  1. Mackems have a harder run in iirc, not sure about Bolton. Need to get past them this weekend first ofc.
  2. Listened a few times over now. Not what I expected with it's eerie abstract sound. But, certainly a grower and tracks like Codex I think will make this another hit in time.
  3. I personally don't see Villa as much different from Birmingham City, a boring midlands club who lack identity or significant fanbase, there's little more to say about them other than the fact they have by far had more draws in the Premiership than any other team highlights their drearyness. We're viewed as an interesting club with some unique about us, demonstrated by the fact we're on live TV generally more than much better sides like Tottenham and Chelsea, so as much as you'd like to think so we're a lot more than just another club. Without doubt outside London and the North West we're the only club of any interest nationally, that's where we sit - a nemesis people have tried to work out but never can. I'd also suggest that what makes NUFC an interesting club is that it is synonymous with being a Geordie. Geordies have a huge global identity. Unlike the mackems that most people outside of football haven't even heard of. Scousers are generally associated to Liverpool and Brummies could be anything. You know yourself when out of the country how Manu times when people hear your accent they say "howay the toon" or "shearer!". We just have a big identity. Most mackems just get classed as Geordies as to the untrained ear we sound the same.
  4. Course we aren't any kind of super club, but I suggest you go away and look up some history before making any kind of statement about it. Honestly, you made yourself look a bit of a tit here Many club had a golden period, Evertons was recently the 80's. Neither NUFC or SAFC have much to shout about of late but of course we've done a hell of a lot more in recent memory. As for villa, Bent joining them doesn't make them bigger than your club man. Just because he had a hissy fit at Gyan being no 1 or as is porking fuck face's daughter. Villa are nowt of a club and not a shade on NUFC, Evertons or yes SAFC.

    Fad Diet's

Nah, don't work. Weight loss is easy to do hard to keep in place until it's a habit. The simple equation is to use more energy than you consume. The problem isn't fatty foods (well it is to a degree but the wrong fat, hydrogenated) but simple carbs. Most people eat far too much simple or starchy carbs (my main failing). That is turned into energy and stored as fat if not used. Best way to lose weight and keep it off is get in to good habits and eat right. Easier said than done like... Prime example of mistakes people make is eating fat free (fat is usually replaced with sugar in the ingredient) or low fat stuff. Ready meals generally are crap. Full of salt and bad fats. If I'd only listen to myself ....
  6. The way you've written that implies that you really wanted to see Yogi so took your child along as cover, rather than you taking them to see a film. Thats the way it was meant to come across man
  7. Downloaded this today. Working in London for a few days next week so this is for my train down.
  8. I thoroughly enjoyed Gran Torina like. Just watched Buried. Considering it has one visual actor, it was canny. Canny "oh fuck" moment as well. Also went to see Yogi Bear, in 3D!. I had my 3 y/o with me so it didnt look too bad. Wasnt great like

Well worth it like. Bit of a fanny on to cook but it was lush
  10. The Bolton game could be a tough one but vital given their place in the table. I do think we can nick it though. Everton at home is another winnable one. That said, 6 points from these two? We're not that reliable so we'll prob drop points against one of them. I reckon we'll get beat at Stoke by some long throw into the box type goal. Prob beat Wolves and get a point at Villa. Get beat off Liverpool and Man Utd but beat Blackpool. Beat Brum and get beat of Chelsea before ending the season with a win at home to West Brom. 17 points from the remaining games, say 15 as I assume we'll drop 2 points against another Id expect us to win. This would put is on 50 and a likely top half finish. I'd be very happy with that all things considered. My problem (I know this has been done to death) is that I think seeds are being sown that in the summer we will loose the likes of Tiote and Enrique and bring in lesser replacements. You wont find a tiote with every deal you do. For every Tiote we get a Perch. Rather than push on, we'll do well to retain position and the team morale that has carried us in many games this season will be eroded if the players dont feel progress is being made.

  13. From Pardew in the Journal. Not exactly certain that is it? Everytime I read something Pardoo has said it's almost like he is asking for people to put a bid in. If you choose to interpret it that way. On the other hand he's just saying what we know already, it's the way the game is. Perhaps more so then it shows my total distrust for the club.

  15. Why? A club legend has a birthday and no one can be arsed to leave a memory. Its a fucking disgrace. I hold SBR in the highest regard and so do those who left their regards. You're more worried about point scoring? Stevie told me on PM most on here arent proper NUFC fans. Sadly it turns out he was right. So what you are saying is, unless we post something on a forum to join in your little game, we aren't a decent fan? Or that in some odd way it's a taint in SBR's memory? Prick. You're a WUM and a shite one at that.
  16. Tax man will have his say in April don't forget. Which is why we amortise our player assets to produce paper losses, so we can reduce the tax bill. Is amortisation tax deductible though? Obviously with traditional fixed assets there will be certain capital allowances, I'm not sure how it works with footballers. Can major companies amortise the contracts of their key personnel for tax purposes? Its a loss in asset value which is part of the profit and loss account. The more asset values are amortised, the more paper loss the club has, the less tax it pays. Indeed. But depreciation is also included in most companies P&L, even though it isn't tax deductible. Although as I said, the tax system allows for certain capital allowances on machinery purchased. I believe clubs can reduce their net profit on this basis and therefore pay less tax. You're the accountant though, you tell me! Not sure if you know, but if a players value is depreciated to £0 over the term of the contract, when they sign a new one I assume they dont revalue the player? as that could increase the bottom line were it needed? I also assume wages isnt taken into account and just taken as an overhead?
  17. You know the Carroll fee is gonna be used in every single player we get linked with. Im bored of it already, I best stick my head in the sand come summer...
  18. I assume you forgot your wink. Here, have mine
  19. Spacka - Dunno, I just find use of that really offensive. There was a lad at school with that as a nickname as well. Kids are fucking horrid
  20. Every player has a price and if someone comes in with stupid money like they did for Carroll then its bye bye. If the money is re invested in the club then what's the problem?? Also if he wants to asset strip I'm sure he could have flogged Jose,Collo and Jonas by now Its not a case of asset stripping, its a case that every player is basically purchased and played with the ultimate aim to shift them on at a canny profit. Turning us from a football club into a shop window. ie have a good scouting network that unearthes young, lower league or foreign talent, buys them cheaply, pays them a fairly low wage and then when they hit the big time sell em on at a profit. Every player has their price, trouble is ours arent the silly, Carroll type amounts that mean we hold onto them, Carroll would have been sold at £20m it was simply Liverpools stupidity that meant we got a lot more. e'll have valued the likes of Tiote at an amount they can see as being good profit yet still likely to mean we get willing buyers. Id guess £10m would see him pushed out the door. The 6 for Enrique being a valid value based on the shortness of his contract. Chelsea's surely? Id say Liverpools, they could have paid us £25m, still sold Torres for 50 and pocketed an extra 10, this logic of we want to make £15m seems ludicrous to me, it should be a guide to what you'll be happy with but not laid down in stone. Either way, the only set of fans to end up unhappy in this will ultimately be us, although Chelsea possibly could be narked based on his start! My understanding of the situation is very different. Henry has stated very clearly that the price of Torres was based on the price of Caroll +15m. This was to add to the Babel money to pay for Suarez. Henry also says that the Torres £50m offer was on the table first thing on monday morning. This can only be logically interpreted one way: everyone in the market knew that Carroll was available at £35m , take it or leave it. Abramovich knows Henry will sell Torres for 15m on the Carroll price so offers the 50m. Any other interpretation concludes that Henry is talking shit since the Torres offer was a coincidence. I've looked at this every possible way and there is only one conclusion if you believe Henry, that the price of Carroll drove the market. If we dont believe Henry, then there is fuck all else to go on. as was said during the whole of January by some of us [bar the asking price which we didn't know at the time]. How much are Enrique, Tiotte and Barton available for ? My guess would be something like £10M, £8M and £5M.
  21. We could be fighting to stay in the CCC and they top 8 in the Prem and we'd still be perceived as a bigger club. It's everything that goes with it. the figures for gate receipts speak volumes to me.

    Other drivers

I reckon I could post something in here every day from something someone has done. Todays would be people who just have no road awareness. Like sitting to turn right when oncoming traffic is also, but not letting people in the junction also trying to turn right come out. People who refuse to merge in turn and sit as close to the person in front.
  23. "fine thanks" When you make a telephone call to someone and they answer that when you havent even asked how they are.
