  1. Using the predictor from here https://thefishy.co.uk/calc.php I predicted these results And got this final table
  2. You think that's bad? I want Everton to beat Chelsea tomorrow.
  3. That's the thing, as long as CL football is mathematically possible, it should provide motivation. We have a decent run in, no European football, no domestic cup distraction, some players coming back to fitness too This season has been very good. I think Luke Edwards raised a good point. Has this season been as impressive as the others under Howe, when you consider all the injuries and suspensions, tough draws etc. 1st rescues us from odds on for the drop, to 11th. 2nd, transforms our style, gets us into CL, excellent defence, etc. 3rd, almost navigates out of the Group of Death, 2 domestic QFs despite unbelievable draws, potentially gets us into Europe, despite being unable to consistently name our best 11.
  4. I accidentally bought a pot of manuka honey, only realised when I went through the receipt of a surprisingly expensive shop. £18 for a fucking jar of honey!
  5. That's just his starting position, with Tonali and Joelinton moving box-to-box, Bruno can join attacks later. Obviously if we bought a 'proper' DM Bruno would play more as an 8. But until then he's the best we've got in that position
  6. What I don't understand is that PSR/FFP has strayed so far from it's original remit, I don't see why it's still being spoken about like it's anything other than a way to stymie ambitious clubs with wealthy owners. It should be a measure to prevent clubs spending more than they can afford. There are better, more flexible ways to achieve that. If Forest want to spend £60m on a Brazilian left back, they should be forced to prove they have those funds liquid, and the funds to cover his wages across the term of his contract. If they can? Then all power to them. Is it buying success? Well yes, just as it's always been. But for any club to launch a serious assault of the increasingly entrenched 'elite', they must be allowed to flex whatever advantage they may have. To deny them that right is to be anticompetitive.
  7. You also need a sweeper keeper.
  8. As a long term admirer I feel vindicated by the glee the rumoured extension has been met with.
  9. Fetishising O'Nein (did he even play against us?) is no different to fetishising Cattermole. Just a limited footballer who likes to kick people.
  10. xG - how good the chance was. If you took a shot from that chance 100 times, how likely is it that it would end up a goal. E.g. a penalty is scored 70/100 and so has an xG value of 0.7 Post shot xG - how good the shot was. If you took that shot 100 times, how likely is it that it would end up a goal. E.g. put the ball into the top corner farthest from the keeper , high PSxG. Dribble a shot straight down the keepers throat, low PSxG. So say a keeper keeps loads of clean sheets. You do a little digging and see that he faces a low xG because his team doesn't give up a lot of good quality chances, but the shots he lets in are low in quality, low PSxG. Turns out despite all those clean sheets, he's not a keeper you want. Ideally you want a keeper that makes saves despite facing high value shots. So you want a larger positive difference between PSxG and goals allowed.
  11. He'll be off to join Reform now. That's the career path isn't it?
  12. What he should do, is not present as a cunt and maybe the manager will put their match on one of the TVs? Works for me when I want the Newcastle game on instead of one of the Manchester clubs.
  13. If Joelinton does stay I think that makes Bruno more likely to hang around to be honest.
  14. The defence of Bruce aside, I think he's all right. Got a personality trait where he'll act the cunt just for the fun of it, and who here hasn't done that?
  15. Did he have a rotisserie chicken dangling from a headband? Y'know to encourage him to run?
  16. The only upside to estate agents is you don't have to have fucking weirdos try to sell you their own house through companies like Purple Bricks. Gen Pop is an asylum
  17. Which makes his appointment (twice!) all the more infuriating. It was pretty obvious he wasn't working with all the puzzle pieces.
  18. Aye, I think what's most entertaining is that this random bloke has decided to make it his life's mission to establish a deep connection between the two clubs. Despite the fact neither club's history agrees, and more importantly, nobody cares. Imagine Quiff insisting some Newcastle fans created Santos while on their gap year. It'd be weird, false and pathetic. Which would be apposite, I guess.
  19. Our goal difference is a huge plus. 14 better than Man Utd, 17 better than West Ham and 10 better than Chelsea. Honestly think if we take points off Man Utd, we're in pole position for 6th spot.
