I'm currently sat at home with no boiler and a nasty case of tonsillitis. The boiler broke down last Thursday so I packed the wife and youngster off to the in-laws while I've stayed at home with the cat. I have one warm room, heated to about 15 degrees by an electric radiator and a complete inability to do anything other than sit around and be miserable. My fucking throat is sore as and I can't swallow, not even spit without searing pain. Fucking bollocks.

Apple "special" shopping day - this friday
TheMoog replied to Smooth Operator's topic in General Chat
Apple just sells on the name, not on the quality of the merchandise or it's capabilities. Basically they're for 'trendy' types or arty folk -
You're welcome, any other zombie genre based info just ask - I seem to have amassed a fair number of dvds and books on this particular area (currently reading one called Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile by J L Bourne, seems quite good so far too, the previous book was good too). ... uh oh, zombie geek-tastic

I didn't think the third episode was that bad...

Maybe we could sell him back to Leeds... if we can convince them that he's sorry he left them for Man Utd.

We need a Santiago Munez now!

The beginning of a new generation of science, quite exciting really.

I think it's sad that so many of you lot mock Leazes, no wonder this country's in the state it's in.

Not true spiders those Camel ones, they're solpugids.

Sounded to me like Carroll was the only decent thing to come out of tonight's match. I think the game itself typified the problem England has with a lack of technical players and a manager who really doesn't have the right attitude himself and doesn't encourage the right attitude in the players.
-
To be honest I think half the time Leazes is pretty much spot on of his outlook on this country, it doesn't surprise me though that his views aren't accepted on a media which is historically left-wing or dominated by people who've lead somewhat sheltered lives from the real world such as students. On a serious note I wonder how many people would choose to live in a traditionally non-British community, seeing how well they are accepted there... just a thought like.

That top one's just a skin. I grew up with my brother owning several hundred tarantulas and scorpions, funny thing is although they don't bother me I'm not keen at all on house spiders. Don't get me wrong, cellar spiders (google it) and garden spiders are fine but house spider, no thanks... bloody horrible scuttling, long legged, ugly creepy bastards.

??? If you've got wireless broadband (like most) then with a little bit of cash spent you can wirelessly watch anything downloaded (ie on your pc) on your tv sitting on your sofa. I have a samsung blu ray player that wirelessly connects to the pc or directly to the internet through the home broadband hub. a few hundred quid, but if you can afford a reclinging sofa..... Sounds good, sadly I'm not as technically minded as I once was so it all sounds a bit beyond me. Thanks for the pointer but I'll prolly just wait for it to be on FX.

I often wonder why there's always people willing to make a nothing out of truly offensive stuff like burning poppies, etc but if someone upsets an extremist they feel the need to bow down to how bad this county is. Personally my stance is if people don't like this county they should fuck off elsewhere more to their liking.

Finished watching series 4 last night, so you could say I'm a little behind you guys. Lithgow was awesome though, after watching every series from the beginning I can't wait for series 5 to show on FX. ... yes, I know I could watch it online but I prefer the comfort of my reclining sofa for watching tv.

Rocker, I prefer the music and the look. Incidentally my brothers both own old Triumph Tigers, I've never got round to it myself though.

I'm with Gemmill on this, Chrimbo dinner's got to be Turkey for me. Essentially a larger version of a Sunday roast, with stuffing, honey roast parsnips, sprouts, carrots, mash, roasties and lashings of gravy made from the bird's juices. The only thing I don't indulge in on the traditional side is I tend to have bread sauce with mine as opposed to cranberry jelly. As a kid I recall we used to make an extra effort and have a starter (usually prawn cocktail - though in latter years this changed to pate, chutney and toast. Dessert on Chrimbo day was always a selection of the standard Christmas pud, a chocolate torte and probably a trifle.

I don't see why anyone should get negative about this, there's a whole lot of other shit in this country that's really crap that's deserving of scorn. Personally I'm looking forward to it, but then I'm a royalist.

Fucking hell, I thought Skidmark had fucked off.

Aliens exist and UFOs are covered-up by US government, says ex-astronaut
TheMoog replied to Park Life's topic in General Chat
This. Less science talk and more Captain Kirk getting off with green-skinned dancing girls. Time to roll out the Shatnotron again Yeah, when will these stupid geeky scientists realise we just don't care about things like blackholes and other boring shit, we want aliens already! -
