My sister in law is currently over there visiting elderly relatives. They're about as inland as it's possible to be in Florida, thankfully. Torn really, worried about her, but it's a relief that their aunt and uncle have some younger fitter people around to help board up the house and what have you.

Nor does it mention that that Humpty is the King, but he is.

Well, I know that I would be cockahoop if my already extremely expensive outlay just got much, much more expensive.

I wonder how it will impact their takeover.

It's not going to mean we're free to do whatever the fuck we want, but it might free us up a little?

CL football means more money, better players, deeper squad. Which means better chance of competing for domestic honours.

It's money though, isn't it? Sky and TNT can pay £6.7bn for the Premier League because they can pass the costs onto the customers and the advertisers. Would the PL get £6.7bn from users and advertisers if there was a subscription based PL app? There's also the infrastructure required to handle such an undertaking.

You have to hope so, because Mackems can't.

This is it for me. They're not going to tart up SJP, when they could build something new.

Well, sure, but even if "money is no object", it really still is an object, isn't it? PIF aren't going to splurge £2bn on a stadium when it's just a money pit, are they? Especially if Spurs just had a brand spanking new 60k stadium, in the heart of London, for half that price.

With a bottle of Pinot and a rotisserie chicken?

Newcastle United face £1bn bill to redevelop St James’ Park (telegraph.co.uk) For £1bn I'd want more than tarting up the Milburn and Leazes and adding an extra 8k seats. Also, in that article it says that a new stadium would cost £2-£3bn, which doesn't make a whole heap of sense to me when Tottenham's new stadium 'only' cost £1bn. And given that's a massive build, in London, I cannot for a second think that a build in Newcastle would be two or three times more expensive.

I can hope.
