  1. we didn't loose him though that's the thing, WE SOLD HIM OF OUR OWN ACCORD! different story if we was injured for the season, but he makes it out as if we're short on numbers and its nobodies fault - we had a month to sort our numbers out not one day Alan, new knew our squad was waffer thin at the start of the window!! boils my piss sometimes!
  2. Stop it, it hurts. With Gyan alongside him up front it will really be like our top-line 0f 08/09, all they have to do is stick Reid in there for their very own Viduka.
  3. I really don't get the logic with this one. Ashley knew how low he was with the fans, and you could say he had done a lot through the championship campaign to keep a low profile, takes a few blows and come out with a little more credability (although any from nothing is something). And now to do this? In a lot of fans eyes his credability to 'have the fans in mind' has sunk to new depths, it's like stamping his footprint all over our ground. I really cold have taken this with a little bit more of a pinch of salt had it been a new sponsorship not associated with nufc previously, but to use his own store just feels like a kick in the teeth regardless of whether that was his intention. Hanging A banner is one this, but painting it on the roof, for fuck sake it stinks of permanent.
  4. I think it's a good, if slightly forced move, by hughton. The longer we go with the number 9 shirt in exodus the more pressure there will be on the player who evenually wears it, and then if that goes tits up 'lets all blame the number'. There is an article on the mirror sie - nothing special to read but the photo is puzzling me slightly. It's a photoshop job right? Surely that's a backdrop from the shearer testimonial. Probably a dumb statement, but i would love it if they finally gave St James a black and white seated section again like the old family enclosure in the east stand http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Andy-...icle531173.html
  5. It should hopefully be on only one computer as we're going to project it (tried it for the portugal game and the quality is fine). My concern was more to do with a lot of the country possibly straming it and whether this has any effect on the lag / qaulity? The games on the bbc work fine at the moment Well it might have an effect. dunno. I've never had any problems with the BBC online stuff though I.E F1/Tennis. yeah that's what i was thinking, hopefully won't have any problems. Cheers

  7. Is anybody going to be streaming this game? We've managed to persuade our boss to let us come in early today and tomorrow so we can watch the game, but we tried out the tv and freeview box at lunch and turns out the arial is screwed. We're thinking of streaming it on the bbc, but worried that it will be overloaded with people at work and keep stop starting - will this effect it or is it simply down to bandwidth of your pc and that's it?
  8. Its over before it's started; Germany surely to lift the cup? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12040_6174582,00.html
  9. We really need cover in this area, Routledge has given our midfield something it has been missing for many seasons, pace. He's had a big impact on the football we've played in the second half of the season, with his speed given us a out-ball away from home instead of just booting it up the pitch aimlessly to relieve some pressure, something we're going to need even more in the premier league. If he gets injured, we've nobody who can really fill his boots (Jonas mabye but he is by no way as direct as Routlege is, perhaps he should be though) Ambrose would be a good call, but he would not be a guarenteed start and you would think thats what he want given the success he is having in the championship week in week out.
  10. I was watching the Championship highlights on the BBC website during my lunch break, and it got me wondering what people's opinions have been on it after a season in the fizzy pop league. My initial response to this is that i've enjoyed having highlights to every match easily available on the site, all be it a day or so after the game, and the fact we've had a lot of main coverage on The Football League show. This show has also opened my eyes to watching more football in the lower leagues, as i used to hate 'The Championship' on ITV, everything about it felt cheap and budget to watch. My only fault is this; what is up with some of the BBC's camera coverage of matches in this divison? At times if feels like its filmed from a handycam by someone with an obscured view in the crowd. Take this weeks QPR highlights for example... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_1/8646620.stm its horrible at the best of times, the camera is all over the shot. Yet if this was a normal telivised game, the image would be panned across the pitch normally and no silly zooming during play. And this isn't just at smaller grounds, this has been the case loads during the season for SJP highlights. I know they Might not have all the smaller camera's in the ground there nearer the pitch etc, but surely the main camera and position should be used to record games if there for BBC use?
  11. i've just scrawled back a few pages and realised its the same as the sheff wed one someone changed from blue to black stripes, expect using a blue collar and adding the Northern Rock logo. I'm a fan, probably looks better though with a simple white collar as you say
  12. Just seen this on a football strip site, it was posted in January but i've never seen it before. If it turns out to be anything like this, i'd be very happy! Simple, clean, no fuss.
  13. anyone know whether the bbc will show the trophy presentation as its technically not the game and 'after scenes' which they always show, like players shaking hands and fans on pitch etc ?
  14. he was in the newcastle 3rd strip that was in Argentina colours.....honest! :/ and i think Neville nd scholes forgot where they were in the 'heated' machester derby at the weekend http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8635865.stm
  15. They must have heard me, back in a wigan top.
  16. he's been at wigan for well over a year. and yet the bbc still have to show him in a toon top when the press is bad http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/8636602.stm i'm sure he was all over the papers on monday in a wigan top when he scored against arsenal, yet the moment its a negative story he's shown back in a newcastle top.
  17. i really like the world cup one but not a fan of next seasons premier league balls. there's a really interesting video about the making of the world cup ball here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqEJUXmAN3Y ] and some good links down the side too showing players talking about it (most of what they say its pretty rubbish but some fun watching them kick it!)
  18. not fussed in the slightest if the puma logo is black, its a sports brand logo end of. Haven't the mackems only been known as the black cats for the last 10 years or since they moved to the stadium of shite?
  19. I presumed a similar thing, that Adidas would want to see us in their kit until the very end of the season instead of a puma shirt being worn on a match day prior to the end of the contract. Portsmouth however played in their new Kappa kit in the semi final against Spurs, but reverted back to the canterbury strip against wigan a few days later. Maybe their is a thing where the contracts run from last home game - last home game (although this wouldn't answer the Portsmouth issue)?
  20. That made my lunch break! both video's are awesome, the first especially is really well put together. The second is a lovely up yours to anyone who prayed we'd do a Leeds
  21. cheers, wasn't sure whether it was a definate rule or guide like you say. That Chelsea strip is a thousand times nicer than their current kit which looks more like the modern rugby tops, couldn't stand portsmouths canterbury kits. Having said that, they've now went to kappa who do even skinnier strips. I like the latest puma kit posted up on here, neat and simple, but would much prefer a non-skinny stretch strip. I still think this seasons kit is pretty smart and would be great if they got rid of the stupid white patch on the back and the black furry box around the northern rock logo, hopefully puma will sort both these issues out!
  22. Didn't there used to be some rule in the premier league that teams had to keep their current home strip for a minimum of 2 seasons, something about having fans fork out every year for a new kit. Was this stopped or am i making this rule up in my head?
  23. the ground is about a 25 minute walk from the city centre, but there a few good pubs near by on north street and closer to the ground. If your coming from the airport, if you get the shuttle bus it will take you to the city centre unless you get off in bedminster which is closer. I'm headin to a pub called th nova scosha with a few Bristol city fans as it's pretty neutral there apparently and closeish to the ground until I find where all the away fans coming down are The Shuttle bus actually takes you right past the ground. does it? My bad if it does, every time I've got it it comes down west street in bedminster and to temple meads train station. If you get off when you first get on to west street it's about a 5 minute walk to the ground (you'll be able to see it as it's all downhill).
