Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Noelie replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I too am still unconvinced about Pardew's abilities. He came to us without any great records in the Premier league, in fact most of his managerial experience was in the lower leagues. I still feel sorry for Hughton and think he got the shaft when he should have been given a chance. Like many, I believe him to be an Ashley & Lambias puppet whom I doubt would rock the boat if it meant jeapordizing his position. He is a typical PR man, says what people like to hear, is glib, and has indicated he is quite capable of telling terminological inexactitudes. I still have to question his game plans, starting line-ups, and late substitutions. Can't get my head around why he didn't start Santon against Liverpool, and what seems to be his problem with not giving BenArfa more playing time. More than that is his persistance with Obertan when it is obvious he is contributing little to the game. Having said all that, I hope he can dispell all my doubts and do a good job at getting us to be a better than mediocre team, which is what we are at the moment despite being in 7th place.- 10610 replies

I'm glad people finally realizes what pards really is Who would you have instead of Pardew? If yer asking me Tom, perhaps Lee Clark. He's doing well with Huddersfield, and he might do well in the premier league with premier league players. Plus he's a Geordie. -

I can only surmise Pardoo is sleeping with Obertan. Perhaps BenArfa refuses to sleep with Pardoo. Either way one is getting too much playing time and the other not enough. And again I question Pardoo, but this time his tactics. What's with all this lateral and back passing and little forward motion. Doesn't he understand the importance of getting the ball into the box as much as you can. Obertan was SHITE, he must have a vision problem cos most of his passing attempts went to a man in a red shirt. Santon should have started, not Raylor who is a handicap at times. Vuckic off, BenArfa on. Gimme a break Pardoo, Obertan should have been the one to leave. Wilson, ok-ok Simpson, ask for a transfer and never get in the way of the keeper. We are a mediocre team with a mediocre manager whose game plans are SHITE. HAPPY NEW YEAR. -
1995-96 season, away to Liverpool. The Scousers played keep-away for almost 80 minutes, almost 90% possesion, their passing was supurb, looked like we didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. Geordie boy Stevie Watson found himself up front with the ball, isolated, nee bugger to pass to so he hoofed it towards goal. IT WENT IN!! .......... Liverpool 0 - 1 Newcastle.

January Transfer window 2012- Deadline Day Madness
Noelie replied to Lake Bells tits's topic in Newcastle Forum
Cheer up me hearties, Shola, Sammy, Leon, Lovenkrands, that's a formidable strike force if you look at it through rose coloured specs. I understand Sports Direct are marketing these specs at a cut-price rate in the January sales so everything should be rosey. -
Each match I have to question Pardoo and his decisions and this time it is Perch on for Cabaye when he has Vuckic who shone last week. And, couldn't he see Williamson was knackered near the end and should have been taken off. Obertan and Best starting and BenArfa getting 30 minutes in the second half, gimme a break.

Newcastle v West Brom Wed 21st Kick Off 7.45pm
Noelie replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Again I have to question Pardoo. (1) Why didn't he start Williamson instead of Perch? (2) Why did he wait so long before he brought on BenArfa? (3) Why did he leave Oberton on so long? (4) Why did he leave Best on so long? (5) Couldn't he see Best & Oberton weren't contributing much to the game. (6) Why did he take Santon off? Did I miss something. Surprised to see Vucic start, even more surprised at how well he did. Tiote was pretty awful. Ba is beginning to look more & more like a No. 9. -
. That's 2 games in a row he has sat on the bench for the duration. It has to be something other than injury or fitness.

I've seen some disappointing games and results in my time and this one has to be high on my list. I really have to question Pardoo now. (1) Why didn't he play BenArfa at some point in the game? (2) Why did he leave Best on the pitch so long? (3) Why did he leave Obertan on the pitch so long? (4) Why does he wait so long before he makes changes? (5) What does he see in Perch that I don't? With Colo and Tiote back this was one of the most winnable games we didn't win. Not happy with one point, it should have been three. In the last 20 minutes it wouldn't have surprised me if they had nicked it.

That's true, and that's because I only look into the Newcastle forum. Today I remembered and looked into where I should have looked last year. Anyhoo, thanks very much for the birthday wishes. I don't feel like I'm 79, more like 109.

Am I SO stupid I don't understand why BenArfa didn't set foot on the pitch when we were in dire straits at 2-1 down 3-2 down. Obertan is a wimp. As weak as our defense was the game was there to be won if Pardoo had shown some sense. I don't think it made any sense to switch Raylor to the right side when he had formed some sort of pairing with Jonas. Santon had a promising first game. When you are behind, Stroller is not the energetic firebrand going for broke. Well done Gosling, you were just ducky.

Colo may not be available. Pardoo WILL start Perch, maybe Kadar. I think he should start Santon at left-back.

Newcastle v Chelsea Sat 3rd Dec, 12.45pm - Sold out!
Noelie replied to ChezGiven's topic in Newcastle Forum
That's a very good question. A few days ago I watched a repeat of a match between Spurs and Santon's wop-ahoe team(euro-indian) and Santon came on as a substitute in the 50th minute. He came on at LEFT-BACK and looked OK for 40 minutes, got forward and even had a shot on goal. -

The sadder part of our loss to Chelsea(not counting injuries) is the 3 goals against. Arsen'all are above us on goal difference only and if Liverpool beat Fulham(and they probably will) they too will be above us on goal difference. -

I'm Puzzled. Perch came to us as a full-back. Santon came to us as a full-back. Why does Pardoo seem to prefer Perch and not give Santon any playing time? Is Perch looking better in practice? With Lovenkrands replacing Jonas the right side was wide open all game long. Couldn't Pardoo see that and try to adjust in some way? Why didn't Pardoo start Santon at left-back and have Raylor or Gosling in front of him? -

Heart really sank when Perch entered the fray. A severe blow that Colo had to go off. Obertan is too easily dispossesd and bundled off the ball, his balls in aren't good enough. Simpson's balls in are on a par with Obertan's. And he still does too much backing-up and allowing them into the box. Raylor, enough said about his frailties as a left full-back. When will Pardoo wake up? Saylor put in another good shift. Guthrie had a decent game and will try to shoot from distance. Cabye did alright but he needs to shoot from distance more often. BenArfa was disappointing when I thought he would shine. Ba did better and had some bad luck with his attempts on goal. Lovenkrands didn't do too badly. Shola & Sammy did about what I expected. Krul proved again he is our No.1 keeper. Disappointed we didn't get something from the match, we had enough chances but we didn't score and they did. No good crying about Luis not being sent off. -
Not quite true Park Life, Carroll may be a loser in regard to playing time, but he would get a nifty chunk of the transfer fee plus higher wages so you would have to say he was a winner in some respects.
-
I think it's interesting to note that Santon was on the Italian under 21 squad for their last two games but was an unused substitute in both of them. I wonder why. Interesting to note that Pardoo brought on full-back Perch rather than Santon against Man.City. I wonder why. IMO Raylor was crap against Man.City and it's not the first crap game he's had. If you spend 5 million for a full-back you should be playing him to see if you got value for your money even if it's in the reserves.
-
I suppose there is some small consolation in the fact that despite their total domination and control of the game they were unable to capitalize on their possession. 2 penalties and a fuck-up by Raylor sadly burst our unbeaten bubble of success. BenArfa showed all the signs of being a class player.
-
Are you sure you didn't mean Wilson?
-
Never mind Perch, I wanna know how Santon performed? Did he look like a good 'un?
-
Another we could have won game, but I'm happy with the result as I honestly thought we might lose this one. It was good to see Santan given a short run out but I was surprised to see him replace Simpson on the right. At that point it surprised me even more that Pardoo did not take Oberton off and put Marceau in. I think that with Ba playing a lone front man with BenArfa behind him might prove to be a better strike force than Best & Ba.
