  1. I think you'll find I said I doubt we'll sign anyone else. Never used the word 'definitely'. But feel free to change history to suit your own narrative
  2. He also said he desperately didn't want to lose him and that it was something they weren't planning for - Shelvey has initiated this. He's barely featured for us this season so his departure isn't going to be felt massively. I cannot see us getting someone in just for the sake of it. They'll be planning and if they can get a target then fine, but we won't be signing someone to just make up the numbers. It's clearly not their style.
  3. Agreed. I imagine he'll be involved in internal discussions but Ashworth and, principally, Nickson who will be doing the hard graft. The All or Nothing: Arsenal series on Amazon Prime touched on the level of involvement the head coach has on transfer dealings when the were dealing with Aubameyang's exit. Edu drove it and just called Arteta in for a go/no-go decision. I reckon it'll be a similar thing at NUFC.
  4. Imagine going from Pickford as your GK to Pope .... What an upgrade

    Cheers, thanks Sammy
  6. 25th April is going to be a tasty affair. Watch some of the radgie cunts get on the pitch to try and get to him. And THEN watch Schar protect him.
  7. I thought that when he was stood next to Pope. 6ft on the dot apparently.
  8. Mad Dog telling Trips he's come to finish off the fight Loved Schar saying he'll protect him if he earns it.
  9. Didn't occur to me that Gordon is young enough NOT to have to be named in the 25-man squad.
  10. Aye, aside from giving a thumbs up and having a welcome chat, I doubt Eddie will have had any interaction with AG - I suspect he had little with Isak before he signed too. His work is in the dressing room and on the training ground - contracts are not the tasks for head coaches any more.
  11. With our setup these days I should imagine he has input but the mechanics of processing a transfer will be firmly on Ashworth's and Nickson's plates. Howe will be totally focused on preparing for the game.
  12. Are you STILL to be convinced Pearson hasn't got connections with the club? Pretty convinced he'll have made sure it was the correct squad number before he posted it.
  13. That’s my point. If this happened to someone like Bruno and the Mackems made fun of it we’d be livid and rightly so - it’s a cunt’s trick. It’s a fucking horrendous injury that we should wish on no professional footballer irrespective of which team he plays for. I wish him a speedy and successful recovery.
  14. Forget the team involved, Stewart’s ruptured his Achilles tendon. It’s fucking horrendous and at least a year on the sidelines. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
  15. I'm not overtly superstitious, but things like this really piss me off. Talk about setting us up for a fall.
  16. With respect, it's a big 'if' and absolutely no guarantee we will finish in the top 4. I'd be very surprised if the club were planning for a summer with CL revenue on the forecast. Wood leaving was the catalyst for us going for Gordon IMO. Had he not gone to Forest I doubt we'd have had any incoming at all.
  17. I strongly suspect that if we sign Gordon that will be our only business in this window. More spend now will result in less during the summer when availability will be better. As for Anthony Gordon, he's been the standout shining light in a really shit Everton side over the past 18 months and he's only 21. There's been flashes of brilliance in that time and I can only see the coaching of Howe et al taking him to the next level. Personally I think it's a great signing and sits right in the mould of the squad we're building.
  18. Pretty much agree with Fish. His time at Everton is done. Their fans will not forget him missing training. He's heading for the exit and it's just a case of how much they can get for him.
  19. Murphy and Lascelles have both been at it this season. Good to see - let the fuckers hate us.
  20. I've edited it to put the current position of each opponent next to it. The last 2 games of the season could be interesting - Wolves & Bournemouth currently occupying the places directly above them. I reckon Southampton, Everton & Bournemouth will go. Wolves to escape by the skin of their teeth.
  21. Oh don't get me wrong, I salute the title and the use of 'rabblement'. Quite liking the thought we're known as the masters of shithousery in the league now though. We're no longer everyone's favourite second club .... good!
  22. Aye, but since then they've lost Richarlison who, despite being a cunt was pretty useful in that campaign. They replaced him with Maupay.
  23. And their remaining fixtures are: Arsenal (H) - 1st Liverpool (A) - 9th Leeds (H) - 15th Villa (H) - 11th Forest (A) - 13th Brentford (H) - 8th Chelsea (A) - 10th Spurs (H) - 5th Man Utd (A) - 4th Fulham (H) - 7th Palace (A) - 12th Newcastle (H) - 3rd Leicester (A) - 14th Brighton (A) - 6th Man City (H) - 2nd Wolves (A) - 17th Bournemouth (H) - 18th Villa, Forest, Leicester Wolves and Bournemouth they may get something, the rest of the games though, I can't see it.
