This, he was hot and cold every other game last season, and more of the latter. Hopefully Ashley realises he is an asset that, if played to his potential at the WC, will have an inflated price come the end of next summer. One more season Yohan, one more season.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team

That stat is mind boggling! I keep forgetting the big turn around of managers this season, with ferguson gone, Moyes and Martinez rotating and Pulis sacked. 8 year contract, could be the next Wenger....!- 10610 replies

I'm desperate for Suarez to make the move to Arsenal now.... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/8859049/phil-thompson-why-would-luis-suarez-choose-arsenal-over-liverpool

Debuchy's effort would have been a beaut! Shame that's probably the closest he'll get with it once it replaces 'The Williamson' and teams defend the move every single corner we take.

Watched the few trailers that have been released for 'Gravity', http://gravitymovie.warnerbros.com/index.html really hoping this is a good movie, the few snippits have me hooked. Presumably a similar concept to 'Buried' which I enjoyed, but set in space which I enjoy even more. i was thinking 'the only downside is Clooney and Bullock', but having thought about it while typing, realised that I actually like a lot of movies with Clooney in (the Thin red line, O Brother..., Up in the air, to name a few), and Bullock, well, always turns out smart on the big screen. BTW, is there a seperate thread for trailers, couldn't find anything doing a quick search -
Celtic almost lost the title to Motherwell last season, Motherwell. You should be steam-rolling that league every season with no Rangers, yet you lost 20 % of your games last season. !! granted we lost more of less every other game. but still, I'm trying to make a point dammit!

He has proven many a time he's a good player to bring on in the last 10-15 minutes if we're want to nullify a game, have someone we can pump it up to when where under pressure etc, but as a player for 90 minutes, starting from scratch with fresh defenders, well he hasn't been that player ever really and yet we start him so often.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alan-pardew-says-newcastle-united-5672403?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter "Shola is coming on nicely and Gouff is coming on too" This sentance scares me. Hopefully Pards simply means in terms of pre-season fitness, not progression as a player.

We are the Chomp-ions, my friends.... no?!.....

anybody know if Remy has travelled with the squad? Presumably Pard's will be trying out formations / final tactics (you would hope, anyway), so he mightn't have featured as such in any training ground work, but he must be near match fit and could possibly get a cameo in the last 10 minutres?
-
watched this a few times now, love it!

"Joe, you're in the way, we're trying to take pictures of Remy, you know, the guy you just signed..." http://www.flickr.com/photos/40191515@N05/9448225379/ (sorry, can't find a way to embed a flikr image)

Doesn't improve our first team. He would have been a good asset last season with our Europa League commitments, but if he is looking to get regular first team performance, I can't see Pardew starting him week in week out with the likes of Arfa and now Remy competing for similar positions.

my main gripe with past Newcastle / Puma strips hasn't been the quality of the material as such (haven't bought a kit in years but check them out every season in the shops), but its the badge quality. I don't mind the sponsor logo being a print / transfer type, in fact i imagine the players love it (the home kit the year we were relegated, the NR logo must have weighed a tonne and felt like a patch of cardboard), but the actual Newcastle badge, it is cheapened so much by being the same.
-
Excellent news, now lets just hope he hasn't been poking his pork in unwanted bacon and dissapears next month!
-
Anybody heard any updates on how his medical has gone? seen there was a couple of images posted by the chronicle of him entering our training ground but nothing more. Presumably if it goes through today they'll have him featuring at some point tomorrow against Rangers you would think? has he been involved much with QPR's pre season?
-
That's probably it, forgot about that rule. cheers,
-
All their fans were wandering around near my flat last weekend, the home kit looked poor (although no patch on the back!) but their away kit, chrikey, is vile. reminds me of a 20/20 cricket top. Both kits looked shocking material qaulity also, but i think they at least had a stitched badge
-
Hopefully this will be the case re:first refusal. Not sure there is anything stopping us going for a permanent transfer, I think it's more just QPR thinking they can bounce back up and potentially keep a hold of their player.

Just quoting what I heard on the wireless, i'm trying to find it myself, nothing on the official site. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/419731/Aston-Villa-insist-Newcastle-are-not-close-to-signing-6m-rated-Darren-Bent

my only concern with this is that, come January and IF he has been cleared, then other teams will start to poke their nose if he is playing well, and he'll wait til the summer to choose a club further up the table.
