  1. Amazing result Anyone know what points totals did we get in our 4th/3rd/5th seasons?
  2. Quick flick through Twitter this morning and the usual decent crowd of journalists are saying that Redknapp was ruled out due to the expected millions in compensation. They also keep going on about Woy's ability to grow the national football centre which seems a little odd, i'm sure most other English managers would have seen the importance in developing a younger generation.
  3. I've nothing against Hodgson but he is a pretty average manager. Managed a lot of teams to steady success but never won anything. 10th position with WBA is probably his level to be fair. Cant see the media giving him a fair ride though, which is a shame
  4. Momentum is key at this stage of the season whether you're at the top or bottom. Bolton, QPR, Wigan and Blackburn have all picked up points / form in recent weeks where as Villa keep losing. Important to note the pressure too, the teams above will obviously be desperate to stay up and will be feeling the pressure but expected a relegation fight so this is no different. The pressure comes to the Villa players who are in totally new territory and by the looks of it are slipping with it. Villa to go down for me along with QPR and Wolves
  5. Kyle Walker young player of the year apparantly. Seems a decent player but had a better season than Aguero?
  6. Whilst the club is much more 'sellable', I'd be surprised if he sold. Things are going well, revenue will be going up and if we get into the CL then the balance book will look strong.
  7. Cautiously optimistic. Momentum is everything at this time of year
  8. Controversial one but Gary Speed. plenty of people used to give him stick but we didnt really realise how good he was until we sold him.
  9. Would love West Ham to lose the playoff final, Fat Sam's ego would get such a beating. Carew was trending on twitter earlier for being shit!
  10. We also play Chelsea the Wednesday before the cup final which can only be an advantage for us.
  11. I thought this was Leazes for a second, shame
  12. Good news for us. Spurs look fucked and a congested fixture list for Chelsea. Is the FA cup final before or after the last game this year?
  13. RIP to the 96 but the scousers do love a bit of grieving don't they? How many scousers are in the Liverpool team, 2? Do they really think Suarez and Enrique won't have their mind on the game because people died on that day 23 years ago? When does it stop? Whatever findings come out of the investigation it won't appease everyone and the Justice campaign will go on forever. It's almost like they'd miss campaigning for a bit of justice. The Man Utd model as previously noted is the best example, play on that day to honour their memories.
  14. This Stoke game is massive btw. Can see QPR getting something against Spurs and definitely can't see anything but an Arsenal win against Chelsea. Stoke have nothing to play for except a higher league position in mid table - 3 points there and we're well on the way. Sorry to ruin your party Leazes and actually talk about football
  15. As long as we keep winning his poor goalscoring form could keep a few preying eyes away if anything. I think he's quality but we've all seen plenty of flash in the pan strikers in the PL and other clubs could well take a step back and look at other players. Anyway, who would he sign for? Another Champions League team?!!
  16. His smile to Pardew was quality, like him saying 'i fucking told you i could do that'! He's been world class for the last couple of months.
  17. Seen this game before, we do tend to struggle against a 5 man midfield at home don't we?
  18. No team with Gareth Barry as one of the first names on the teamsheet should win a title. Their team is still too huff and puff for me in midfield. Silva is quality but had a poor 2012, the rest do nothing attacking for me. Big overhaul there this summer I reckon, although they should look at both Man Utd and Chelsea before sacking Mancini...
  19. Chelsea's schedule with the Fa Cup semi and CL game a couple of days later will hopefully work well for us as their league form will surely dip slightly. Unbelievable that we've beaten that points tally from the 5th season btw
  20. Good example above re Spurs. If they hadn't sold Berbatov, Carrick and Keane for what, c£70m then they wouldn't be anywhere near where they are now. Their policy was buy young, progressive players and now they've reinvested it and are likely to get CL football again. I hope we don't sell our best players but if the money is reinvested properly (like it seems to have been so far) then i'd take it on the chin if we progressed leazes is clearly seething that the team are doing well. For a self proclaimed matchgoer he probably sat arms folded when we scored on Sunday in fear of his argument being proved as rubbish!
  21. I don't think the media had it in for AVB but the amount of pressure they put on him was ridiculous compared to what they're affording Dalglish. When they beat us in December they went 4 points clear of us, 1st April and it's 11 points. Only Wolves have been worse in 2012 yet the media make the story about Perch and Simpson ffs?!
  22. Our team today cost what, £25m?

    Relegation

Great if Villa went down. Bolton, Wigan, Qpr and Blackburn are all on decent form so they're getting sucked in. Exactly the same happened with McLeish's Birmingham last season. Hope Given and N'Zogbia are well....
