  1. Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson wants Nigeria international left-back Taye Taiwo from Marseille. Rangers are poised to swoop for Argentina full-back Diego Placente - and could land the Celta Vigo player for nothing. EARTH CALLING ASHLEY... COME IN ASHLEY.
  2. We're not looking at much if our players are being asked to play in three different positions a game if someone gets injured.
  3. Signed for Panathanaikos. Also I don't see how Baines is too short - he's a full-back. Most full-backs are short. Allardyce studied film of our games last season. He found that many of the goal we conceded were due to the full-back being over-matched physically. His solution is to bring in big, tall fullbacks, who defend first and get forward only when safe to do so. Then Huntington seems like the logical choice at the moment.
  4. Passed a medical at Spurs this morning according to one of their Message Boards.
  5. I think I'm probably alone in wanting Danny Murphy. Seems the sort of player willing to fight to get in the 1st team and someone who BS could get real results out of.
  6. It'd be like a group thing. Then we can get the golf clubs out to make him feel at home.
  7. He's alright as cover for the moment. Up front, we seem to have a decent choice. Nice options.
  8. Apology accepted. You're confused.
  9. He's better than anything we've gt at LB, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
  10. Portsmouth look decent. Fulham look better thank last season. Man city could impress. I have NO idea who's going to be relagated this season. Not even the Mackems.
  11. I'm sorry. Are you saying you'd turn down Riise?
  12. We need pace going forward on the wing. An attacking full-back coupled with solid Centre-Halves could pay such exceptional dividends in giving us attacking options. I think Riise is an great player. He's a dead ball specialist, has a hell of a boot on him, and is also a comfortable left winger. I think he's the answer to a lot of our problems at left back. The problem we have, is a lack of attacking full-backs, Huntington is a Centre Half, Babyaro is never going to be adequate, Carr, on his good foot is shit, not to mention too slow for the Premiership, and on his bad foot is even worse, and N'Zogbia is a full out attacking player. Not a defender.

    Worried

"Well the year's '94 and my trunk is Raw..." Great song.
  14. Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer for £4.5m. (The Sun) Sven-Goran Eriksson has also enquired about West Brom's £9m-rated centre-back Curtis Davies. (The Sun) -------------------- There's something FUCKED UP about those prices.

Riise, Campbell, Hyypia... Surely all attainable.
  16. I would consider masturbating profusely in public if Riise signs for us.
  17. I haven't been able to watch the Toon in the flesh for a few years now as I live in London, but I had a fucking ball tonight. Sat under the Celtic fans, Fucking Animals like, but it was truly a thing of beauty going 2-0 up, and then *grins manically* 3-0, especially as they were Luque's goals (more to follow) watching about 800 Newcastle fans calling out the entire Celtic support was hilarious, and of course the obligatory "Are You Sunderland in Disguise?" Celtic actually looked quite tasty in the first half going forward, but their back 4 was atrocious. So... Given: Exceptional. Was kicking himself for the goal, not his fault. Carr: I always used to think that Carr was better than everyone condemned him to be. He's not. He's fucking shocking. We need him at the moment to bolster the squad, but jesus christ, we need new fullbacks. On both sides. Rozenhal: Looks like a Quality, Quality Centreback. Him and Taylor seem to have struck a decent understanding as well. Ramage: Not shocking. Amazingly. Made a few important challenges as well. Still not good enough for Newcastle though. Huntington: In no way, shape, or form a full back, but could be a pretty good centre-back. Looks like he'll get his fair share of opportunities this season as well. Solano: The only "flair" midfielder we had today. Nice balls through, and good linking with Martins. Butt: Solid. The crab even found himself in the box twice in the first half. That was scary. In the first half it seemed like Geremi was playing DM and that allowed Nicky to get forward. Geremi: Class. His set pieces are brilliant, he's got a nice long shot on him, and I think he's a DEFINITE first choice to be DM. What a good buy. Milner: MUCH pacier than last season, and great linking up with the forwards. He had some great runs, and isn't scared to take defenders on. Martins: Ok. If we sell him, I'll be fucking gutted. He didn't have a first touch llike a rapist, at least tonight, his pace is immense, and he's a constant threat on the edge of the box. When played on the right hand side of the front two, he is so dangerous when cutting onto his left foot. Luque: Albert Luque is fucking shite. I so, so wanted him not to be, but he is fucking gash. He was in the right place at the right time on a few occassions tonight, but that freekick... jesus. What was he thinking? Taylor: Brilliant. Him and Rozenhal could ba formidable partnership. Pattison: Rubbish. Get rid. N'Zogbia: Seemed incredibly pissed off at being played at LB. And rightfully so. Had very little to do. I'd expect him to want to leave. Carroll: Looked pretty good. I'd liek to see him loaned out though. Troisi: when we changed to 4-5-1 he looked quite decent on the right wing. Harper: Actually looked really solid in the middle for the few minutes he was on.
  18. Anyone care to tell me where's the best place to get a seat?
  19. It's my first time at St. James' for a long time, because I'm back in Town for a week due to having me appendix out. I take it there'll be tickets available everywhere in the ground, where's the best place to get a seat?
  20. 4 Players. Centre Back, a utility defender, playmaking midefielder, but LEFT BACK IS PRIORITY. DO YOU HEAR ME ASHLEY! GET YOUR WALLET OUT SON!
  21. I know he wants height, but I'm going to fucking kick myself if Baines goes to the Mackems.
  22. He's never done well for newcastle, in any game. EVER. he has never been given a chance, what did he have last season 6 starts which he still managed to score 2 goals. Make your mind up. Did he do well when he started, or he didn't do well because he wasn't given the chance? Because that's not what you said before. When I ask, when? Man U. First game. Was disallowed though.
  23. haha. HAHA. BLAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Brilliant.
