I think that 'IF' we get promoted there is a good possibility he will stay. However, obviously we can't enter the Premier League campaign with the squad we have at the moment, so his staying will probably hinge on money made available to strengthen the squad in the summer break, the players he wants brought in, and he maintains full authority. If this doesn't happen I imagine he will leave despite gaining promotion.

I don't think there are many who understand why I piss and moan so much all the time and it's quite simple really. I want and expect to see us playing good flowing, attacking football and it's not happening. Rafa is not producing what I want to see and I'm wondering why not. The squad we have on the books are quite capable of playing decent football, I know because I have seen flashes of it produced by them, but the flashes are few and far between. Despite how many games we have played and won this season, in how many can you say we played good football. Even when we won it was hardly ever by good football. When we beat Brighton and Huddersfield, they were the ones who played good football, not us. I want to enjoy watching and listening to our games, not cringing at what I see or hear, and for that matter read.

Wake-up all you rose tinted specs wearers, we would have got 3 points today if super hero Benitez had exercised a better starting line-up FFS. With his preferred starting line-up, and Gayle, Shelvey, Gamez, Atsu, Mbemba, Mitrovic & Elliot, all sitting on the bench, you have to wonder what his plan was. And why does he keep persisting in playing one up front? He seems quite suited to changing players willy-nilly, but not formations. I put the blame entirely on Rafa for us dropping 2 points today. I'm seriously beginning to have doubts about Rafa. Gamez is a natural left full-back, Anita is not. Diame had a stinker last week and is starting. Mbemba had one bad game and he's in the dog house. Atsu dropped? Gayle on the bench?

Not happy with that fucking line-up. A team with Anita, Gouffran, Perez, Colback & Diame starting does not give me a thrill, it gives me a chill.

Seeing games at St. James' Park and odd ones elsewhere have been few and far between for me, most of my watching has been on screen. However, although I lean towards Shearer I have voted for Quasimodo as I thought he was more exciting to watch and had that aggression you see in a little man playing against the big lads. Was introduced to him once in Los Angeles when England were playing Mexico at the LA Coliseum in a warm-up game before the World Cup being held in Mexico.

From the reports I read, no one had a good game. Apparently Diame was absolutely wank for 90 minutes.. (why didn't Rafa get him off and Perez on) Anita was dismal and ran ragged by a 16 year old......... (Rafa should have started Gamez) Lascells was woeful......................................................... (Hanly was on the bench) Shelvey contributed little, less than Colback. Ritchie, Atsu, & Dummet were mediocre. Gayle was lightweight and starved of service. Clark was decent til he went off. Pretty well sums up what I was hearing on the match commentary.

Benitez fucked up when he didn't make changes at half-time, we'd already allowed them 70% possession in the first and were behind. Painful to listen to, promotion hopes disappearing, goal difference disappearing, unbeaten run disappeared. I just knew this would happen, but not 3 - 1 that could have been 4 - 1 after giving away a penalty. Benitez does not seem to be able to get us to play good football, or have us keeping a fair share of possession. I'm ready for the flak, take your best shots!!

Seems to me I said it would be a slippery slope against Fulham and we're already on our arse, Let's see what the plan is for the second half.

WTF........Gamez puts in a decent shift against Reading then is immediately dropped and Anita springs eternal. What does Rafa see in Anita that I can't?

I think we are on a slippery slope for the Fulham game and I hope Rafa's plan includes the issue of pitons and hob-nailed boots so we get a good grip and don't fall on our arse.

The infamous Brolly Boy is not doing us any favours at Brighton but that's to be expected.

I think what bothers me most is that we don't play good football often enough, even when if we win. Of course I'm happy when we win but am still bothered if it wasn't by a good football display. If we play a good game and lose, I'm irked but not really bothered. A lot of my bother comes from games we should have won but didn't, especially against bottom teams. Huddersfield had 78% of possession, Reading had 70% of possession, and that bothers me even if we win or draw.

I bother because I'm a long-time Newcastle supporter who's seen highs and lows for a long long time. Relegated from the 1st. Division more than once, nearly relegated to the 3rd. Division once, relegated from the Premier league twice. But then, 3 FA Cups, Fairs Cup, Texaco Cup, quite a few promotions, but never won the top league which I'd like to see before I reach my expiration date(which must be close)

I would appreciate it very much if the gentlemen/wankers who exalted Rafa's game plan against Huddersfield would clue me in to what his plan was today against Reading, thank-you! I'm certainly very glad we didn't lose but it seemed like we very nearly did, and according to the commentators we did not play well and Reading had the most procession.

Been wondering when Gamez was going to be used. Surprised at Atsu not starting ahead of Gouffran. Surprised Perez starting ahead of Diame.

I believe that Nitro has the potential to be an excellent striker but I don't think that potential will be realized unless he is given a goodly run of games as a starter. This in and out, out and in, not on the bench etc etc will be demeaning and not allow him to flourish. He is decent in the air, he holds the ball up well, he has decent ball control, he has the makings of a decent striker.

I doubt Rafa's plan was to allow Huddersfield to pitch their tents in our half of the field and camp there for the duration.
