I feel a 100+ pages-thread is coming...

Jormany starting with two gold medals. YEAH!
-
Ha, ha, are you watching Graeme Souness??! Walking in a Roeder wonderland...
-
That's how you frustrate the crowd.

Yes... 92777 In what sense? As far as I remember, as soon as everyone figured out their long ball game, they started to lose. O'Neill jumped ship when they were on the down. Or do I remember wrongly? 92784 You asked if he achieved more, winning two cups is.. 92785 Finishing 9th, 8th, 5th and 12th with Leicester isn't too bad. Even if they were "on the down" at the end, always finishing midtable and above is overachieving IMHO. 92786 Fair enough. Would he be the man to take us to the level we all want to be at; or would we be looking to get midtable every season too? 92787 Well, would ManUre and the Scousers look for midtable positions if they signed O'Neill? Even if the rumours linking O'Neill with these clubs are the base of his reputation I do think it's not too bad to get linked with a manager those teams as well as England (allegedly) were/are interested. It shows they right ambition. I would also prefer someone other, but think that out of the British names O'Neill would be the best choice.

So will he be here by the end of the week?
-
I think it's fair to say that he's said more sensible things in a week than Souness has in 18 months. 92727 Och aye, under the tosser the dressing room was happy, too. Allegedly.
-
It's funny what a difference a week can make. I am now really looking forward to games again. I don't expect us to win today, but now I get the feeling that on a good day everything can happen.

I have to say that I am really impressed so far with how Roeder is adressing the problems. Even a questionable decision like omitting Luque from the team sheet is handled well by giving a proper explanation. If you buy it then the assesment of Luque's fitness state is a slap into Souness's face. But there other things I am really happy about as well, like Roeder explaining his stance on the defence. That's a nice change of tune to the tosser's "I've done nothing wrong, everything is fine." and the baffling lack of self-criticism.

Trappatoni on his way at Stuttgart
Isegrim replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
I loved that press conference when he started banging on the desk, they shoed it on Gazzetta Football Italia. 92153 This press conference was GREAT. Trapattoni would probably struggle in English football, but our central defenders would definitely improve under him. I wouldn't totally rule out Hitzfeld for the Stuttgart job as he played for Stuttgart, but think it is unlikely. 92366 They've already appointed someone else haven't they? 92390 They gave him a contract until the summer. -

Well, difficult... Current players: 1) Ashley Cole 2) Ashley Cole 3) This annoying, fouling and diving left back from Arsenal Retired (?) players 1) Gus Poyet 2) Gus Poyet 3) and this Uruguayan mincefaced tosser

Craig Bellamy. Treatable or not. Discuss.

Well, we should follow HTT and post all Hitzfeld threads in a special Hitzfeld forum...

Scolari played a very defensive "dirty" type of football in Brazil, and a very exciting attacking type of football for Portugal. My main worry abouy him is his ability to speak English, but I suppose Robson coped didn't he. 91628 Robson had a certain capable translator to his disposal...

It was rumoured on the 606 forums. If it were true, you'd have seen a lot of money going on Hoddle this morning, which it hasn't. Same happened with Souness IIRC. 91493 Im guessing that a fair bit of cash has went on Hoddle seeing as his odds have dropped dramatically. He was down to 2-1 favourite with ladbrokes at dinnertime 91566 I bloody hope not Isegrim, what do you think his relationship with Shearer would be? 91577 Well, Hitzfeld has dealt with a lot of strong characters during his time (Matthäus, Effenberg, Sammer the most prominent ones) and he only fell out with Helmer (who then moved to Sunderland). I can't see how Hitzfeld would have any problems with Shearer. I even wouldn't rule out Hitzfeld offering Shearer a coaching role.
-
Hitzfeld only had one person that was working with him constantly. That's Michael Henke (the Jorman version of Phil Thompson). Henke had a short spell as manager at Kaiserslautern but was sacked after very few months. But I think in the case of Hitzfeld the backroom staff isn't that much important. He only needs someone working alongside him for the fitness training and a couple of other people working after his instructions. I think this would most likely be English people.

but better than Robbendive tbh. My list: 1) Zico 2) Keegan 3) Beardsley / Brian Laudrup / Mehmet Scholl

Yes, those poor fellas were devastated when we sacked Souness....
-
Just for the record, nowadays I don't hate Chelsea as much as I used to do when the bastid Poyet was playing for them.

No, because you didn't add "Having said that, he shouldn't have been sent off for celebrating his goal a few weeks ago, so it's sorted itself out." to your post... 90874 Ok, do you think Robben should have been sent off for that? Regardless of who he plays for? 90877 No, but I can't see how this is relevant for the incident involving Reina ... ... unless you want to play the referee's cock-up down and exculpate Robben in some way.
