  1. Tbf I like the kid. I think he has definitely got potential and be more than happy for us to sign him.
  2. Didn't it come out a few weeks ago that we had some sort of agreement in place to sign him? Maybe not nailed on but something that would put us in a strong position. Fwiw I certainly don't think he's of the standard at the moment where he could get anywhere near PSG or Munich's teams and I don't see Chelsea giving him much game time either. They are having a poor season but they have better players than him already so it doesn't make sense for them to backtrack. It's much more likely they'll just spend more money. I think a lot of our support are overhyping him tbh. He's certainly an improvement on what we had and he's doing quite well but you'd think he was the new Ginola the way that some people go on about him.
  3. I quite fancy us for this one. I would have preferred that they didn't have such a big lead going to Moscow and that they were taking Aubameyang but they seriously look the worst Arsenal team since Wenger has been there. And we're long overdue a win against them. 3-2.
  4. I watched some of it last week. There's certainly flaws to it but it still stands up there with some of Willis's best films for me. Halle Berry is stunning in it too. And Predator 2 is excellent too. Mainly because Bill Paxton basically plays Hudson from Aliens in it.
  5. Don't start with Gemmils shit. I went to the cinema to see it. It was a 9.20 showing on Friday night so it wasn't very busy. Dunno whether that made a difference. I don't usually get scared with horrors. Mind you I usually think they're shit so I don't watch many.
  6. Dummett is doing really well now it has to be said. He's never going to be able to offer much going forward (despite having a decent left peg) but he's defending really well. I'm happy Perez has scored the winners in the last couple of games but he still needs replacing. The amount of times we lose possession because he is weak as piss is ridiculous.
  7. I saw that the other day too. I thought it was pretty well made and acted but I struggled to get over the gaping plot issues . I found it worse than Signs in that sense. I also went to see Ghost Stories the other night. I have to admit I was shitting myself somewhat at the Paul Whitehouse section. The other two stories weren't quite as strong and the ending was a bit of a let down but it was still well worth a watch. It's certainly one of the best horror's I've seen in a long time.
  8. They couldn't manage to utilise the loan market in the Championship despite having spend around a decade in the premier league so I certainly wouldn't bank on them being able to do it in league one. The whole club is fucked from what I can see. I don't rate Coleman anyway but I'll be surprised if he hangs around for next season. Surely this can't have been what he was sold as the outgoing Wales manager. If that's the case I can't imagine they'll be an attractive proposition for other managers beyond the ones who are already at that level. That'll reduce their attractiveness to players further.
  9. I don't see how the size of the club helps them when they have nothing to spend. Yes players might be more interested in going there than Northampton but they appear to be so fucked financially (hence bringing in league 1 players this season) I can't see them being able to pay for them. Add to this the culture that has been around the club for years and the fact that they will have endured consecutive relegations, on top of losing generally for the last decade, and I really don't see a club the looks likely to be involved in a promotion push. Unless of course there is a dramatic turnaround in the summer.
  10. No I meant each. I think Borini has a fee agreed of about £5m. If they've got more than that for him they've negotiated much better on their sales last summer than they've managed on a purchase for the last twenty year. If they're in league one next season the value of those players will automatically drop no matter how well they've done this season while on loan because everyone knows there's no chance of them playing for them again. From what I read a while back, Djilobollocks has been utter shite.
  11. Fuck me I've just looked at their squad. It's staggeringly bad for a club that was in the premier league last season. I would say they might get more than a million for Kone and Oviedo out of the players that are currently there. I can't see them getting more than £5m for anyone including their players out on loan unless they managed to negotiate a fee of more before they went.
  12. Aye that's a bizarre line about selling players for a large profit Fish. Anyone who they have paid anything for is now worth less than what they paid for them (even taking depreciation into account) so the only chance of profit is from their kids and while a couple of have broke into the their team, none of them have done anything to suggest they can recoup what would be considered a large profit in footballing terms. I reckon there's not many of their squad that are worth £1m+ these days.
  13. You would have thought they'd have been in a similar position last summer.
  14. There's no cooking in it they way that Stein does but there's always a fair portion of the episode devoted to going to places and eating the local food. But in the episode that he did in Detroit he spent a fair bit of time looking at how that city has been crumbling since the motor trade moved out. Similarly one of the last ones I watched focused on how a small town near Boston was struggling with prescription med's. It's not all about America, he goes all around the world. An episode he did in France was much more food focused, as was one in Spain. The first one was Myanma I think and there's obviously a fair bit of politics in that one. You'll probably be able to see straight away from that one whether it's worth the bother for you.
  15. Blackburn went down with more points than the mackems could get if they won all of the remaining games. Wigan also went down with 11 more points than the mackems currently have and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) Wigan had only just been promoted the season before. Both of those clubs (even with Blackburn being owned by Venky's) always looked better suited for a promotion challenge than the tramps currently do. Of course anything could happen with their ownership over the summer that could change things dramatically and you only have to look at Burton when they were promoted or Shrewsbury this season to see that in that league it's not uncommon to see someone come out of nowhere to at least challenge for promotion. But with the way things are looking like heading for them at the moment, a third relegation looks more probable next season than a promotion.
  16. I think nachos are ok as long as you finish them before the film gets going. Can't really see the problem with hotdogs or ice blasts (apart from being disgusting). Basically as long as you're not making a noise I couldn't really give a fuck. I get much more pissed off with people going to the toilet five minutes into a film or before the end. I mean I realise sometime you just have to go but surely you can wait a couple of minutes or have gone before you went in.
  17. I really like his Parts Unknown series. It's similar to Rick Stein's long weekend programs but goes more into the culture and politics of the places he visits. For someone like me who pays far less attention to what's going on in the world than I should, it's quite informative as well offering up some great looking food.
  18. I went to see Ready Player One yesterday and I pretty much echo Gloomy's opinion. There was a fuck in it at one point which I thought was strange given the rest of it was very much aimed at a young audience I thought. The 80's stuff (particularly referencing stuff like The Breakfast Club and Ferris Beuller) might be a bit too much for younger people but there's enough else going on for it not to matter too much I'd guess. We went to see it at the imax at the Silverlink and that was a real revelation. Adjustable seats and trays for your nachos/popcorn is great. Any time I go to see a long film I'll be trying to go and see it there. The comfort level is miles better.
  19. Aye I watched the first hour or so and it was a great start to the day. Plenty of work to do before the summer let alone next winter methinks.
  20. It will be interesting to see how this effects them going forward. I agree Warner is a cunt and as such I don't think it will effect him so much. It might do much more damage to Smith and it would be a shame if this was the defining moment of his career as he is clearly a world class player. Some people would find it very difficult just to come back to their best after such a long time out, let alone with something like this hanging over him.
  21. I see Smith has said he has no knowledge of it happening previously. Not exactly an unequivocal it hasn't happened. I think it's highly unlikely it's not gone on before probably with Warner instigating. There's quite possibly other younger players who are feeling very relieved they haven't been caught and chucked under the bus like Bancroft has.
  22. Yeah and I think that's good to see. We've seen the way football has gone with diving and players surrounding ref's, I'm happy to see anything positive being done to stop cricket heading the same way.
  23. Well there was never any doubt they'd not be missing for a world cup or Ashes series. I still think they've been pretty strong with them. Be interesting to see what the Aussie take on it is. It seems like there has been a backlash against them so I'd like to know what they think of the ban.
  24. Smith and Warner banned for a year and Bancroft 9 months. Feel a bit sorry for Bancroft but he's shit anyway so he'd probably not played much anyway. Can't believe Lehman has escaped with nowt.
