I actually think it benefitted from not being a Marvel studios film mind. Their polish has gone a bit too far now for me, I liked (to an extent) the fact that it was a bit clunky. If I'd paid to see it it, I would have less than impressed mind. I went to see A Simple Favour last night. It's a bit of a weird film that comes across as Gone Girl made by the Hallmark channel. Reasonably entertaining but again I wouldn't have liked to have paid for it. -

Venom. It seems to have been getting panned by critics and took about five minutes to see why. The dialogue is poor, there's surprising little chemistry between Hardy and Williams and the performances in general of the three strong leads was poor. That said, by the end I found myself quite enjoying Eddie Brock/Venom combination. It feels like they missed a trick with the humour there could have been with them but what they got in was quite good fun. -
People are welcome to them.

Do you think teams will be queuing up to sign most of our players? The likes of Lascelles, Lejeune and Shelvey will most likely be away but I think the likes of Joselu, Atsu, Manquillo, etc won't have a hell of a lot of good options. Basically there's not much in the squad that I'd be afraid of losing.
-
That'll be dropping the way we are playing this season as well.

I couldn't get past the first episode of Vinyl and as no one else said anything particularly positive about it, I never tried. I watched Final Space over the weekend. A bit like Rick and Morty but not quite so mental and with an ongoing story. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Or anything else.

Rondon's out so we're relying on Joselu for goals again.

The Predator. Not quite what I was hoping for given that Shane Black wrote and directed but it's still an enjoyable action romp. The very end of it seemed a bit unnecessary though. -
Rafa's heroic hunks v the Islington guardianista cunts

Yeah the other top 4 chasing teams we played actually have a chance of making the top 4 so they were always going to be a tougher proposition. -
Aye it’s on fx in America

Can one of you mods not just lock this thread. I know I could easily ignore it but it just gets right on my tits to see some mug bump it every time he scores.

New season of It's Always Sunny has started. Let's Make Paddy's Great Again!
-
Obviously losing every toss hasn't helped them, but really it's been their batsmen's (Kohli aside) inability to deal with the conditions that has been the big difference as well as us have a few more bowling options with all rounders.
-
I think India have had us in positions where they should have put us under real pressure but apart from Trent Bridge they've totally blown those chances. The first match where we won by about 30 runs was close but after they blew their chances fairly early on in the other two, it always seemed a knocking bet that we would win. In that sense I don't think it was really as close as it could have been or that some are saying it has been. And it's only really Kohli who's kept it at all close (in a batting sense as obviously their bowlers have done well).

Looking very likely now!

We've said it before but Hameed looked like the answer but his form is so shot you wonder whether he can ever recover.
-
Hales is a player I do feel sorry for getting jettisoned so quickly. But he does illustrate the risk of moving someone up the order just because they open well in the shorter form. The fact that they've given him an unsuccessful try (combind with his part in the Stokes incident) might make it more likely Roy gets a chance over him going forward.
-
Hales would certainly be a formidable number 9.
-
The lack of alternatives is certainly an issue I think. I think they will have to give Burns a try. I hear he has a bit of an unorthodox style but then so does Steve Smith. With the amount of runs he's scoring year after year he has to surely be given a chance. I wouldn't be completely surprised if they give Roy a try out. I know he plays middle order for Surrey but the fact that he's a success at international cricket in the shorter forms might be enough to get him a try. In the same sense it wouldn't be a complete shock if the gave Bairstow or even Buttler a move up the order. The way Ed Smith has been talking is very much, just play the best players we have regardless of what position/format they are used to playing. I'm personally not convinced you can do that with an opener but we might see it happen.

Hi was hoping likelihood that we have to take Jennings away in the winter might relieve a bit of pressure from him and get him a score too. Unfortunately his mind looks completely scrambled.
-
Brilliant way to end a test career. Think it shows how his heads not been completely right for a while.
-
Collectively they are a really weird bunch like.
-
You have to wonder if his head isn't really in it. He looked so good when he first got into the squad but he's very disappointing since.
