  1. He's Italian - diving is genetic.
  2. There's nothing wrong with a commitment to fiscal responsibility but it's the absence of any willingness to consider ideas to look at revenue increases apart from some nebulous idea of growth that bothers me. Too much caution and fear of the press - a press incidentally we found out today they did a nice little deal with to garner support at the cost of justice. I wonder how many other deals they've made on things like CGT and tax avoidance.
  3. I just don't trust Americans to not be that stupid. Also the dems have had these supposedly clever people for decades and they've been completely fucked by the republicans.
  4. Clinton was supposedly a great lawyer but she didn't exactly tear him a new arse in the debates.
  5. That was the phrase the jounalist's government source used.
  6. If they're going to suspend MPs for not voting with the government then why do we even bother with a Parliament?
  7. I got a leaflet through my letterbox today from the water company saying they've fitted a smart water meter and I've gone to have a shower before bed and I've got no water. Twats. Checked with my next dorr neighbour and they're fine so I reckon they just haven't turned it back on at the stand pipe access hole thingy. I'll have to phone them first thing though my neighbour's son is a plumber so he's said he can ask him to do it as they have the tool.
  8. Source for comment about getting one over on the left.
  9. It's not about children in poverty or budgets it's about getting another one up on the left. More tories who voted for them in 2019 died (8%) than switched to Labour (6%) this time but those 6% still count for more than anyone left wing. Or kids onviously.

    Eddie Howe

The FA were supposedly quoted as saying they had a succession plan in mind - that suggests Carsley (or maybe Potter) to me. Hopefully anyway.
  11. A couple of further mentions of this Thiaw from Milan.
  12. Probably not but funnily enough I did read somewhere that Reagan held them back on a few occasions.
  13. With US arms and tacit approval. It's like Tywin Lannister and Gregor Clegane.
  14. Supplied the bombs and made sure the UN and ICC responses were denigrated and minimised. They may not have wanted in but have done the square root of fuck all to minimise or end it. Putin bombs a school andl he's a despicable war criminal who should see justice. Netanyahu does it and "it's complicated". Give me sixth form any day.
  15. Has "don't speak ill of the dead" now become "don't speak ill of the retiring"? Biden may have done a good job domestically but he is a genocide enabler.
  16. I know what a 70s Bush was but what were 70s Clintons or Bidens?
  17. That was my take. It would be unfortunate if the England job provides an easy way out.
  18. I don't mind him expressing anger at the Anderson sale but he seemed to be blaming the club rather than the rules.

    Yes Gemmill...

It was his second big show set in a hotel - Newhart - itv used to show it late at night. In the final episode he woke up next to his wife from the first show implying it was all a dream - brilliantly copied in that Brian Cranston Breaking Bad/Malcolm in the middle spoof short.
  20. See also: Martin "I followed Sunlun as a boy" O'Neill. Steve "I'm coming home" Bruce. Dick "Lovely flowers you sent the wife lads" Avocaat. Paulo "FTM" Di Canio. Etc. Etc.
  21. One of them challenges the rest of them as to what they would mention as "attractions" to encourage visits and one seriodly mentions a "sports ground filled with 40k people 23 times a year as well as concerts". Fuck me.
  22. He still shook hands with Netanyahu. Fuck context.
  23. He's spot on on this. If Lammy had met Putin or the leader of Hamas there'd be hell on. Netanyahu is no different. Except Britain doesn't arm Putin or Hamas.
  24. I remember a teacher of mine who I otherwise respected saying that he'd stopped praying for Sunderland to score because he'd realised there could be a fan of the other team praying for their team as well - not because the whole concept was batshit crazy.
