He wants paid monthly in Omega watches, Ashley is offering it weekly in returned donnay sandals.

*Tin hat on* I think he's had an excellent start to the season. He's cheap, reliable, doesn't get injured and was part of a settled back four which was conceding very few goals. I don't remember too much coming down our right side this season.

We can get away with that against Swansea, cos Danny Graham is only 6'1". Oh.

Just got back from what must be my 6th visit and the first time I've actually not thought the place to be filthy to the core. Spent the weekend walking and cycling round the Jordaan. Absolutely beautiful place, super friendly, with great bars on every corner.

Krul Simpson Santon Colo Raylor Obertan Cabaye Gosling Jonas Ben Arfa Ba THE only option. Pardoo already said that Perch starts... If Colo is fit it'll be him and Perch.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

Its very similar to what Ashley is doing right now actually. He's looking at players who are undervalued, and ignoring those who are overvalued. This is why we're signing young players from France with potential, and not 'proven' talent that will cost more than they're actually worth because of prior achievements and nationality. Suggest that the NUFC system isn't quite as methodical and scientific. More luck than judgement. But Moneyball was great. I really enjoy baseball which helps. But I don't remember seeing a better sports movie? -
Steven Taylor is out for the season
donaldstott replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
The first goal he ducks, he's already small enough, not even a challenge, the second and third goals defence all over the place again, and I agree Taylor was ridiculously exposed, three times Sturridge just went through like Taylor wasn't there, which he wasn't some of the time. Woeful situation to be in this though Simpson and fuckin Perch centre halfs for NUFC. All Ashley's doing. For me it is a great ball and an outstanding header. Don't see either Coloccini or Taylor winning that. Cabaye is most culpable for falling asleep from the the throw. As for the last two goals, it's against 10 men and we're chasing the game. He had a solid enough game. That doesn't make him good enough long term. -

I don't see Jonas at left back. He can be more helpful putting a shift in helping Taylor. More likely Santon - Simpson - Perch - R.Taylor -
If we do end up with SD on the shirts, no doubt it would be accompanied by a sob story about how the fan's have put off other sponsors, therefore the club is running with decreased turnover, so there's no money to buy players. From an Ashley point of view that sounds like a good way of maximising revenues at his profitable company and minimising losses at his loss making one.

Question about making a loss in tax year for self employed
donaldstott replied to ajax_andy's topic in General Chat
Any earnings under £15k normally doesn't require receipts etc. I'd claim it as a business expense, declare a loss, photocopy your form and submit the same numbers next year! -
This one's a better link... http://twitpic.com/7cjcm5/full edit: dammit Tom

Haven't got to the bottom of that myself, but seemingly the story was embargoed until midnight and a "national newspaper sports editor" has gone early on it. Which breaks rule 1.1 in the journalists handbook.

He's never exactly been in it for the long game though has he. Buy em cheap and sell me high etc.

Needs a marketeer not a financial type. It's all about brand awareness. Having his branding at the ground limits it to a TV audience for those televised games and those in the ground. Renaming it opens up millions more mentions of his brand (newspaper reports, radio reports, Non televised games twitter, facebook). However, by the time you take all the negative brand damage of such a move and no doubt a lot of SJP regulars who will now boycoutt his stores, the benefit isn't that great. In pure business terms it's probably worth the risk.
-
Aye, why is that millions of companies spend billions on advertising? You know, given that it doesn't work and that.

You have to give Ashley credit for hiring Pardew and for putting considerable faith in the judgement of Graham Carr. We seem to be the only club that is putting together a strategy for the financial fair play rules. There is no doubt about it the anti-Ashley protests and no doubt the recession, has turn NUFC from a play thing to a business in his eyes.

Good performance yesterday and the second half especially was a joy to watch. With Manure, Chelsea and Man City on the horizon it's important that Ben Arfa gets some minutes, cos i can see Pardew going one up top against all three with Ben Arfa in behind.

I believe the soundtrack skips to a song called 'playing with the boys' in that scene. Subtle indeed. Two previously unmentioned favourites... Cocktail Coming to America

This. Personally I think Best is the right type of player to play the lone role with HBA in the hole. Decent in the air, not bad with back to goal and yet comfortable playing on the shoulder of defenders. What we need is a mark 2 version of him. But to be honest I'm not sure who that is.

Not sure when you are going but this looks a tidy deal... http://www.travelzoo.com/uk/hotels/usa-can...-Hotel-1102888/ This place is worth a visit for lunch.. http://www.thespottedpig.com/ Or here if you want to get dressed up http://www.jean-georges.com/ Again try the lunch deal which is great value.

Pardew suggested on SSN that he is going to take carling cup seriously and will look at team selection for fixtures around future rounds. Sounded like it was almost a priority!

3 times? I heard if you say 'Alan Kennedy' three times in succession you are transported to a rubbish dump just outside Bootle.

michel platini! or Mark Pembridge

My bet would be that he'll be emailed the questions and given time with the PR lady to formulate an appropriate response. He's not brave enough or clever enough to risk being interviewed face to face.

Started playing 6's on a Thursday, I've not played since the boy was born (16 months). Last week I played well and was fine physically apart from a couple of blisters. This week played despite having back pain, my back went 10 mins in, we've got no subs so i play (horrifically) for a further 30 minutes and end up basically unable to walk. #thestoryofamid30sfootballer #apparentlyeverychiropactorinlondonisonholiday
