I actually agree with the ESPN pundit Obertan looks more threatening through the middle than out wide. I'd be tempted to give him a run out there in the early Europa League games. I think Roy to a certain extent played safe. Playing Milner ahead of Walcott was playing safe. Playing 4-4-2 was playing it safe. Playing an unfit Rooney ahead of Carroll, Defoe or Ox was playing it safe. What's more we didn't have some of our better players available. Having Barry, Lampard and Wilshere available would have given us more control in games.
