Carr, Troisi and Geordie Boy Peter Ramage to leave
Noelie replied to Snake's topic in Newcastle Forum
Adios Carr, you never ever played as well for us as you did for Spurs. Tiraa Damage, ye ownly played as much cos we had injuries. Good luck wheorivver ye gan son. Troisi, never saw you, don't know what you're like, but wish you well on your travels. -
Perhaps that's true but it's not what I want to hear even if deep inside I know how it is. Just smacks of negativity to me. What's the point in entering a competition if you don't think you have any chance of winning? Aye, and negative statements often open exit doors. I would rather be told the glass is half full rather than be told it's half empty.

For a while I thought a different team had been sent out for the 2nd half, and after a while I wished it had been because Chelsea didn't suddenly become good, we suddenly became bad, very bad.
-
Good thinking, we were pretty crap, especially in the first half. For a moment I thought Sam Allaryce must be back!! The midtield were more or less anonymous in the 1st half and Geremi was abysmal, they did nothing to soften the blows coming from the Hammers. The back four without Faye had that sieve-like appearance, Beye had a poor performence compared to his usual stalwatr defending and Enrique seemed to be nowhere most of the time. In the front-line Martins seemed to be the only one causing concern for their defense. Viduka should have been taken off earlier than he was. However it was a good result, any point is a good point when you play as bad as we did.

Some truth in that for sure. As I understand it my name was mentioned on N-O a couple of times in the past and unless you were a member or visitor to Toontastic you wouldn't know who the fuck I was as I don't belong to any other forum. And I haven't a clue as to who posts on N-O, or posts on N-O and Toontastic. up yer game then What game? Wasn't it you who mentioned my name on that other forum?

Brilliant result but......... Wouldn't answer the phone, wouldn't log on me 'puter, stayed away from the telly & radio, and waited until 2:00PM to watch the match on Setanta Sport USA without knowing the score. After seeing the dismal 2nd half performence I wish I had just got the score and been deleriously happy all day instead of been happy with the result but unhappy with seeing the way they played in the 2nd half. Too many errant passes, too many short passes into congested space, too many long balls to nobody, too much losing the ball, AND......letting Blunderland have TOO MUCH of the ball and worrying me. But a brilliant result and high regard for Keegan saying we never got started.

Obviously it's on Sky but .com do a round up of overseas channels too normally. Aye I've had a look but didn't see anything that looked like an American channel, I know they sometimes show games on delay over there which would be a better option for me. A US Toon Fan Club website mebbies? Good shout, it's on Setanta Xtra, now to find a pub showing it a 5.30am. West Coast Pacific Time. It is indeed 'live' on Setanta Xtra at 5:30AM but I believe the Setanta Xtra channel is only available if you have Direct TV. I have Setanta USA with Dish Network but the Setanta Xtra channel is not provided on Dish Network. However, a repeat of the match is being shown on Setanta USA at 2:00PM.

Didn't he just keep them up one season, then resigned via either The Sun or The Mirror, before telling the club, when they were on their way down the following season? That's how I remember it anyway. Legend! As I recall he was hired after they had already been relegated to the 2nd. division. I suppose they thought he was the man to get them back into the 1st. Shortly after he laft they slid down into the 3rd. division. Not sure how long he was there but his tenure was a disaster, much to our joy.
-
Had success at some clubs but that Gateshead lad Lawrie Mackem-enemy managed Sunderland into the 3rd. division for the first time in their history. Well done Lawrie, smashing job.

You must be getting on a bit in years like me if you've seen Puskas play. And if you are and if you have then you must have seen di Stefano who I consider the best olayer I have ever seen.

Robert left Derby Co. to go to Toronto FC. Played his first game for Toronto on Sunday against the LA Galaxy. Galaxy 2 - 3 Toronto. Beckham doesn't seem to be raising the Galaxy to new heights. Played 3, won 1, lost 2. Toronto's first win. Maybe Robert will raise them to the 'galaxy'.

Ye mean you have an album on fucking? I'd like to have one, not that I need any pointers.

Let's face it, on occasion Zoggy has shown some excellent performences but lacks consistancy. He has on occasion shown lots of potential but again lacks cosistancy. I can't help but think that Allardyce may have stunted his growth somewhat by playing him out of position so many times at left-bacl when Enrique was there to be used. It's fairly obvious that Zoggy has some baggage he carries like his attitude and personna which for him appears to be a consistant minus point. The fact that we have Duff & Milner who can play on the left flank, and the fact that wor Kevin seems to be favouring the 4-4-3 system, plus the fact we can expect new players coming in, then perhaps Zoggy should be allowed to leave if that's what he and his agent want. As he has 3 years left on his contract there will be no problem getting a transfer fee for him which will off-set some of the money we are hoping Ashly is prepared to spend in the transfer market.

Alrredo di Stefano. I know, I know, he was born in Argentina but his parents were Italians and he achieved greatness in Europe while playing for Real Madrid and Spain. Never seen anyone better.

It's been a while since I've seen so many errant passes and so many long balls to neebody. A fair result but I feel it was there to be won, thanks to FeFoe for being off-target. If Taylor's scissor-kick had gone it it might have been the goal of the century. So many corners with no results, can't someone other than Geremi take them? Enrique did some good stuff and some woeful stuff. Beye did very well but was nowhere near as good as he has been lately.

In the first leg I thought Arsenal were the better footballing team throughout but they seem to have lost the final finish when they get into the box. In the second Arsenal started brightly enough but then faded and Liverpool took over and looked the better team and as always it's goals that count and the Scousers scored the most.

I seem to recall that Alf Ramsey used a 4-3-3 formation when England won the World Cup back in 1966. Known as the 'wingless wonders' so they were.

Commentator on FSC said he had a stomach bug, whatever that means. What's with N'Zogbia? no sign of him last week and not on the bench this week, and can't find any reports saying he's injured.

Not really bonny lad, the tools of a manager are kept in the storage-room of his mind, and obviously Sam had either lost some or never had a full set to begin with. What he had in front of him was all the bits and pieces of an disassembled machine that needed to be put together in working order. Sam had all the pieces but not the tools.

Bit of a shakey start in the first few minutes which started to worry me and had me thinking 'OH NO' but then we settled down and Martins goal gave me back that good feeling. Didn't see Barton as been m.o.m, he had a good game but for me it was Beye. Lovely chip in for Owen's goal, I expected him to have a shot like he did last week.

Not according to his birth certificate, and if he was sold to Fulham, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Charlton,or any of those other clubs in the Smoke he'd soon be singing 'Maybe its becos I'm a Londoner'

Saw the whole game albeit on a delayed basis and not live so had to stay away from phones, pc's, and the telly so I wouldn't know the score. Honestly didn't expect us to win in London, would have been estatic with a draw, but a win brought maniaclal joy. Some nail-biting moments in the first half when they were coming forward, heart sank when the Bent one scored, couldn't believe it when Butt got one back. Second half looked like we were half-way back to being the Entertainers again. Can't say that anyone had a bad game, Viduka & Barton are looking better all the time. Geremi was a little better than usual. Overall the best performence I've seen this season which leads me to believe that getting rid of Allardyce at that time was the right thing to do as this was the team available to him and he couldn't get them to perform anywhere close to what they showed today.

Watching the match on TV you didn't have to be a lip-readerto know that he mouthed 'fuck-off' to the referee when he got the first yellow card. The camera zoomed in on him and if looks could kill the Ref would've been dead. Based on that it was pretty obvious he said a lot more than that which brought the second yellow and red and he appeared to just go on and on ranting at the referee. As with most ugly looking gits, he looked even uglier when he was mad.

FFS, WE WON Played well but mind you I was biting my nails until we got the second goal as we have a habit of leaking at the back. Felt the same way as I did last week, Zoggy should have come on for Geremi. Martins looked better than he did last week. Spirits a little dampened cos Blunderland won, real happiness only comes when Newcassel win and the Mackems lose.
