I was considering this too. Dunno whether it's just my own lack of belief in gods coming into play but there seems to be a theme of the gods not being gods in GOT but just beings with some sort of supernatural abilities. The White Walkers are considered gods by some but they were just created by the Children of the Forrest to battle the first men. The old gods seem to be to do with the Three Eyed Raven too. So maybe the Lord of Light is just connected to TER too so it is now Bran. His ability to see the future would allow him pass prophesy on. I thought the episode was really good apart from being far too dark to the point where it was difficult to make out whether characters were being killed and who they were. Ayra and Leanna Mormont were an absolute joy, the Dotharki's flaming swords and then being wiped out was brilliant and the two big deaths ( everyone knew Ed and Beric were on their way out) were both what the characters deserved. I still think it was ridiculous that the characters that are basically supposed to be the smartest men in the world (Tyrion and Varys) never considered that a room full of corpses would might be a bit dangerous when they were battling a bloke who can raise the dead with the simplest of gestures. With regards to what the whole story is about, the name of the series of books is A Song Of Ice And Fire, which tends to suggest that the fight against the dead is the main point. But the show being called Game Of Thrones goes the other way. For me, having read the books and watched the show, the politics and wars for control of Westeros is what most of the focus has been on.

Nice one, I won't bother looking for what I missed now. I actually liked Ragnarok more than the other Thor films. I think he does fit comedy really well, but I wasn't impressed with how they did it this time. -

Glad to see people have already had it spoiled so I can feel safer in my own review. I'd say it's at least an hour too long (I assume I missed something in the end titles but I really couldn't be bothered to sit through them) and not nearly as good as the last one. I thought what they did with Thor looked a bit stupid too. I quite liked where they've left it though. -
In the books it's often mentioned that it gets much colder when the white walkers arrive. And in the show at the end of season 2/start of season 3 when they appear at the fist of the first men, the cold certainly appears to come with them. I think they seem to hibernate in the summer/less severe winters, but come out when it gets bad, but they seem to make it worse too.

I think Dragon Tits showed her true colours in the last episode when Jon told her who he really was. It was interesting to see that to him the issue was his love for her and for her it was that there might be someone (well there is someone but the proof isn't going to just be believed by everyone) with a better claim to the iron throne than her. I don't know whether she will go postal but I don't think she's going to be happy being the queen to her uncles King. Regarding Ned, Littlefinger took his bones back to Catlyn and we can assume his skull was with them (or it would have been an insult to them rather than a peace offering) and there is an assumption that those bones were took back to Winterfell (Jon and others have been down in the crypts to visit their 'father'). Whether or not a corpse that has had its head removed could be risen by the Night King remains to be seen, but if Sean Bean had been anywhere near the production you would have thought that there's no way they could have kept it quiet. Cat or Robb could possibly be there too as we've never heard anything about what happened to their bodies although Robb (in the books at least) was spoken of as having Grey Wind's head stitched onto his after the red wedding so if that's the case there is the same headless corpse question about him too. Personally I'd think if there's any of the dead Stark's who we have already met going to rise it will be Rickon, but I think it's most likely that it's the long dead Starks who will pop up.

I think they could have easily covered the first two episodes in one longer episode. I guess we'll have to see how the next four episodes pan out to discover how whether they have paced it correctly though. It seems they're setting it up a bit too obviously for some dead to rise from the crypts with the amount of times they've mentioned it's safe down there. I'm hoping this is a bit of a bluff or it's going to be something more surprising happening down there.

You could argue that a few of the bowlers, Curran and Willey maybe, haven't done a great deal recently to cement their place. And in Curran's case in particular, he's never he's never really cemented a place, he's only played 13 times. I would think he'll be the most at risk. Willey offers the left arm option and I think Plunket deserves his place more than both of them. Woakes has to prove his fitness but I don't think there's any chance of him being left out other than that. Wood's overall record is probably the worst but again with his pace and the form he's showed recently, I think he'll be in baring injury. Which given he's missed Durham's first three matches, might not be out of the question. Of course Archer has to actually perform in these games, he's only played in 14 list A games so far.

Aye the Last Jedi had the shadow of the prequels all over it. -

I think I'm in a real minority who really liked Solo. I just thought it was a really fun film. -
They never like to point out that when we sell a player, we then don't have to pay they wages that they like to tell us all goes into the purchase price of a player. It's all one way with them and the media seem to just lap it up without bothering to challenge them on their shite.

Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace
David Kelly replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Thought Almiron was better than he'd been in a few weeks on Saturday. At the end of the day, we did more than enough to win that game comfortably. But if you don't put your chances away you'll get punished more often than not at this level. Nothing to be concerned or particularly excited about though. -
They'd all be sent off in the first five minutes these days unfortunately.

I've never met anyone from here who goes out on the drink in that shit hole. In fact when I used to work there, most of them much preferred going out in Newcastle.

It's difficult to pick out any one player for a poor performance because on the ball it was pretty much awful across the board. Lascelles obviously cost us with the second goal and the one worry I have about him is that when he starts doing poorly he really lets it effect him for the rest of the game and his performance gets worse and worse. I really hope well look to replace Yedlin in the summer as he really does have very little other than immense pace.

I'd be surprised if you didn't know it down to the last person mind.

Mind, when you see what £50m gets you these days's, he's probably not that far wide of the mark.

That's ok, no cunt from outside this area has any clue who mackems are.

Crazy Rich Asians. Allegedly a rom com but they seemed to completely forget the com part. Even Ken Jeong fails to provide any humour at all. Absolute dross. -
I've been listening to the original radio 4 Knowing Me Knowing You. It's some of the best Partridge stuff that's ever been done.

Captain Marvel. Didn't really fancy it that much but thought I'd better see it before the Avengers finale. Was actually a lot better than I expected, helped by the 90's setting and soundtrack. -
I don't think he would have been expecting us to push for a top 6 place this season. I think he'll have been hoping to get the backing to have us comfortably in the top pushing towards about 8th. He's not daft enough to think we can push the top six without serious financial backing. I agree with those saying they think he really wants to stay but I don't think Ashley will do what's required to keep him.

Uncalled for.

Not knowing the ending and having no idea about climbing, it was without doubt the most tense sequence I've ever seen. Seeing it in the cinema made the scale totally terrifying.

Well with Longstaff rumoured to be out for the rest of the season, we're going to need him back playing shortly. Although I'd be playing Ki first.
