  1. If we do end up finishing 5th or 6th there'd be some weird sense of relief in Chelsea winning the CL knowing that we wouldn't have got in even if we had finished 4th.
  2. Hold on a second, why did you search for that in the first place!?
  3. Wigan are in the form of their lives and have beaten Man U and Arsenal in recent weeks, albeit not as heavily but our run was bound to end eventually. That result could just as easily have happened to Spurs imo.
  4. 'real' big teams like Man U and Arsenal have both had bigger losses than that this season alone (man u lost 6-1 and Arsenal lost 8-2) whilst Chelsea and Spurs have also had massive tonkings.
  5. And he's a right back anyway isn't he?
  6. My guess is we'll sell one top player, most likely Tiote and replace him with a much cheaper alternative who I predict will be a decent replacement and someone who won't be missing for the ACN. In terms of signings I would say we'll get one centre back and maybe some cover/young players but aside from the already mentioned Tiote replacement, nothing major.
  7. Fop used to use this fucker all the time Whilst monkeysfist has a fondness for this chap
  8. very much no.3 for me. I hate bannings, I hated putting him on ignore a while ago but have since taken him off and now regret it. I honestly can't be fucked with this shit any more. I open toontastic and actually expect to see some thread like this nowadays. The mods are in a difficult position though as Leazes is a a genuine fan with a wealth of knowledge but chooses to only talk about one bizarre subject that most don't even care about whatsoever. I've been on many forums and sadly I don't think I've ever been on one that he wouldn't have been banned on by now. In a way that's what I like about this place though, but there has to be a breaking point surely.
  9. Says he wants a break from football apparently.
  10. Bumped into Keith O'Neill when he was in his prime at Norwich before he got crocked, asked for an autograph, neither of us has a pen, so he laughed and walked off. BEAT THAT STORY!
  11. Aye a while ago Wolves renamed one of the stands (which was previously named after a past owner/chairman) after Steve Bull and to me that makes much more sense.
  12. Aye, N'Zogbia can be good but we don't need the hassle. Bent is good but where would he fit in to the squad? Agbonlahor is fast and occasionally good but would only be a squad player for us. Warnock is absolutely awful, Delph has barely played, Albrighton overrated and I know very little about Bannan but I'd say he's shit too.
  13. Aye, common practice for Stoke too. Incredibly stupid to do it away to Barca though, of all places to try and pull that shit.
  14. pffft watching the villa bolton game myself. That's where the real action's at.
  15. He's an absolute nothing manager, don't know what Learner was thinking with that appointment, at first I thought "he must be cheap" but then you hear they've paid Birmingham a load of compensation and McCleish is in the top 20 best paid managers in Europe or something mad like that. What the fuck?
  16. When we went down I thought we were properly fucked. What really surprised me was the new lease of life the players we already had on our books got afterwards, the likes of Nolan, Raylor, Jonas, Carroll, Shola, and others who mostly looked like absolute dogshit in the relegation season all got their acts together once we went down.
  17. Aye, there's always this "who does he think he is? Coming over here, asking us QUESTIONS!!!!!???!!111???" sort of vibe.
  18. not working here anymore, looks like your survey has taken down the whole forum...
  19. So Ba and Cisse look like they'll be be playing in the Olympics: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17830329 Does this coincide/clash with potential Europa qualifiers?
  20. He's just suggesting that he could potentially play the role Ba has done in recent weeks.
  21. When Lyon were winning the French league year in year out before the recent demise each player on their team had a value and if that value was met they were sold on no matter what. What kept them winning the league was that they reinvested the money wisely and bought replacements who were as good if not better than those who left. In a way I think we're trying to do something similar at the moment. If an offer of over 20 million comes in for Tiote he's gone, (providing the offer is from a team he wants to join of course) so we'll just have to live with that scenario and hope that the replacements we get are good enough. Getting into the CL would only prevent this from happening temporarily (at best) unless we could do it year in year out which these days is extraordinarily difficult. Spurs have been trying (and spending a lot of money along the way) for years and have one solitary Champions league qualification to show for it and if they fail to do so this season will lose at least one of their star players.
  22. In which case we're fucked. Those drubbings off Spurs and Fulham could come back to haunt us.
