All true, but demonising and setting up as an existential threat to democracy just plays into his strong man image, and helps him more than hinders. You've got to offer something and make their lives better, not just patronise them
-
Because if you blame them you aren't addressing the problem and we will keep losing
-
Also they didn't vote for Trump because they liked him, on the whole they don't,they voted for him because they believed he was better for them financially. Its not a moral judgement its a fiscal one

The US and UK are the same, and Johnson and Trump are the same except US is ruled by money and UK by class The same will happen here unless Labour radically improve the lives of the poor and the disengaged. This won't happen with a sensible 5/10 year plan it will only happen if they address Brexit and properly tax wealth and fix the country from the bottom up Without this, and let's face it, it's not happening Labour hasn't a hope in hell of being re-elected and whichever loon is leading the Tories or Farage or Johnson will be back

So much blaming the voters in this thread, its the olds fault, it's the youngsters fault, it's the Hispanics fault. No its not It's no good proclaiming an economic miracle when inflation means the poor can't put a meal on the table The Democrats didn't win because they didn't give people anything to vote for. Their whole platform was orange man bad. Their whole platform was a money making excercisr and viewed from that perspective it was a resounding success. How many times did you hear how they were outperforming Trump on raising money. Now they can go into overdrive raising more money for the next election Starmer needs to take note here (he won't) Labour needs to make people's lives better not just be manegerially more proficient. Inflation cost the Dems and in reality its probably what got Labour elected. Most voters are low information. 5 and 10 year plans to gradually turn things round when they are seen to be cutting pensions putting the poorest bus fares up and leaving children starving Also don't underestimate the Dem/Labour response to Gaza in depressing support. I've heard Trump will be worse for Gaza. How exactly, it's already a fucking genocide supported by UK/USA So basically stop blaming the voters and the leftists when the centrists, let's be honest neither Dem/Lab are in any way left, offer them nothing

First chance I've had to watch the game and having Willock playing like that makes such a difference the whole team. He works so well with big Joe on the left and makes him play so much better With Longstaff between the defence and midfield and Willock linking mid and attack we seemed much more joined up as a unit It would be glorious if Gordon works on the right, team seems so much more balanced Full backs were great, so much potential there Hopefully exciting times ahead

Never really listened to the Cure since 3 Imaginary Boys, but this one has hit me hard. Think I might be having some sort of existential crisis
-
I actually think she comes over as a much more normal and relatable person than not just Trump (obviously) but Starmer Sunak Badenoch, in fact pretty much any politician I can think of

You talking about Liz Truss?

That's quite the bump

If you've got 2 people going to work 5 days a week that's 20 quid a week plus whatever they put kids fares up by to get to school Much of the reason for the cap was to get people using public transport again as it is do much better for congestion and the environment. Bus usage down here has just got back to pre civid levels Fuel prices are down 50p a litre from a couple of years ago so as goid a time as any to end the duty freeze

Judging by the size of the arse I'd say Alan Foggon

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/oct/28/englands-bus-fare-cap-will-rise-from-2-to-3-in-2025-says-starmer Raise bus fares by 50% but freeze fuel duty. Not really thinking green

Unless it's a blowout either way think it's going to be a couple of days before the result is confirmed, so I'm definitely avoiding the actual night

I'm resigned to Trump winning Harris will win the popular vote, but the electoral college is such an inbuilt Republican advantage, there is so much voter suppression, so much media bias and dark money behind Trump that I don't think she has chance Dark days ahead

Happy to wait and see, but investment has to be good news

Two reasons why Trump is probably going to win. Firstly he has managed to get the election to be about immigration which is always a winner to get massive chunks of the population riled up. The less we'll off get to blame someone else and the better off are terrified of losing what they have The Dems have failed to get the story away from immigration so they are fighting on Trumps territory Secondly people hate people who are not authentic, and Trump may be a racist paedophile rapist, but he is undoubtedly himself. He's not putting on an act - that's exactly who he is
