  1. We desperately need a new 9 and 10. I assume Mbemba will be away so we need another centreback for cover at least (Lacelles and Lejeune are more than acceptable as first choice), an upgrade on Yedlin and Hayden would also be more than welcome. That's in addition to signing/replacing Kenedy and Dubravka.
  2. Aye Lejeune got injured by Kane in that first game and Lacelles came on to replace him.
  3. I doubt he's even close to that when you think about some of the players we have signed for around that amount in the past (Andy Cole leaps to mind) but I do take your point that we spent next to nothing on him in this age and we've more than had our money's worth from him.
  4. He gives up possession far too much for me and I think in that position you need to have a player who can keep the ball and take pressure away from the defence. He also very rarely manages to beat a man (he's not the only one by any means like).
  5. Whether he's better than the likes of Keane, Maguire and Mawson I don't know as I've not paid a great deal of attention to them. But the fact that they are around and have been more highly rated in some circles is good for us in hoping he stays, because it means he's not necessarily the standout choice for other teams looking for a new centreback.
  6. I generally think Perez is dog shite but towards the end of the season he actually popped up with a few goals and yesterday I thought he was very good. If he could regularly play like that I'd be over the moon, but more often than not we get the Perez who played against Everton. Hope he can be more consistent but if we're still relying on him come the start of next season we will have failed in our summer recruitment.
  7. He's one of very few batsmen that have been near the England Squad who is. Wood has 3 wickets so far today.
  8. I've always liked Superhero movies and as I've previously said I really enjoyed the new Avengers one. But I agree with Gloomy that there is just too many of them these days. I think it's more Superhero Fatigue than Spiderman Fatigue (the new film was just boring). Fish is right that there is plenty of other options out there if you want to go to the cinema and see something else. I go most weeks and I do get to see plenty of different types of films. What I do feel though is that the options of action films these days is limited and disappointing. It seems that all we get is either a Marvel, a Fast & Furious or Liam Neeson doing his latest version of Taken. The variation and quality certainly appears to have dropped. KD is also right, if you don't get a chance to go to the cinema often and are unfortunate enough to try and go a time when the latest Marvel (or Star Wars) film is in full swing, you can be very disappointed in the options you have. Anyway I managed to catch some of Casablanca and The Princess Bride yesterday morning. Two great bank holiday films.
  9. I was bored out of my mind throughout Civil War. The plot holes didn't come into it for me because it didn't engage me at all apart from Spiderman. Which made it strange that Homecoming also didn't engage me in the slightest. The stream I was watching of it cut out half way through and I've never bothered going back to it. Ultron I really can't remember what happened now but I know it was wank.
  10. He's on at All Points East when I go there next bank holiday weekend. Can't say I'm massively bothered about seeing him mind although I've not heard of a lot of the other people who are on past Bjork, Beck & Flying Lotus.
  11. Was that Thor bit worthy of a spoiler? I don't think you need to have seen the last Thor at all but it's worth watching as it's one of the better Marvel films anyway. My mate hadn't watched the Dr Strange film and aside from him not having a clue who Wong was, I don't think it hampered him at all. Personally I think anyone's life would be better for not watching Avengers 2, Spiderman Homecoming and Civil War.
  12. Fuck all I suspect. He’s just got to pay for their massive losses each month. If he can get shot of their bigger earners he might be ok. But I suspect they could end up supplementing some of their wages to get rid of them. If it doesn’t start well for them and they aren’t selling tickets he’s going to have problems covering what they’re losing. Even with reduced wages I imagine their monthly payroll dwarfs every other club in that division.
  13. Agreed. I’ve had too much to drink to work the spoilers thing so I’ll not elaborate. I agree with Fish that Thanos is a good bad guy. Don’t think it had more heart than the first guardians. Second maybe.
  14. Don’t need to have seen all of them at all. Having seen the last captain America will certainly help but since it’s turgid I’d advise against it. Same with the previous avengers. You can probably get away without seeing dr strange, black panther, the second guardians, Spider-Man and the last Thor (although I thoroughly enjoyed Thor and guardians). Quite a bit of the one liners but there’s plenty of them that come from the guardians and Thor and as such are fine imo.
  15. Aye, Louise Taylor called him an experiment that didn't work then scored him an 8 out of 10 last week.
  16. Yeah but it's Spurs so that more than evens it out.
  17. Surely Sunderland fans must have their own chapter in Psychiatric text books now. Their ability to completely dismiss any truth they don't like and blame it on the mysterious Geordie conspiracy to keep them down surely deserves a syndrome named after it.
  18. Dunno if I'd have it better than Guardians but I certainly enjoyed it more than most.
  19. Don't believe Gemmils hype. I'm amazed you've not seen it already tbh. It was really only because there's fuck all else on at the moment that we went to see it. My mate hadn't seen the second Avengers or Dr Strange so there was a few people he had no idea who they were. He still managed to enjoy it though.
  20. Another team beaten by Newcastle in Leicester this season.
  21. Mitrovic has played as much for us since January as he would have had he not gone to Fulham. I also believe that he's much better than Joselu but either Rafa doesn't (I don't believe this is the case) or he has other reasons for not playing him. The only reason to think about Mitro now (as long as Rafa is here), is to wonder how much money we can get for him.
  22. I've not said anything about what happens in it, just what I felt could happen right from the the start of it.
  23. From what I can gather, they're still making losses so while not having the threat from the debt over their heads is clearly a good thing for them, anything else is going to be hugely dependent on what their new owners have to put in. At this stage we have no idea who their owners will be so it's impossible to know how much benefit they are going to see. My first though is though that even without the debt, they are going to need cost cutting for at least this season so it's really still very much up in the air whether or not they will have any sort of squad capable of putting together a promotion challenge. Having new owners who aren't actively trying to get shot of the club must a positive for them though and positives is what they need more than anything.
  24. Totally agree with this. It takes us playing at 100% with the players we have and it's no wonder that subconsciously they have relaxed a bit now that the job is done. I mean, I'm tired of the season and looking forward to a break from it all and I'm just watching. I do think that Rafa will get into them about this though and it certainly wouldn't surprise me if we don't pick up a fair bit on Saturday. Was nice to see that even with a poor performance we are still managing to be tough to beat and solid at the back. Apart from the Man U win, Dubravka has had very few saves to make in any of his games.
