I don't know anything about mariappa. I am making the point that you don't load up a squad with deadwood because you want to buy "cover". That is why we have players who shouldn't be anywhere close to the premier league. -

We don't need high profile signings, just cover. Cover does not mean buying shite. Thats why we have perch. And best. -
Indeed. He could have been back playing after a few weeks but instead he went for an op to solve the problem. I love the idea of a 'crock' as though there is some physiological or genetic reason why the player will suffer 'injuries'. Its normal to have a specific problem recurring and if the player drinks and/or doesnt look after himself then its usual to have niggles. The lad has, like Ba, a specific issue which will be resolved hopefully through surgery. Having a groin issue does not make him a crock and for the record, Taylor's shoulder and achilles injuries are impossible to link from a medical perspective so neither injury makes him 'injury prone', it is quite simply bad luck. Its the old cognitive dissonance issue again, unable to accept that the probability of these events are independent people piece together a narrative that explains them all as part of some dastardly plan 'we only buy crocks that no one else goes near as we prefer to gamble on them as they cost less money' or something, ignoring the fact that every other team in the league suffers from injuries (and ignoring the fact that Souness once got a Witch Doctor to exhume the bad spirits from the club as an attempt to resolve our injury record). He was injured before we bought him. He was injured when we bought him. He's injured now. I have no idea what cognitive dissonance means but I'd say we bought a crock. Hopefully he'll get better, but I wouldn't bother with this season.

Pardew is a disgrace for picking him and then shown himself to be completely clueless by actually keeping him on the pitch. Pair of fucking tits.
-
What can I say? We bought a crock.
-
Given his history, I'd rather make sure he's ready for pre-season training. No point in bringing him back for this one.

Don't be a fanny. We have Leon Best and Shola Ameobi playing up front foe us at the minute. If you can't empathise with that predicament... Don't think he'll be coming back. Shame, but he should have worked out why people want Senegal to lose. Maybe we are better off without him if he couldn't understand something as simple as that.

Unfortunately there are more perches than bas.
-
He's right though. Warnock has been whinging like a tart to anybody who'll listen about why he lost his job.

I hope to God he is not like Leon Best in any way.

And we wound up paying 3 million for obertan.
-
Hardly a kid as he's 27 in June. He's in the prime of his career. I do hope you are right though.
-
Which is probably true. Most people have no idea who he is or have ever seen him play. I hope he's great but I'll wait to see what he can do before getting carried away. I think most people - on here at least - are well aware of who he is because we were linked with him in the summer. Even then, the money we paid for him, the shirt number he's been given and most importantly the amount of goals he's scored would give any fan a reason to be excited, would they not? I'll wait and see how he does on the pitch where it matters. I'm well past being excited by a shirt number but its certainly something to look forward to. I'm in the group who has never seen him play, has no idea what he'll be like but hopes for the best.
-
And yet, you are not going to achieve success without at least a couple of players who are not blue collar.
-
Ameobi and perch going in the other direction would be nice.

We won't. The FCB will and there is a big difference.

Why Aren't You All Talking About Morrison?

maybe figures hes a better chance of PL football here, what with us not being man u and all If its playing time he's after and not some big fancy pay packet then good on him. I have my doubts if that is the case though just judging from the stories doing the rounds. he might have an attitude problem/be a dick but that doesn't mean he doesn't love football If SAF can't sort him out I'm not holding my breathe that we could. We didn't exactly do a stellar job on ranger. -
Especially as we have enough shite of our own.

When every team knows that every Newcastle player is available, its difficult to keep on getting your knickers in a twist.

Obertan: Earths' gravity is no match for him.

Longer than you, I think. And I still can't think of many players much worse than these two. -

We certainly have two of the worst players if have seen in my time in perch and obertan. It's a toss up which one stinks the most but SAF certainly put another one over us, thats for sure. I'm so leery of him that even if he offered us Rooney for 10 mill I'd probably knock it back. -

Can you enlighten me to exactly what the reason is that pards plays him? I'm not seeing it and I don't think I'm alone in this.
