  1. Unless it's a blowout either way think it's going to be a couple of days before the result is confirmed, so I'm definitely avoiding the actual night
  2. I'm resigned to Trump winning Harris will win the popular vote, but the electoral college is such an inbuilt Republican advantage, there is so much voter suppression, so much media bias and dark money behind Trump that I don't think she has chance Dark days ahead
  3. Happy to wait and see, but investment has to be good news
  4. Two reasons why Trump is probably going to win. Firstly he has managed to get the election to be about immigration which is always a winner to get massive chunks of the population riled up. The less we'll off get to blame someone else and the better off are terrified of losing what they have The Dems have failed to get the story away from immigration so they are fighting on Trumps territory Secondly people hate people who are not authentic, and Trump may be a racist paedophile rapist, but he is undoubtedly himself. He's not putting on an act - that's exactly who he is
  5. Get it done. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem getting rid of them if you changed your mind
  6. Bit of revisionism going on here. Corbyns manifesto seems radical mainly because everybody is singing to the Tories tune. They might have lost the election bit it seems everyone has bought their arguments Corbyn manifesto would be centre left in any number of European countries
  7. I had heard of them but that has caught my attention. Sadly no gigs lined up but I'll check them out if they hit Brighton
  8. The broken doll is absolutely spot on here, for me one of, if not the greatest pop single ever released Back in the 90s we used to go to Love Muscle a gay club at the Fridge in Brixton, and one of the highlights was always Atomic dropping about 3am It was a great night, as long as you stayed downstairs. Upstairs was a real eye-opener
  9. I love the Fall and that is a stone cold classic Some great covers as well
  10. Came across this impressive footage of the back of my grey dome from Melt Banana the other night
  11. Off to see the mighty Melt Banana tomorrow. Should be awesome
  12. I'm in an airbnb I Devon at the moment and it's been fantastic. Only problem is every time I go for a piss I think of @Gemmill
  13. I saw 3 of those. Penetration, Wire and the Rezillos, in retrospect missing the Talking Heads was a mistake, and I never got to see them Saw the Boys a couple of times. My favourite thing about the Boys is the way they realised Terminal Love sounded the same as Knocking on Heavens Door so the they just segue into it on the record. Probably cost them a fortune in royalties Must dig out my copy of To Hell with the Boys and annoy the wife
  14. Looking back it was ridiculous how lucky I was to live through that time. This was a typical gew weeks
  15. I'd been moved to Liverpool before I achieved gig going age. Eric's in Liverpool was my rkegular haunt until the filth closed it down I'm on the far right of this picture at the ensuing protest. The great man Pete Wylie front and centre (obviously)
  16. Hmmmm? https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/labour-given-4m-from-tax-haven-based-hedge-fund-with-shares-in-oil-and-arms/ This sort of thing does worry me
