they have already bought quality footballers though. Ireland is a proven premiership footballer, why not buy him ? If he doesn't live up to expectations you just sell him again, and you might lose a bit of money ? Is it better to buy rubbish like Routledge and Perch and lose money on them too which is a racing certainty because they aren't good enough anyway ? All it means is you are operating at a higher level, and you Chez should be aware of the impact of stimulating interest and generating revenue by doing that, which has been shown at the club in the past anyway ? Its a good point Leazes but Ireland's mental state and form are under question so its better to try him out first. If he does come then maybe we have a right to buy clause too which manages the risk side of things. Not sure buying Ireland outright would be that much of a statement. The ability to get Villa to continue paying some of his wages and then possibly sell him is a strong business move. It does demonstrate the philosophy of the club though going after this type of player. For the record, i think financially we could risk about £10m this window and if the board felt our premiership status was under threat they would have spent. So chasing the bargains and thinking of survival sort of proves your point. However, Ben Arfa and Ireland are the sorts of names you'd want to be going after. I'm not too fussed if the latter is on loan for now.

If Sunderland qualify for Europe it may have a lot to do with 2 loan signings. Wellbeck and Muntari could be big players for them second half of this season. If Ireland plays and trains well then you would expect Ashley to buy him as he did with Ben Arfa.

Apologies just having a quick read through some old threads cos Peter revived me Stevie account, but this proves my psychic ability. Just 6 month later..... http://nufc.com/html/2007-08html/2007-11-03portsmouth-h.html Surely any doubters will pipe down now?

I tell you what is small time and embarrassing, completely bottling a derby because of an inferiority complex.

Pardew reckons we have two offers in.
-
In all fairness Sunderland needed those two players because they are a shit footballing side and lost their main goal threat.

What a clever post. Does your carer know you post on here? Yes he does actually. We have a care in the community agreement with south tyneside social services.

Liverpool bid £35 million+ for Carroll

and Spurs are acting bigger than us If we keep him, we've got something they want which puts us in the position of having a better striker than them. They can act big as they have the CL money coming in anyway. -

Liverpool bid £35 million+ for Carroll

We'll see. We'd be rejecting offers now anyway, whether we intend on keeping him or not. The time to get smug about rejected offers is 1st Feb, cos then we'll know that we weren't just holding out for a bigger offer on the last day of the window. So the Fat Man can't win at all just yet then, basically. Even if he rejects he's just holding out for more money. No, if he accepts one on the last day, he was holding out for more money. Get it? I think you've overdosed on the arsehole pills btw. Your patter in this thread has been fucking lifting. See me, i think people who reckon we'll sell him and make up claims about Levy and Ashley being mates are the ones with shit patter. ASM may act like a dick but he talks sense. I said it 4 weeks ago, name your charity and i'll donate £100 on feb 1st if Carroll isnt playing for us. -
He thinks your referring to his hoolie days by the sounds of things.

Hobbes man, possibly referring to the philosopher but more than likely of Calvin & fame. NO was the first forum i ever posted on, TT the second. I only discovered internet forums in 2005 when i moved abroad and couldnt be arsed with foreign telly.

The Cut Copy one is great. 80's synth dance pop in the vein of Hot Chip/LCD soundsystem. For example... I got In Ghost Colours when it came out, bt tat didn't impress me as much. Just downed this after listening to above, and it's excellent so far, might just make a purchase. Champion. I'm not so keen on the Iron & Wine one. In future, can you not leave it 5 days between 'am listening to it' and 'the review'. Been that pressed for time i nearly bought it on the basis of your mention without listening first. Will have to listen to it now. WTF am I like, your concierge? I wouldn't buy anything unheard on the recommendation of mugs off here Always have a gander here first... http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/ I know grooveshark man. I wasn't being overly serious either, think I was just in a daft mood. You're more bell-boy than concierge anyway.

One of my pet subjects this. Its been studied extensively, capital cities attract fit young women because thats where you find rich successful young men. There was a feminist economist that did loads of work on this, came to my attention though reading Tim Harford. You have to be thick as fucking pigshit to actually have to go through the process of moving from the capital of Spain to a provincial shit hole in the north of England to realise the quality of blart is going to be different. What a mug.

Precisely and such a shock when you discover this. Having a son is like having a dog who can recite comedy sketches, having a daughter is to enter a bizarre and terrifying world of emotional manipulation and madness I'm not laughing.
