The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread 2018 -2019

So after selling Merino and Mbemba for about £17m, Rafa's been allowed to splash £3.5 on replacements. What a genius owner we have. -

Skyscraper. Absolutely brilliant. As a film set up to provide the Rock with the chance to do ridiculous stunts in a stupid cross between The Towering Inferno and Die Hard, it is a total success. My only disappointment was that (and apologies for the spoiler here) they wasted the opportunity to squeeze a peoples elbow in there somewhere, because it would have been perfect with the tone of the film. -

I've heard the clause is expired now but fuck knows if that's true or if it was ever more than a rumour anyway. At the end of the day, regardless of what he get's allowed to spend, he's on a fantastic wage and he enjoys an unbelievably good rapport with the support. That's enough to keep him here until the end of his contract but I can't see any way it could be enough to make him sign a new one. -

The First Purge. I know this sounds a bit daft given the general premise of the Purge films, but this was a bit too far fetched. Still i quite enjoyed the bits when it stuck to copying The Warriors and Assault On Precinct 13. -
No idea, I watched it on Terarium. It's only just had the first episode on in NZ from what I can gather so you might struggle to find it on legitimate sources at the moment.
-
Can’t believe you left the promising bit.

Just watched the first episode of Wellington Paranormal. Sort of spin off from What We Do In The Shadows with the two coppers becoming a sort of NZ Mulder and Scully. Really promising.

Not exactly what we excel in. -
Fuck the lot of you

Cobra Kai was really quite good and I really enjoyed the ending.

Don't think i'd recognise any of their players now if they walked past me in the street.

I agree, Rondon is decent and miles better than Joselu. That being said it would be another transfer disappointment to see us spend decent (for us at least) money on a player who is proven to not to score a great deal of goals in this league. A player of his age who's never managed to hit double figure premier league goals isn't really someone who as I would envision being able to score the goals that could move us further on from where we finished last season. -
I'm sure we all hope that.

Went to see the second Sicario film last night. Thought it was lacking a bit of the complexity of the first one but was probably more instantly enjoyable for me. -
But it clearly was though wasn't it. Still I'm all for lauding it but it's not in the same league as Banks.
-
It's late and I'm still at graft.
-
My point entirely. I can still be impressed with the athleticism but it has no real impact.
-
Great save. As I see it, it's like watching some wrestler pull off a moonsault in WWE. It looks impressive but we all know it has no real effect. Pickford made a hell of a reach to make that save and, as you say, since he'd had next to nothing to do for the rest of the game it was also impressive for his concentration. But it didn't impact the game positively for us at all. If he'd done worse we'd have actually been better off. That's not his fault and he should be rightly proud of it. I've made saves (not anywhere near as good as that) that have meant just as little in the context of the game that I've probably been just as proud of (in the context of my ability compared to his).
-
What the context that it led to a corner that cost us the win in 90 minutes
-
I thought that but last night was some of the worst I've ever seen and most of it was unpunished either on the field or by VAR.
-
Despite the fact that I was joking before and strawb was totally correct that Pickford couldn't have known it wasn't on target, I don't see how you can compare it to Gordon Banks save when the shot wasn't on target. Taking nowt away from Pickford as he did great to get a hand to it. It simply can't be as good.

Very true. I wasn't being serious and my first reaction was that it was a superb save. Thought the pen save was excellent though, very strong wrist when he was diving the wrong way.
