  1. Based on the current form of top teams, the run in games, and our defeat at Sheffield, I think we will unfortunately finish second to Brighton but we will be promoted. From their last 5 games Brighton have gained 12 points from a possible 15, whereas we have only gained 7 points from a possible 15 in our last 5 games. On paper Brighton definitely have the easier last 5 games which are against, 10th, 11th, 15th, 21st, placed teams, plus 2nd bottom Wigan. Ours are against 5th, 9th, 13th, 14th, and 17th placed teams. Huddersfield have 6 games left against, 7th, 8th, 9th,14th, 15th, and 18th placed teams, which is probably the hardest. However, if they were to win all six, which is unlikely, but you never can tell, it will give them 92 points. In that scenario we would need 8 points from our last 5 games to stay above them with 93 points. I can't see Brighton falling apart in their last 5 games and dropping too many points, and it's up to Rafa and our squad to see that we rack-up some points and finish with a flourish., rather than with tails between legs.
  2. For them............... Online program beIN Sports Connect is saying it is showing the NUFC v Leeds match on Friday. Don't know about on telly yet over here.
  3. Been dubious about Lacelles for a long time, but today cemented my feelings. He should have easily out-jumped Fletcher to stop him scoring. When you see Nitro winning head balls, chesting the ball then taking a shot from which Shelvey scored the rebound, I have to wonder why Rafa has not been giving him game-time. The last time I saw Nitro on the pitch he was scoring a good goal for Serbia. I would like to see Haidara given a go at left-back in place of Dummett....... maybe even Lazar. And I'd like to see Gamez given a run of games at right-back in place of Anita. Anita might do better in mid-field in place of Diame. I'd like to see us play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, I don't like this lone striker thingy. Are you listening to me Rafa??
  4. I said I had a bad feeling about this game, lo and behold. Plan A.....no worky Plan B.....no worky Plan C.....no worky After the first 5 minutes it looked like Sheffield were destined to win, they played better football, kept procession better, and looked dangerous from the get-go. We are beginning to go downhill when we should be climbing up. We are getting worse when we should be getting better. I was dismayed to see Gouffran in the starting line-up. D is for dreadful and also Diame. S is for super and also Shelvey. I now have badder feelings about the Leeds match.
  5. This is somewhat of a must-win game for both teams. A loss to Sheffield will keep us in second place and allow other teams the opportunity to close the gap between us. A win for Sheffield will keep them in the top six, but if they lose, and Fulham at home beat Ipswich, Fulham will take their place in the top six and bump them out.
  6. To be honest, I've been known to rattle cages and open cans(not beer) I've got bad feelings about Saturday's game.
  7. For them who................ In California the match is going to be shown online via beIN Sports Connect, but it doesn't look like it's going to be shown on the telly.
  8. In regard to all these posts about beer, it clues me into the fact you're all plonkers and subsequently can't understand what I mean in my assessments. Being a teetotaler all my life(never liked the taste of any of it) I've always had sympathy for people whose minds are befuddled with booze and don't know what the fuck I am saying.
  9. Happy to get 3 points. I know you're all on edge waiting for my appraisal but, .......aa'm not saying nowt.
  10. Wots wiv Rafa 'n Nitro? He's not even on the bench.
  11. Haydnator, is that your bird entering your bedroom?
  12. Neebugger seems te knaa why I'm so pessimistic and critical so let me explain............. Aye we're top of the league, aye most likely will get promotion in 1st or 2nd place, but........ We are labouring to win games, we are making hard work of it, we are hardly ever playing good football, there are too many nail-biting games, games we should win easily we don't, we seem to struggle the most against the poorest teams like today for instance. As for Rafa, I have to question his use of players, he brought in players like Gamez, Lazar, Hanly, Yedlin, Atsu, etc etc but few of them have seen any considerable amount of playing time yet he must have thought they were of high value. Lazar is hardly ever even on the bench. He insists on playing Anita, Gouffran, Colback, Dummett, Diame, who most of us seem to think are sub-standard in what we expect from them. I fully expect to get some flak for this, but take your best shots, I'm armoured, indestructible, and too old to be harmed by sticks and stones.
  13. IMO...... Gamez is a better left fullback than Anita. Hayden should have started instead of Colback. Atsu should have started instead of Gouffran. Mbemba is better than mistake making Lascells. Diame is like a yo-yo.
  14. 3 points, but apparently another uninspiring performance if you go by the commentators. Said I wouldn't be surprised if Anita, Gouffran, and Colback were in the starting lineup, and so they were. I should have added Diame as well. Say what you will, but my confidence in Benitez is waning when he, in my opinion, does not put the best team out there.
  15. Who will step on the banana-skin Saturday. Huddersfield v Burton (4th bottom) Brighton v Blackburn (3rd bottom) Newcastle v Wigan (2nd bottom)
  16. Would be no surprise to see Colback, Gouffran, and Anita in a starting line-up.
  17. Mr. Fish will no doubt have a whale of a time on Wigan Pier should we win.
  18. Well I didn't expect a bollocking from you Mr. Fish, could you scale it down a bit please.
  19. I'm inclined to worry a bit when we play bottom of the league teams, we have a track record of slip-ups against them in the past. They are fighting for their lives and will not lie down and allow us to walk all over them. And being at home is not a given the way it used to be, and they have a decent away record this season.
  20. Just read that Seamus Coleman suffered the fracture of both the Tibia & Fibia and I can really feel for him as I have been down that road. I had only been in Southern California for 7 months and was playing for the Long Beach Soccer Club against the San Pedro Jugoslavs'. One of their players was about to take a shot on goal and I slid in and nudged the ball away. Unfortunately my leg was where the ball had been and he couldn't prevent his kick and just about kicked my leg off. Not his fault but I ended up with a broken tibia & fibia, had surgery and had a steel pin inserted down the middle of the large bone. Was in a full leg cast for 9 months.
  21. Georgia v Serbia. Nitro scores a good goal.
  22. Since a child I have always said Haway, an' I find it easier to say than Howay anyway.
  23. Hey, Brolly-boy is available if Rafa does a bunk.
  24. Of course the deviousness of Ashley may come into play if................... Thauvin is playing well and scoring, and has been selected for the France squad. DeJong is playing well and scoring, played 90 minutes in his last game. Could these two be back playing for us next season and be considered as new signings by the devious Ashley.
