From SSN: Is that not what he said last time? Either Sky's lazy journos are bored or Taylor's acting like a cracked record. In all fairness I can understand Taylor wanting it sorted but this really isn't the way to go about getting a decent contract offer.

Some of you are being a bit harsh to the Spurs lad aren't you? I mean I know some of his opinions are likely to differ from yours but I didn't think he was like that cockwipe Torres, or did I miss something somewhere?

Is this really official or just some foreign guff?

March 'last' year? Christ it's taken them long enough hasn't it? Those Liverpool magistrates must be a busy lot

Not your own country?! Pffft, some fan you are.

You said it mate. I think you miss understood the use of the article. It was a reference to the Spurs fan, but never mind, I`m sure you`ll grasp English sooner or later. I think you misunderstood his piss taking at your expense. Even though he's probably happy and snug in his Swiss chalet eating Toblerone I think it's nice that Torres is making the effort to learn our language, it's just a shame he's such a penis.

You need good cover it's true, we lack strength in depth and have for several seasons now. With our squad being paper thin we really do need some new faces in to bulk us out, I can't shake the feeling though that Ashley's not backing Kev as much as we'd like him to. We're not a club in financial trouble, we have a wealthy owner, while I'm enjoying the transfer thing being low-key for a change it doesn't help keep the momentum going that arrived when Keegan returned. I don't expect instant success, contrary to the popular belief of crap journos and muppets I think the majority of Toon fans feel the same way - it would be nice though to think that we have some good, new players to look forward to rather than every time we're linked with someone that person ends up at Spurs, or worse at a mid-table team not even in Europe. Currently we don't have the pull we're used to but hopefully if Ashley backs Kev we can have a good enough season this year that our pull will be back to normal for next summer. Ashley needs to be making more of a public show of support for Keegan though imo.

Is Woodgate really worth his money? He's not looked anything like the player he was since RM. Although considering how much we paid for Smith..... He's been outstanding mate. I think I have counted 2 bad games from him since his arrival (one of which against you). Add to that a cup final winner and that transfer fee has already been justified. But two games is only just under Woody's usual annual game quota isn't it? His bench in the sick bay would get cold if he left it for any longer

For a supposed supporter of Liverpool Torres sure does have a high post count on Newcastle Utd forum, I think he's in love with us really.

To be fair the Spuds are going to have more transfer pull at the moment, they're in London, they have UEFA Cup footy next season and a manager who's recently been seen as successful in Europe. As much as it upsets me to say it we need to have a good season next term through buying lesser know players if we're to try and catch them up.

To be fair I think any 16 year old who's loitering around at that time of night without good reason deserves a good hiding Their parents are likely scumbags as well... especially if they're scousers.

I found this an interesting read, while I don't condone Barton's actions I think I agree with the writer in principle.

Better than what we have at present

I don't like Terry, dirty, whinging, snot-blowing pikey

I see the old "Mike Ashley wants to sell up" story has surfaced again in some quarters, will they ever give it a rest?
-
Sorry but Eh? Hehe, maybe even as far as the kitchen T-Keith.

If they ditched the Messiah I'd walk away aswell.

I've seen him play, POSH is the local team where I am but tbh I really don't think he's better than Harps - He's good but not THAT good
-
Perfect for them

Hull in the Prem? It's a crazy world we live in

We should really be considering trumping Man City for Arshavin, what would be amusing is if we bought Dunne off them so that they had half the money to do it then nab Arshavin while City were waiting for Ireland to be sold to Sunderland.

So it was all planned to happen anyways, I can't believe that the media didn't get all the facts before reporting on it in a negative fashion...

Aye, deffo SWP ... oh hang on, you mean the kid to the left, aye, deffo Ameobi

To be fair the Spuds have probably got more pull than us in the transfer market in this coming season and being that it's a new thing to them it's only fair that they try and flex that over us and make the most of it. Personally I think we'll be looking to be on par in the league with them next season providing Kev makes some sensible buys, the following season I'd expect us to be back above them again. If I was picking players from them I'd struggle from the list provided, we don't need a right back, we don't need a central defender who needs babysitting. Lennon 'might' be worth having but I don't see him any different to Milner in the long run.

I wouldn't fancy it either but to be honest I'm of the opinion that prisons should be dank, stone built cells with a straw mattress and bucket as the only furniture... and breaking rocks for exercise
