It'll be fun supporting a team in the championship you know, just for something a little different.
  2. Daniel Sturridge - Massive Citeh Words cannot describe how good this kid is. Dunno how much he would cost but you would want to buy him right at the start.
  3. I guess I got lucky that Man City came calling when I left the Melbourne. Unfortunately my team choked on the final day of my last completed season and I came 5th, missing out on another champion's league adventure. Fortunately thanks to being in the CL I had a 40 million transfer budget so I just went nuts. Strangely in my game Newcastle are title challenges and have heaps of money. They keep trying to buy Daniel Sturridge off me. Bastards. There's a tip, at the start of a new game buy Daniel Sturridge. The kid is unreal.
  4. I'm already getting the 'stop playing that stupid game' line from the missus. I can't help it.
  5. A mate gave me a cd with the torrent and the crack. But of course I own a genuine copy....
  6. My mate playing a game in the Serbian league (why?) and Newcastle got relegated. So he's given me the save game. This will be fun
  7. Inter weathered the storm and regained their three-goal advantage when Materazzi headed Cordoba's free-kick in from six yards. The Italy defender lifted his shirt over his head and, in doing so, paid for an earlier booking with his second yellow card and subsequent expulsion. He enjoyed his walk of shame too much for referee Stefano Farina's liking and the home fans didn't take kindly to his victorious salutes either, but they were able to cheer for themselves shortly after as Gilardino reduced the arrears once again. So basically he's an idiot.
  8. 4-4-2 I'm too lazy to tinker with tactics. And I find with fast, skillful wingers and full backs I dominate teams.
  9. That's an interesting philosophical question
  10. I started out as manager of Melbourne Victory but won the A-League in a canter so I resigned hoping an English club would pick me up. Man City were deep in relegation trouble and saked Pearce so I applied and got the job. I saved them on the last day with a 5-0 thumping of Watford which gave me enough goal difference to survive. Over the summer I didn't make much in the way of signings, but poached Freddy Adu on the last day of the window. Somehow I came 3rd in the league, thanks to another 5-0 thumping on the last day, this time against Sheffield Utd. I also got what I like to call the Perfect Five. Liverpool 0-2 Man City Newcastle 1-2 Man City Chelsea 0-1 Man City Man Utd 0-1 Man City Arsenal 0-2 Man City
  11. Disgusting. Espeically bad given he's only 30-odd. At least wait until he's done somehing more in the next 20 years of his life.
  12. I read a rumour that you can't edit english teams. Is that true?
  13. I think the desktop resolution needs to be at least 1280x1024 for windowed to work. There was a command to force window mode in fm05 but I can't remember it. I seem to get a dodgy decision against me every single game, it's giving me the shites. Take my last match for example, against Arsenal (I'm Man City by the way, don't ask) Barton got a dodgy red card, the scored a dodgy equaliser and then I had a legitimate last second winner disallowed. Fucking infuriating. Still I good game but....
  14. No doubt about it It's just that Sydney people are slightly more pretentious than us. it's all relative
  15. It seems that Newcastle's players really didn't like Theo, which is surprising as I've always thought Theo was one of the best Australian coaches. As for the Sydney fans, they are a bunch of knobs. I mean, who calls their supporter group The Cove. Seriously. Ours aren't much better in terms of fairweather but at least we aren't pretentious twats.
  16. Sydney FC 1-2 Melbourne Victory Nothing better than beating those bastards in their own shithole. Actually there is something better... Melbourne Victory.........9...24 Adelaide United..............9...16 Queensland...................9...15 Sydney FC.....................9...12 Central Coast................9...11 Perth Glory....................9...10 Newcastle......................9....9 New Zealand..................9....4 Looks fantastic.
  17. Ahh summer is approaching
  18. We sure are, and the benefits are already obvious. For one, we're top seed for the Asian Cup and will probably be top seed for qualifying. We play more competitive matches against better opposition than previously. Plus, it gives the Solomon Islands a chance to qualify for the WC. Which can only be a good thing.
  19. agreed, same as Oceana. Lump them in with Asia. Fuck the costs. FIFA can cover it. Same with CONCACAF--lump them in with CONMEBOL. I agree that Oceania shouldn't have an automatic spot, but for the sake of the region (and the AFC, which already has too many nobodies) they should keep it how it is. In any case, it will probably end up being 5th place AFC v Oceania for a World Cup spot from now on, at least it should be. It's irrevelant to me now anyway, Australia are not only in the AFC but we're the highest ranked AFC nation. Plus with the success of the A-League (that is, apart from the token NZ club), football has never been better in this country.
  20. Melbourne lost 1-0 at home to Adelaide United with Adelaide coach John Kosmina grabbing Kevin Muscat by the throat on the touchline. There goes our winning streak but we're still clear at the top. Off to Sydney next week. Should be fantastic. Incidently, Melbourne now has the three biggest attendances in the history of domestic league football in Australia. Not bad for a two year old club.
  21. Having just been in Hiroshima and Tokyo in the last month that's a pretty scary thought. There will be massive loss of life if a bomb was dropped in certain areas of Tokyo, massive as in millions.
  22. Not as bad as Tokyo to Narita Airport, one and a half hours on a fast train. And some idiots take taxis
  23. Sometimes that is a fair call but in this case West Coast were the best team this season. I started drinking at midday and didn't stop until 8am the next morning. Even if you're team isn't involved, GF day is awesome. And Melbourne was absolutely pumping last night.
  24. Melbourne Victory 5 15 Queensland Roar 5 11 Sydney FC 5 8 Adelaide United 5 7 Perth Glory 5 4 NZ Knights 5 4 Newcastle 5 3 Central Coast 5 2 As you can see, too damn good.
