Of coarse he will, they let all those terrorists in, even me.

What concerns me a little is that if we lose to Blackpool this weekend there are potentially 5 teams who could leapfrog us if they all win, and that would drop us way down the table. Bit of a stretch I know, but it could happen based on some of the mind-blowing results we have seen happen this season, and I don't mean our results.

Brilliant result FFS

Since the surprise sudden firing of Hughton and the even more surprising quick hiring of Pardew I have always thought he was nothing more than an Ashley & Lambias puppet. He talks eloquently enough in his media interviews but there is little substance in what he says. Obviously I would like him to be a big success in the manager's job at St. James and take us forward and upward but I'm not confident he has the skills to do it. In my opinion, in some of his starting line-ups, substitutions, and January window signings, he has not shown me he is any better than Hughton was. I was never 100% sure about Hughton but I can't help but think that if Hughton were still in charge we might have been a little higher in the league than we are right now. Show me I'm wrong Pardew, show me you're the man.

Hugely disappointed with the loss but it was what I was fully expecting to happen. What I wasn't expecting was for us to be so toothless up front, clueless in the middle, and dodgey at the back. We've all clamoured for Ranger to get a starting position, well I won't anymore. Barton is too mouthy to be Captain. There was no question he committed the foul which resulted in their goal. Friedel could have had a snooze for at least 85 minutes, we didn't disturb him much. Too many wayward passes, lost too many 50/50 balls, gave away possesion too easily, in fact we were shite. Never looked like we could win.

I have a Whickam mate who lives in Costa Mesa a few miles from me and he has the same problem as me on his home computer but says he doesn't have the problem on his computer at his workplace in Irvine a few miles further south.

I rely on my computer & Foxsoccer.tv to watch NUFC games as more often than not they are not on TV. Always have to keep in mind that times posted are East Coast time. Problem I have with Foxsoccer.tv is that it doesn't run fluidly, it stutters but it is a good picture and watchable. Can't seem to fix the stuttering even after going to a higher speed and increasing memory.

Aye pretty much, but ESPN2 does show some EPL games.

Good results for us today, the 3 teams who could have leapfrogged us with wins, all lost, Fulham, Stoke, & Blunderland. West Brom's win has put them level on points but their goal difference keeps them below us. A win or a draw for us tomorrow against Villa would certainly do us some good but we have a habit of shooting ourselves in the foot when other results go our way.

Newcastle United 4-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Noelie replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
I've often wondered why he hasn't been given some goes down the right side, he might just do alright there. Granted he has a good working partnership with Enrique down the left side but his final distribution of the ball has always been lacking in consistancy and quality. Milner and others have shown the ability to play down both sides, why not Jonas. -
That being true Tom, I wonder why he chose to play for the Ivory Coast when he more than likely could have played for France like a number of not born French 'stars' do. Maybe feelings of allegiance & loyalty are stronger in some people more than others.

Drogba is not French nor from France.

Quotes from Pardew in the Chronicle about the Stoke match: When we conceeded those two goals, that's when the game was lost. We looked like a team confident in what we were doing. We were defending set plays very well. We done a lot of things really well. It was hugely disappointing in terms of the scoreline. Spoken like a man with his head up someone's arse.
-
What irks me is that he is credited with signing Ben Arfa when in actual fact he was already on board as a loanee with options to buy. Must give Pardew credit though, for signing injured loanee Ireland in January who hasn't shown his face yet and it's March.

Had a bad feeling we would lose today ..... but not by that much. Is Pardew any better than Hughton ........ I don't think so after today. Ameobi goes from mediocre to useless. Tiote was below par .... created some nailbiting situations. FFS

So very true, it's never easy to be the onlooker when someone is suffering and there is little or nothing you can do.

I don't think they did use it effectively, especially when they're unlikely to have a big warchest to strengthen their defence and midfield. They could have done much much more with £50million. The only thing that is commendable is that they didn't let Torres go without having a replacement, but in terms of using the money effectively I don't think they have. I'd say bringing in Suarez and Carroll is using it effectively. They'll give them a big edge compared to in the past few seasons when they've been massively over-reliant on Torres. Not too sure about that when recognizing that they beat Chelsea without Suarez & Carroll, (or Torres) and were up 3 - 0 against Man Ure at half-time without Suarez & Carroll, (or Torres). So maybe they they didn't need to spend all the money they did on Suarez & Carroll. Maybe one or the other would have been effective spending, but not both. Bit daft judging the transfers on one game, especially one they didn't play in against a Chelsea side who haven't been at their best most of the season (Sunderland beat them 3-0 down there). Because if that's not what you're doing, I'm not sure what point you're making. The point I'm making is that if they can do that well initially without Suarez & Carroll on the pitch then maybe they un-necessarily overspent. Oh, and I wasn't judging the transfers on one game, I mentioned 2 games upto a point where the new transfers didn't take part. Carroll came on against Man Ure but they were already three-up without him.

Gosling I don't understand, got him already in the sick-bay, nursed him back into training, played in a reserve outing with no apparent problems, then played a few minutes with the first team, and his knee swells up. Where is he and what is his status. Will we see him again this season.

Too long ago, can't remember, but maybe Hughie Gallagher was playing.

TBH Noelie, Guthrie has looked just as shite as Wilson as a right midfield. True, but Guthrie is a mid-field player whereby Simpson isn't and I tend to lean to the devil I know than the one I don't. Guthrie does tend to drift into the middle when he plays wide right, but he has played there and Simpson hasn't.
-
On looking back I have to question Pardew's decisions again. (1) Why did he start Wilson(Simpson) out of position and not start Guthrie who was on the bench. (2) Why did he start Saylor out of position at right back instead of Simpson. (3) Why did he bring Ameobe on to replace Enrique and not Ferguson. (4) Why did he put Simpson out of position again by moving him to left-back. (5) Why didn't he put Kugi on a bit earlier to try and do something. Ranger & Campbell not on the bench. Are they injured?
-
I had bad feelings about this match. Past history has shown that whenever we are in a good position to do ourselves some good we fuck it up as only we can.
-
Why wouldn't or couldn't it work with 3 at the back. I was weaned on 2 full-backs, 3 half-backs, and 5 forwards and it worked for years & years Any formation can & will work with the right calibre of player's in the right positions.

How often do you tug yourself Noelie? Just trying to get an idea for when I hit your age. Is 'tug' a new way of saying wank? If it is then I'm not sure, never good at arithmetic, always had to count on me hands.
