More likely he'll be about to ref the cup final when they'll give it to Shay Given instead who's just qualified to be a ref!
-
The important thing is that on top of how much its helping NUFC, its funny and will be annoying them alot and that'll do for me!
-
The same type of fouls you constantly whine season after season that Arsenal are guilty of? I whinge about them being spoilt brats, about dirty fouls/elbows etc, diving/feinging injury and the like and their surrounding of refs and whinging after matches from their manager etc. But i've always said NUFC have to be alot more cynical and "professional" if they want to get anywhere and that its up to refs to punish the more cynical side of the game when it occurs, and if they don't, you keep doing it.

Some sad fuckers even booed the team off at half time ffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had done enough to show we could beat Reading - who are no push-overs by any means - so why the fuckwits decided to boo, just bewilders me. Agree with the above. Emre, Butt and Nobby were fighting for man of the match and Emre edged it with a cracking goal. Nobby is streets ahead of Carr at right back and not just because Carr is hite either. He plays intelligently and i might add is very good at cynical/proffesional little fouls that stop dangerous breaks about to happen. The pricks who do all the booing are getting beyond a joke. As Gemmill said its now inevetiable that if we're behing at half time they'll boo, and if we're level with what these "supporters" class as weak opposition they'll boo. And booing an individual player during the match is not just embarassing but mornic as it makes the player worse and isn't going to lift his team mates some of whom will be friends with him. The team deserve alot of credit for this match. We were ahead and playing well until a deflection and then crap defending from Babayaro saw us go in behind, but they came out in the second half and turned it all round for a fully deserved win and the comeback should give the team alot of confidence as previously when behind we always look beaten.

The Sib has done everything you could have asked of him really and more. He's playing as a target man for us, working his arse off and battling away. He's scored more than his share of goals and set up a few chances for others as well, and he scores goals when it counts to win matches or get us back into them. He's clearly loving it here as nothing was expected and he's just having a great time.

man didnt invent fire tbh. Its just a chemical reaction. He invented the wheel though I wonder how long it was until man discovered pedantry... He didn't really discover pedantry, more became aware of it as a concept.

I started an argument with the bloke next to me about this nonsense and the 40,000 whinging idiots. Same when they wanted the ball to get kicked out when their player got treatment off the pitch. That incident really got on my tits, and not the fact their fans were whinging about it. I just can't believe some of the things our team do. Its bad enough as it is that we always stop our attacks and chance to get a goal, to kick the ball our for other teams players (when the prem have told people not to), but to hold back and not go after them when their players was already of the fucking pitch is unbelievable!!! Successful teams are never nice, or fair and they are always cynical and play to the edge of the rules, they certainly don't bend over backwards to help the opposition like we do. Along with a total lack of coaching we have a total lack of cynical proffesionalism that needs to be instilled into the players. -Rant over-

He'll rather be among the Rotterdam hooligans and throw seats after the stewards... Why do they have to wait till the stewards have thrown seats before they can start?

But now we are unbeaten in 6. Another clean sheet (6 goals conceded in 12). Keeps the momentum going. We dont play for 6 days so plenty of time for a rest. I dont see the problem. Have to say i was against playing the likes of Milner and Zog who were recently injured, but i would have definitely kept the same back four to keep them working as a unit. Any defence that keeps getting clean sheets and isn't conceding many is doing its job and currently our is, and as people have said Nobby is a part of that. I would like to say if but sadly it will be WHEN Roeder drops Nobby for Carr we will see us struggle more down the right hand side and alot less attacking play start from that area of the pitch and we will be the worse for it.

It was an excellent mainstream sitcom the whole family could enjoy once it hit its form, i think the very early ones aren't as good and rarely ever shown. The three episodes involving batman/Robin and them becoming milionaires were as good as anything he'd written and were a perfect way to end the series. He then spoiled it all by bringing it back and it steadilly got worse and he made the truly awful decision to pick that "actor" to play the kid who ruined every scene he went near and must have been the directors son or something, he was hideous! What little i've seen of the Boycie spin off just confirms the fact he's now past his best as a writer and he should never bring OFAH back again.

Has a terrible injury record at Manu, at the toon he'd barely play a game a season, so it would be a very big mistake IMO.
-
I'd be resting as many senior players as possible, and giving a chance to players who haven't had many/any games this season. I can see what people are saying about keeping the defence together since in recent games they are going well and you want that to continue, but you just know we will get more injuries to anyone who is playing well!

Solano looks like a proper cultured right back. Puts Stephen Carr to shame. Mind if he comes up against a flyer on the wing he'd maybe have a shit afternoon of it, but I reckon his football brain will probably get him out of a lot of scrapes that Carr wouldn't be able to cope with. I would hope we've seen the last of that idiot at right back. Everyone slates our defence when their record is shite, and rightly so, but they should also get credit when their record is good and for quite a while no we haven't conceded many goals. We have the best defensive record of the bottom half of the prem (not great obviously, but a start and i didn't look at the top half to see if we're better than any of them) If Roeder bring back Carr he wants his marching order tbh because everyone has played better than him at RB this season when asked to. Nobby can do a job for us there in the absence of a new RB (or the likes of Taylor/Ramage playing there) because he is an intelligent footballer who knows how to position himself and lets us actually play football from the back. He's played their for his country and actually started there in his career. Its not like every team has a flying out and out left winger these days that will expose him defensively and since Carr's defending has gone to shit, Nobby offers us more going forward and more defensively these days! Then come January a RB should be bought along with a LB and a striker!
-
Being world class at it does require some inate sixth sense of where to be and when and a world class striker will have finishing skills better than anyone. But if you put the time and effort in you can change the way somebody plays, all they are asking him to do is run to the far post or near post in an angled run instead of slowly moving in a predictable straight line. And asking him to gamble on the chance happening. Footballers aren't exactly intellectuals but do you honestly think you can't teach Martins to run to the near or far post and beat defenders to the ball!!!
-
Exactly, so all he really needs is some good coaching to take what he has got and make him into a top player...and if NUFC stands for anything its world class coaching!!! Seriously though, whether it be Shearer, Owen or somebody else they should take what Shearer said and get it worked on every day in training.

Agree with that. King Neptune wins, though they don't do buffets so may not be much use for the person who started the thread. Landmark was started by the people originally at the King Neptune but for some reason on the lunchtimes has basically the menu from the king neptune but with less choice! Its nice, but King Neptune wins for me. King Neptune is the King of the non-buffets, its a little bit more expensive then the other non-buffets, but well worth it. Especially the deep fried garlic prawns! And the hot and spicy lamb, they cook it so well you could eat the lamb without any teeth! Is that where you take your dates then? You know fine well it is, i see you in there with a different bloke every week!

Best one so far Mourinho prepares for the role of Sloth in the premiership's tribute to the Goonies!

This has pissed me off for years now and i've never wrked out why the club has been so thick as to not see it. Not so much these days, but back a while we were an attackign football team who would see oppositon teams come up here to spoil games and time waste and kick the ball out etc. as we were seen as hard to beat at St. James. So what do we do? We help them by employing the cast of Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory who have no idea or inclination to collect the ball and if they do they eoither throw it the wrong way or can't throw it more than 2 yards. There was actually a spell where it was really taking the piss and you had ball boys/girls who were the same bloody size as the ball. As has been said we are a multi-million pound business yet we are run like a pub team in so many ways.
-
It was due to the ref being a complete dick!

Clearly, as he told you. GREAT doctor. 3 or 4 years later. yes. Oh well thats alright then because patient/doctor confidentiality does officially expire after 4 years, everyone knows that, he really is a great doctor!
-
It was onside, but it was one of many crap decisions on the day which we managed to get past to get a deserved win. Martins is definitely getting better with time here, as would be expected takign time to adjust to the premiership as well as having been playing in an out of form team who have not played to his strengths at all. In the first half he out jumped/out fought their centrebacks to win the ball and he's just looking alot better and more confident all round. Unfortunately for him and us he wrongly had a goal ruled out. But the main difference in the team is Dyer by a mile. The Dyer haters can continue to hate him all they like but just watch the team with him and without and there is no comparison, nearly everything good we did involved him and if he stays fit he'll see us climbing up the table, because lets be honest the prem is now utter dogshite when you consider what position that Portsmouth team currently occupy!

The Antoine Sibierski appreciation thread

You can't knock the bloke, he's essentially a midfielder who we've thrown in up front and he's already got 5 goals in a team not playing well by and large, including several match winning goals. He's also filled the target man role for the team.
