What rumours?

Everyone's favourite local Sunday paper said such a rumour is "wide of the mark".

But feel free to believe papers with even less credibility than the above.

Would you like to point out where I said I believed any rumours?

Also, I don't rate one paper over another in actually getting transfer gossip right.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is ready to join the battle for Real Madrid's Sergio Canales.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder was bought by Real from Racing Santander ahead of Manchester United, City and Arsenal but has failed to make an impact at the Bernabeu and is available for a season on loan.

Pardew has already completed deals for Sylvain Marveaux, Mehdi Abeid, Yohan Cabaye and former West Ham striker Djemba Ba, and is now keen on adding Canales to his ranks.

However the former Irons boss will have to fend off interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Everton along with newly-promoted QPR.

Tranmere Rovers teenager Dale Jennings looks set to move to Bayern Munich after the German giants' offer was accepted.

The 18-year-old striker, who only made his debut for Rovers at the start of last season, has been granted permission to discuss personal terms with Bayern.

The Bundesliga club initially made a bid last month and Rovers boss Les Parry admits he could not prevent Jennings from discussing a move to the Allianz Arena.

"Bayern have made us a very good offer for Dale and we don't want to stand in his way of making this incredible move," said Parry.

"When a club with the size and history of Bayern come in for you it's the opportunity of a lifetime and I wish Dale all the best should the transfer happen.

"It also says a lot about the club's youth system that one of the giants of European football is interested in signing one of our players."

Jennings made 32 appearances for Rovers last season, scoring six goals, and is now set to sign for Jupp Heynckes' side.

Is he any good? :( Always find it strange that we poach young players from the likes of Spain, Germany, Italy but they never do it in return.

Ive only seen a couple of YouTube compilations on him. Dribbling style is similar to Giggs'-can go in or outside of his marker.

Clichy just confirmed moving over to city with us firm runners for bridges signature- :(

Arsenal a selling club? They have a 60,000 seater stadium-that's 15,000 more than City. It doesn't make sense (etc etc ad infinitum)

doubt it crouch would be high in wages no way could we afford him

Plus we would have the expense of moving up his changing room peg. And that's as a minimum. He might also need his own 'high and mighty' sized shower and we'd have to have a look at the height of the home changing room doors too.

Eh, Deadman?
