  1. Aye, they are a selling club but it's fucking Swansea is that the level of club you see us as Blackandwhite? They're also probably not in a financial position where they can turn down that level of money, not many are, Newcastle now is probably stable enough to turn down 20m bids for Sissoko but they wont. As Alex and Andrew have pointed out Swansea are also willing to give the cups a go and they will probably re invest a decent amount of the money in this window with a replacement which is something we don't do under Ashley, we tend to feel confident we can survive until the summer where players are cheaper essentially, as Alex said, giving up on the season.
  2. Aye, he'll do well there then move on to a decent Championship side with fans of that club then pointing to the fact that he played at Oldham. The chants will no doubt be brutal like you say
  3. Yeah I'm pretty sure they're confident we can limp over that 40 point line for another season of exhilarating safety.
  4. Aye, sometimes the quiet to the media part of Ashley's ownership works well but tbh it can be pretty boring to follow things like this. I think it would be fine if we were all confident they were going to go and make a good decision but there is the nagging worry they're going to appoint some random old English bloke out of nowhere, if the rumours of the choice being fully up to Charnley and Carr are true it does settle me a bit about those worries though.
  5. He can put you to fucking sleep though.
  6. Sounds about right, unless we can actually put a good head coach in place who can actually create a system that makes players better rather than hoping talented players can improve a weak system.
  7. I'd certainly hope that's true, his 2 games have been fucking terrible tbh and the majority of the problem has been his selections and subs. I'd love to see someone brought in before the Chelsea game, I'd still let Carver stay in charge for it as I don't think it'll matter too much and gives the new guy over a week to settle in before his first game in charge and we'll probably get battered either way.
  8. Yeah I figured his value around 12m which is why I'm worried that's what we let him go for that. I'd hope it's 20m as I don't see the need in selling him for anything but a good amount over his value, then again I'm sure it's part of the agreement of bringing these players in that we'll be reasonable with the fees when a big team comes in. Just yet another player that needs replaced, I really don't want Anita filling his role.
  9. Aye just think it's ticking that French player box while getting one of the better French players in that position. Shame tbh as he's a good player to watch (like Cabaye was) I hope we've held them to a fucking ransom for him mind but no doubt it'll be a 12m or so fee.
  10. And to be fair Carver is a proper knacker
  11. Aye good summary Fish. Agree that it is probably most likely it'll be a foreign coach as it fits his ideal system. The problem with the old guard idea is you end up with people like Redknapp and there's no way blokes like that would be comfortable with someone like Charnley picking which players come and go. I also don't think there's any chance of Carver being the long term option tbh, he doesn't have it in his locker to be a manager at this level and although I think he'll possibly be head coach until the end of the season I think even that is a risk of relegation. I think McClaren is probably the most likely of the English managers linked although I'm not sure how comfortable he is in a head coach role (was that the set up at FC Twente?). As with any decision like this under Ashley it's an utter fucking mystery tbh but I do agree the foreign coach option is probably the most viable for what his plan seems to be.
  12. Well he doesn't have to worry about any of that, he can walk around Nice with his kite out and not have to be judged.
  13. By honesty is he meaning none of them lied about how fit their lasses were to him?
  14. They need to knock it on the head linking us to all these good coaches, it'll make it all the more frustrating when we get some old nobber we'd all thought had given up on a career in football.
  15. Probably why Barton got shipped out in the end, The King remembers those who question him. To be fair they did start the match with 2 up top and then after taking the lead and being all over Dover in the first half they changed to 1 up top and played a bit deeper so he had an impact on the game for sure.
  16. Ben Arfa would fancy his chances in an all you can eat race at Lau's buffet though.
  17. When was the last time Ashley ever said something on record about the football side of things? This list of 5 is just made up fluff by the papers who are yet again in the dark. Aye, a lot of Palace fans seem to think he was responsible for finding our better signings.
  18. I can't see it happening, if it does then Ashley is just costing himself a load of money with the inevitable relegation that would follow the appointment. As I said before I don't even feel confident this bloke can pick up the points needed to see out this season, let alone have a full season in charge. His decision making is fucking woeful and he's possibly more of a prick than Pardew. I think Ashley will appoint a proper manager tbh, the Hughton thing worked well but Hughton was pretty highly regarded as a coach anyway I've never heard similar said of Charver Carver.
  19. On the evidence of these two games (against 2 of the worst in the division) we're really going to struggle to stay up with Carver. If that rumour about Tuchel has any truth in it I really hope Ashley is persuasive enough to get him to cut his sabbatical short.
  20. Okay and? No one on here wanted Carver to be Manager, he's as thick and as much a cunt as the prick that just left. Hopefully he follows his grey haired mate out the door sharpish and we can get a professional in who can get a team playing half decent football and doesn't let his side get turned over 4-0 with alarming regularity.
  21. There was an article somewhere about the Palace fan response to him, putting aside the usual stereotypical guff about us expecting to be in the Champions League every year a couple mentioned how great he is at finding players, mentioning Perez in particular as an astute find by him and this morning they were linked with Yaya Sanogo .
  22. Good riddance you horrible cunt of a man. Wish relegation on them.
