Noboby is saying Ashley is a good owner, nobody is predicting champions league but what we do have is a good side that's been built on a budget and people like Leazes would rather moan like fuck than admit we have a decent team that has been assembled by good scouting and prudent transfer dealings. see the bigger picture. See top players sold and the cash pocketed, and signings like Lovenkrands, Perch, Routledge, Obertan, Simpson......if you are happy with a "decent" team, that says everything about you and your awareness of NUFC, sadly. Give me one good reason why Carroll, Barton and Nolan should not still be at the club in addition to the signings of Ba and Cabaye ? Because Liverpool paid £35mil for Carroll, still makes me chuckle. Nolan and Barton wanted to hold the club to ransom for long,big money deals, which was never going to happen plus they could well have had a negative impact on the current bunch as they didn't get what they wanted Were they good enough reasons? Now, show me the evidence that Ashley has pocketed the cash and not used it to pay club expenditure so we are a selling club ? Give me one good reason why Carroll, Barton and Nolan should not still be at the club in addition to the signings of Ba and Cabaye ? Is that a selling club?? yes. Because, if you estimate we are 2 players from being a very good team, we sold 2 good players to Liverpool for starters. That makes us a selling club. We also let a good player go to QPR for nothing, and numerous others over the past few years - I just KNOW that you won't understand this "sell, replace and pocket the cash" policy as opposed to a "build and improve". You are even more mad if you think Mike Ashley is ever going to keep this core of players together and add the 2 more you say is needed to jump from "decent" to "very good", and THAT is precisely the point I am trying to explain to you. You have a serious problem, moaning on for something that you moaned about in equal measure when you had it. The saddest thing of all being that you think I give a toss what a few bairns or out-of towners think ? And also you seriously think they are "baiting" when they are deadly serious. Like you, when you said that anybody but Fred would be better, and are now moaning on for owners who did exactly what Fred and his fellow owners did. You just couldn't make up such hypocrisy. That obviously doesn't mean you if your reply is anything to go by. Only someone with serious mental problems could not see these comments as constructive and worthy of a comment, but you decline on both occasions. We (Mike Ashley) got 35 million for Carroll who is probably worth £5m. At least with his Carroll money, he is less likely to asset strip us elsewhere, and you must admit, 35 million for Carroll was a blinding deal for us. Barton was a bad egg and we simply haven't missed him. Cabaye is twice the player and with Barton we were playing humpball even more often than we do now. Nolan chipped in with a few good goals, but last season he massively overachieved. Where would you play him now if he was still here? It wouldn't be in the 'hole' because he was crap there. He needed to run from deep, something that Cabaye is doing now, but Cabaye also contributes throughout all phases from defence to attack. Also, the Barton-hoof-Carroll-knockdown-Nolan-scrappy goal combo didn't get us into the top half last season, whereas the Cabaye-Ba effect really is going on and on. 21 games into the season, and people are still claiming it's a purple patch. Really? 2. You're probably right. Ashley is likely to harvest our players. Where is the Carroll money ? It was a "good deal" for Mike Ashley, but not for Newcastle United, not until the manager gets the cash to buy a replacement. All of it.
