  1. It’s changed twice that I can remember and I don’t remember being bothered either way either time….the biggest thing about our kit I remember was something that basically sort of made me go to my first game; pre season 80/81, we were chatting about kits and I said to the village Newcastle fan (something like..) “aye Neil Bukta are fuckin shite min!” “No we’re Umbro now ya cunt, it’s got a muckle blue star oan it, it’s fuckin ace” “OO ya cunt that sounds mad as fuck! Whits the blue star for??” A few months later Neil and his dad took me to my first game so I could see for myself. There’s no doubt in my mind that the first Umbro kit with the S&N blue star is the greatest kit of the early 80s ie when shirt sponsorship first started in England
  2. Nice to see him back from his loan
  3. Jennifer Rush was no. 1 on my 16th birthday…. I fuckin detest that fuckin song edit: I’ve never flicked to kick in my life. Think I missed out there somehow me and my brother had a lot of Lego and meccano though…
  4. Mate, they’re blatant and obvious manipulative snake oil salesmen. They’re telling enough people precisely what they want to hear though. That’s what Trump knew and did. We’re not immune because we’re British.
  5. I think this is just the norm now tbh. This is just the standard operating procedure for the “uniparty”. They are in hock to global system that is about to be changed forever by Trumpism. A Reform dominated coalition with what’s left of the tories will see the likes of Palantir being presented with all relevant data they require to subjugate our entire population. National Insurance will be abolished but our taxation level will remain the same and we’ll have to find private health cover. This is what Farage and Tice have been trailing since the local government elections last week.
  6. This is where Reagan & Thatcher’s “reforms” have ended up. We’re being hung out to dry by those this pair of cunts sold functioning government out to. Reform are going to have a significant say in our future. That means that process accelerating towards a future unlike those who have gone before us. A good few of us on here are in our 50s. Am willing to bet our retirements won’t be as comfortable as our parents’ are/were. And your kids and grandkids’ standard of living won’t be as high as ours. This is all planned.
  7. I’ve done the survey In conjunction with the FAB they’ve decided to upgrade the current badge and there’s a video explaining what each component part represents ie castle, lion/flag, sea horses, scroll with club name etc… so then they ask which of the components you think would be the most important on any new badge. They’re going to come up with a range of choices after this excercise then they’ll be a vote. Fairly sure any new design won’t be on next season’s strip but happy to be corrected by those who may know better. My preferred design would be something along these lines…
  8. That’s a Modernist classic from where I’m sat
  9. Gemmill’s comments about DCL are fair but if we’re looking at replacing CALLUM “I WAS OUT FOR 3 MONTHS WITH A POORLY TIT” WILSON then I think it’s something we should pass on really
  10. Yeah he’s semi retired and loaded. Spends all winter in various colonial outposts listening to leather on willow. He also does the Caribbean big bash which he’s very fond of 😆
  11. From a mate this morning…
  12. Pape, done Smart money is on Seamus O’Lopez, archbishop of Lima; half Irish, half alpaca 🦙
  13. I’ve told you before not to butt in when the men are talking
  14. It’s a harder chance for Tubby Brewster last night for precisely the same reasons though. So why is his data being included in the xG? I get the large sample size explanation but Tubby Brewster is never going to be in the European cup semi final. Context absolutely counts . His data is irrelevant in the context of last night. So that to me means xG as a reference point is fundamentally flawed.
  15. Well I’ve understood all that since you’ve mansplained it dozens of times because you think I don’t understand it. That the degree of difficulty of the chance is the same in the parc des princes in the last 10 of the European cup semi final as it is at the most basic level of local semi pro football doesn’t make sense. Context isn’t taken into consideration so how can the data be accurate? The human factor has to be allows for, which of course is utterly impossible. Why did Saka miss the open goal? What was the xG of the chance? Why is the xG of the chance the same as it is at West Allotment Celtic? It is indisputably a more difficult chance at the parc des Prince last night…
  16. Xg data for the European cup semi final last night brought to you in conjunction with not only the likes of Saka who missed an open goal in one of the most highly pressurised environments in the sport itself but seemingly 1000s of lads who had a career like this lad… Then we get to the individuals who actually do the data gathering; those stout fellows who judge how difficult any given shot is at any given game throughout football, all issued with a set of criteria that they interpret having gained their relatively brief football knowledge almost exclusively through a computer simulation of the game itself. Am not suggesting I could do better btw, am suggesting most people would be unable to do it accurately and keep up with everything else that’s going on in the game that they may or may not be assessing. Those are my issues with xG, all context at the top level appears to be removed and at its very basic level data collection is very likely to be arbitrary and partial. I understand the football world uses it and good luck to them but it appears it’s most vocal adherents don’t ask any questions about it at all. Has there been any studies on how accurate it actually is?
  17. Am waiting for him to get one or two pockets of support on here for this…
  18. I’ve been thinking that since PSG scored in the first leg
  19. Yeah. Prices had gone up a fair bit too..
  20. I was looking for support on that post!! 🫵🏻 I actually thought the sub continent related slurry fest had abated but obviously I’d underestimated this forum’s appetite for days of punnage, it’s on me I should’ve known better
  21. I went on there a while back and realised that most other clubs/ associations had withdrawn licensing consent. Shame, they did some great stuff along the way
  22. So is this is a chink of light in the darkness?… thing that’s stopped me voting green is nuclear but if someone could just expose the enormous amount fossil fuel lobbyists bung politicians and media to continue net zero lies in the way that the water companies have been exposed am all for it https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/may/07/greens-reform-populists-left-zack-polanski?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
