2 league goals in 13 games since he came back from his knee injury.

Sad to see how much Owen has been affected.

he's always been like that though. lean spells followed by periods when he can't stop scoring. wouldn't suprise if he goes on a run soon.

he's definitely lost his pace though

World class man and don't forget it.

Sorry 2J, I forgot about that.

 The dynamic duo of the WUM world.

"Holy bad wind-up attempt, Baggio!"

What bothered me today (amongst other things) was that Allardyce picked a team of battlers (line-up and formation-wise I thought) yet Sunderland not only played the better football, they outfought us too. The only time we were on top was 10 mins upto and about 5 mins after we scored and rather than seizing the initiative when the Mackems were there for the taking, he took far too long to give Martins a run-out.

I was reminded at times of a couple of the games against the Monkey's Heed's teams when we were outfought.

He would score a lot more if he got the service but having a bunch of cloggers instaed of creative midfielders isnt helping our cause

Was discussing that yesterday. I dont doubt Owens ability. I doubt our ability to create for him with our current style of play. If Sam doesnt know his besrt players or how he wants them to play, what chance have the players got?

The chance when Owen took it on his left foot summed up for me how much of his pace and sharpness he has actually lost.

True. Hes a poacher now. Hes not fast, not strong, not great in the air. Hes a decent finisher and unless chances are laid on a plate hes going to get 1 or 2 chances a match at most. Hes been MIA for the last 2 games. Martins may have his faults but he creates his own chances, runs at people, shoots on sight. Hes a much better option at the minute.
