  1. Now this is the sort of report I wanted to read (apart from the Smith bit), if only it could be made bigger news by the national press - of course they'd only report our stuff if it was negative though.
  2. The saddest thing is we'll lose out on the money we paid for him just for some other club to snatch him up on a free as soon as he's out of our door.
  3. I'm a little concerned that people think that EVERY player that joins us should be instantly a first team regular of very high quality. Larsson might not fit in to everyone's idea of what we need but I think people are forgetting how small and frail our squad is, we NEED decent squad players and Larsson would certainly fit in to that category. We need padding out with some serious depth, we've had a thin squad for so long now it just seems to get smaller by the year or just about break even with a few years back when we ditched a fair number of our players and didn't replace them. I'd be happy with signing Larsson, I don't see why so many players transfers to us are written off so quickly because a good few of them could probably do a job for us.
  4. To be honest we need some squad players, Seb Larsson would fit in to that while pushing for a first team spot. He might not be a top end player but every team needs some half decent squad players and he's really not 'that' bad.
  5. Aye from Newcastle's point of view it is ideal. He either does well or ok and then maybe can take the Newcastle job, or he does terribly and finally it can be laid to rest. I don't think it would be laid to rest though, if he did badly at Blackburn it could be down to him not being as enthusiastic about the job as he would for us. It might not be professional to do so but if you were in his shoes would you perform as well as you would for the club you love? I just don't see it being a good move for him or us.
  6. I don't, I think it was the influence of Tommy Craig. No, I agree with T-Keith on this, Shearer certainly seemed to have more of an influencial presence over the results we got. I'd be gutted if he went elsewhere and was a success, the other thing is if he did go somewhere else and didn't put his all in to it like he would here then it could damage any future possibility of him being our manager. It's a no win situation for him imo.
  7. The flip side to that is he makes his beginners errors elsewhere. It does seem to me though that the majority of people think he'll fail, maybe even want him to fail, I don't know.
  8. Aye, wouldn't suprise me, shit-stirring tossers
  9. Fucking media piss me off with there constant 'Ashley needs to get rid of Keegan' and 'Keegan to walk', wankers.
  10. Think I must be a rarity in that I only want to see Shearer here as manager. It worries me that if he goes somewhere else he might use up his enthusiasm and any contacts he's made prior to any future appointment with us.
  11. Annoyingly shite ginger twat
  12. I got Czech Republic... not sure whether to be happy or not tbh.
  13. Claims being made that Eidur would only consider Wist Am if it was a choice between them or us due to him having friends and family in London... shocker "yawn".
  14. So you wipe one way and are left holding a ball of loo roll with a warm, moist turd island at worst, a stinky skidmark at best. And rather than fold it over or discard it, you wipe that shitty rag back over your ring? The sitters go from bad to worse. No, no, no - "Front to back cleans the crack", never wipe backwards and forwards using the same stroke.
  15. Looks about 12, will last all of 12 minutes against a premiership defender
  16. But they weren't I know, doesn't it feel good
  17. Fixed to my standards Yes, I'm a sitter.
  18. Turns out it was Mike Ashley, not Mort. I'm sure if the rolls were reversed Quinn would have been doing the same.
  19. Don't like Frenchies
  20. And there's scousers who claim WE'RE deluded???
  21. Looks like Nobby's been released by Wist Am too, that was worth him moving down there then wasn't it - still, we got £2m so I'm sure he got a nice sign on fee at the time.
  22. I'm starting to get a real bad feeling about this whole thing, I mean I don't trust the papers but so far Ashley's done nothing that makes me think we're in for an exciting ride any time soon. It's probably the papers stirring as per usual but to be honest they're making a plausible enough case for this Keegan not being backed story that I can see it affecting players wanting to come in. So much for Ashley wanting to make Newcastle a European team again, all I'm seeing is a mediocre, mid-table team with no ambition and dickheads on the board who go over the managers head by appointing people like Dennis Wise. ... I have that Monday feeling if you hadn't guessed
  23. I would want him to walk. I'd want Ashley to walk
  24. I must admit if paper reports are to be believed (that's a BIG if though) I can understand Kev feeling pissed off with being messed about by the board. Yes we probably could do with trimming the wage bill but Kev could also do with some backing. On a side note I'd snap Crouch up given half a chance, I want to see the crazy robot dance!
