  1. Green could always to to Reading. Any keeper is an upgrade there.
  2. If he is, then there are a lot of Championship standard players in the premier league. Stating the obvious, we should know.
  3. I don't think Ba was cracking at all after he came back from Africa. Chalk and cheese comparing the man who went to africa and the one who came back.
  4. Perch is definitely not in the good group, though. He is an extremely limited player.
  5. I have yet to be convinced that Cisse and Ba can play together effectively. Individually, there is no question about their ability, but I wonder if they may prove to be two players that don't mesh. I hope that it does not prove to be the case.
  6. Or that Pardew views Perch as adequate cover in the back four and doesn't need another central defender. I hope not though. Its a good job Adebayor wasn't playing on Saturday.
  7. If Marveaux was fit and not on the bench ahead of obertan, then there's a problem.
  8. And just about every one of them were of the "let's get rid of this hot potato". Most of them were backwards or sideways as he's clearly very uncomfortable on the ball. Perch may be OK in a pinch to fill in in midfield in a purely non constructive way. But he's not a good central defender as he's weak in the air, can't mark a man and he doesn't have any real pace to get him out of trouble. He's too risky to play in a position where he has responsibility. with nobody behind him to get him out of trouble
  9. Then I don't see that as progress. If Man City finish second with more points than last season, how do you think they'd feel?
  10. Difficult to get your knickers in a twist when they're stupid enough to do it knowing the possible consequences.
  11. I'd play you before I'd play obertan. So Anita should be in with a shout.
  12. It can't be positive if its going down. Just saying like. Seriously, if we don't progress, we may not be able to hold this nucleus of players together after next season. Assuming that we do now. Then we'll see a scatter plot. I'll take 6th if we win a cup.
  13. Anything less than 5th will be disappointing as its a backward step. Although we beat some top teams unexpectedly, we dropped more points against poorer teams to offset those wins. Keeping the squad together means we have the players capable of getting us there, providing they start to perform consistently. One outstanding game followed by a couple where they disappear is what seperates us from the teams that will probably finish above us. And pardew has to get over his love affair with obertan.
  14. If Van P. reproduces last seasons goalscoring, then I still think man U came out on top compared to arsenal in the deals done.
  15. I wonder how many players just slipped out to Greggs?
  16. In the last ten years have we gone easier on murder and allowed it to be called manslaughter? I wonder if, in 1960, that would've been considered murder. Now we just can't be arsed to go the extra yard to prove as the police are too busy with major crime like the John Terry case.
  17. Is there a difference between murder rates and manslaughter rates and how does that affect stats overall of people who kill others? For example, that report in the paper yesterday about David Moore kicking McGeorge to death back in March for spilling a few drops on his trainers. He pled guilty to manslaughter. FFS, he kicked a man to death if thats not murder, I don't know what is. But then again applying common sense is not part of the law. I'm sure admitting that he did it and pleading to m/slaughter...even though it was cut and dried that he killed him.... will shave a good few years off his sentence... so will that lower murder rate stats?
  18. Pardew comes out with just as much shite as the next manager, if not more. I'll wait to see what he does on the pitch because he hasn't done anything yet.
  19. Looking at his record, he's no Frank Lampard, Parky.
  20. Like many on here, I haven't seen anita play but I was under the impression, from the media, that he's a holding player rather than a box to box midfielder. Similar to Tiote. Neither could be described as goal scoring midfielders. Unless Pardew has some vision that I don't believe he's capable of, then I'd be surprised if he could give Anita an assurance that he will play in midfield. Two defensive midfield players and a couple of average-at-best fullbacks won't make much of an attacking team at home. Might work away, but surely he can't assure him he'll play at the expense of Tiote at home.
  21. Unless Pardew tells him that Tiote is on his bike. That's the only way I see any assurances that he'll play in midfield.
  22. To clarify, mackems to me really is the team. As in "the mackems". I suppose I should have said mackem fans. I'll let you off on the comprehension thing......this time......as I may not have been clear.
