Stan Seymore won stuff as a player, manager and director/chairman didn't he? Manager/Director all rolled into one at one point if I'm not mistaken. Mind you, we don't want to remind Ashley and Lambias of that!
-
Canny that, I'd read a lot of the same stuff. Let's himself down by saying we've only won the league once though!

I take it you mean his assault on his son and subsequent suicide. From what I've read I don't think its something so bad that it should be an issue.

Let's all laugh at Sunderland (once again)
David Kelly replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
They generally are a boring team and have been for years. Spectacular relegations and subsequent promotions aside, they spend most of their premiership time interesting no one. -
Available to listen to on Itunes for free now. Enjoying it.

The fact that we're nearly a hundred years on without another title is certainly depressing. Chances are it will become less and less likely that we'll ever win it again the way football is going. Someone like Hughie Gallagher surely should be as recognised as anyone else from our History though?
-
Surely there's players and or managers from way back in the past that won titles and cups that could be argued are at least as important as Keegan? None of our fans would be old enough to have seen them most likely and I do agree that Tooj's point about where would we be now had it not been for Keegan is valid, but we won the league 3 time in first decade of the last century. Surely some of those players or managers should have more legendary status than they clearly do!

Recommend me a good restaurant in Newcastle

Been there a couple of times and thought it was good both times. I've heard good things about the Black Horse too but everyone else I've heard mention the Red Lion has been positive too. -

Don't talk to me about sophistication. I've been to Leeds! It's pretty broad comedy to be fair but that didn't stop it being funny. -
Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition
David Kelly replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Hope he does well. It would be nice to see the likes of him and Sammy show that they can be good enough if they are allowed to progress in the correct manner. Would have liked to see him go out for the rest of the season rather than a month like. -
We've said that for years though while the likes of Leicester, Birmingham and the smoggies all won the league cup and yet we still don't take it seriously whether we're in Europe or not. In reality it's far easier to win the League Cup than the FA Cup but (this year aside) we always have a go at the latter but aren't interested in the former. Yes we would all rather win the FA Cup but given that most of our support has never seen us win anything but the championship or the Intertoto, we would all be in raptures if we won the league cup.

Now for me Yellow is pretty much the only Coldplay song I can bare. Any time Celine Dion sings on the other hand I want to have a run in with Mr Blonde!

Aye you can't go off the Liverpool game as that wasn't the team we will be facing. They're a decent team but nothing more, this is still a very winnable game if we approach it in the right manor. That's not me knocking them, but they're not in the same class as Spurs for example who we matched in every area apart from Welsh wonderkids.

How do Ashley's other business deals affect us?
David Kelly replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
It gives him £100m more cash than he had that he could theoretically put into the club for improving the squad. I hardly think this is a likely scenario though and we will continue along the same path of having to generate our own funds for buying players. -

Aye, I'd done a few cans and a bottle of wine in when I watched it so that probably helped -

Been to one of the ones at the fish quay, the one next to the tunnel and the one in Heaton park and I can't complain about any of them. Like you say, they are what they are. If you fancy going out for some food but aren't flushed they're spot on. -
If there's ever been anyone prove why he should be banned it's him tbf. I was never massively in favour of banning him in the first place but every time he posts anything on twitter it's always the same shite and it's clear he's never managed to understand why he was banned. If he got back on I'm sure he'd be worse than ever and every single thread would just go back to him saying that he was right all along and everyone else was wrong despite no one actually arguing with him. Poor fucker!

Best cheesy pop song for years that man! Anything by UB40 or Simply Red!

Strangely I picked out at random two films that were about pretty much the same subject matter but tackled in very different ways. I knew pretty much nothing about either of them except that they were classed as sci fi. The first was The Island which was pretty shit (Michael Bay so who would have thought!) standard sci fi fare with Ewan McGreggor (sporting a wank american accent) and Scarlet Johansen (looking as hot as I've ever seen her) finding out that they are clones that have been secretly grown for organ donation by Ned Stark and getting chased across the country. The second was Never Let Me Go which the ex had asked me to get but then was never in the mood to watch. I never knew why until I put it on a watched the depressing and slow moving tale of Keira Nightly, Carey Mulligan and Spiderman also being clones grown for organ donation. I has to be said that this is a much better film, far more intelligent and moving but god is it dull. I fell asleep after a hour the first time I tried to watch it and only watched the rest so that I could delete it off my computer and make space. As bad as I feel for admitting it, The Island is a much better watch but really it was shit and I'll be deleting that too as soon as I can be arsed. I also watched The Bourne Legacy and Skyfall over the weekend. I actually liked Bourne more which I was surprised about given the poor reviews it got but they were both enjoyable. I saved the best for last though when I watched Ted. Again the reviews were nothing special so my expectations weren't high but I found this really funny. The party with Sam Jones was excellent as was the thunder song. I can never make my mind up whether I think Marky Mark is a shite actor or a good one but I definitely enjoyed him in this. Funniest film I've watched in ages. -

The Beehive was taken over recently by the people who had the bay bistro in Whitley. I went there with bairn and me mam and dad not long before Christmas and it was nice. Renton's spot on like. There's no where particularly good in North Tyneside. -
I can back this up like. The place is dreadful, full of mongs in slippers and pj's. I've also never seen a "city" center with so many second hand shops. If you think of the worst street in the center of Newcastle (maybe Clayton street?) it's better than almost every street in Sunderland. My ex brother in law is from Sunderland (although they were a family of Newcastle supporters) and he won't set foot in the town centre and he could walk there from where he lives. Even the mother in law who was makem born and bread said it was a dive full of the dregs of society.

What's the longest you've gone without sex?
David Kelly replied to ChezGiven's topic in General Chat
The longest I've ever went was while I was married (should have been my clue the marriage was over right there) and that was well over a year. Much like Andy I then went on a shagathon until I met the a lass I spent the next three years with. I've got a mate who's gone more than four years now. I think he's pretty much lost interest now which is very sad. I'd have been to a hooker well before that if I was him. On that Real Mens Roadtrip that Sean Locke and John Richardson did a few months back, John Richardson said he went eight years in his twenties! I don't know how he can lift anything up! -
Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
David Kelly replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
The type of club he'd want to go to though (eg PSG) wouldn't really have much of a problem with paying for him if he's on a big contract so I can't see it being a big issue for him.- 1745 replies

What a mong. I did wonder how this would go down and that's a lot worse than I thought. Hopefully there aren't too many that brain dead or it could harm the lads chances of doing anything there. I think if the situation was reversed I can't see many of us being arsed (apart from the fact that any player from them wouldn't be good enough for us). It really is funny that they have such feeling for us when aside from when we play them we couldn't give a flying fuck what they do

£200 to get an emergency visa on top of the cost of getting there! Too much for me like. Would love to get another European game in this season as Brugge was mint so I'm hoping to get through and get somewhere more accessible in the next round.
