I'd be happy to whip out my wotsit for the lovely Alan Robson though ❤️

Whatever floats your boat, zico. No judgements on here. :good:

I’m watching motd and they absolutely got away with it today

They've been at it all season. 0.81 expected points from yesterday, and they've come away with all 3.

Currently 4th in the league, but the expected points table has them 6th bottom with 7 fewer points than they've got.

4 of their 1st team are going to AFCON 9 in total

I'm hoping that with our game vs them being the last before they all depart for AFCON, that they'll all be half-arsing it to make sure they don't miss out through injury.

The complacency for them is building beautifully ... and we're coming into form just at the right time.

They're convinced they're going to give us an absolute hiding.

At some stage though we have to say that they're doing better than expected. Yes, they're overperforming the metrics and, yes it's likely to revert to the mean at some stage. However by the time it does they may well end up in the conversation for European competition. Which is bonkers.

They've a decent 'keeper and their manager has set them up to believe they can compete in this league, if nothing else.

I'd love nothing more than a post AFCON collapse, but honestly I think a combination of endeavour, luck and opponents' profligacy means they're likely going to be absolutely fine.

they've probably done enough already to stay up but can see them ending up lower midtable. we're still much more likely to be challenging for top four than them by spring

I think they'll finish comfortably mid-table, but I expect they'll fall short of European qualification. Being objective, they probably need to for their own sake - they need to be fully established in the league before that added complication.

They've undoubtedly done well so far this season. I don't think it'll be sustained and they are due a rut. Xhaka has been unbelievably good signing for them.

If something can impact their home form I could see them dropping fast. A few losses and their fans will turn. They might not have if they'd not got used to winning at their place, but now, if results start going the way of the metrics I could see things getting unpleasant.

Half their first team fucking off to AFCON will sort that.

Also, the fact that they're running incredibly hot atm.

They're worried that Sadiki and Xhaka are both one booking away from a suspension and hope they are either rested for one or both of their games this week or pickup a tactical yellow against the scouse vermin tomorrow to ensure they play against us.

Genuinely tempted to put £100 on Xhaka getting booked tomorrow. He’ll be looking for it from the first whistle

He'd be mad to tbh. A reckless challenge at Anfield to try and strategically rest up for the derby could well be a straight red with the bent sideways officiating of Liverpool games.
