Put bluntly, the need to reaffirm if their mandate from 3 years ago, pre-Brexit, pre-Pandemic and pre-Starmer is still valid. We all know the answer, but we were in a totally different economic, and political climate in December 2019.

Looks like the triple lock is about to be abandoned, so we can assume that benefits won't be uplifted for inflation either. 

 

They're saying they'll stick with the commitment for defence spending to be 3% of GDP though so Ben Wallace can continue playing fat action man.

The governing party isn't elected for a three year term though. It's rare that the political landscape doesn't change over any government's five year term. You can disagree with it but they're well within their rights not to call an election.

Firstly, they obviously don't give a fuck about morals but also why are they morally obliged to do so? Should every unpopular government sacrifice themselves?

Because it's a zombie government, not just unpopular, which is damaging the country. How is it moral to continue with this? And how is it democratic to change leaders multiple times? I can only assume you arew playing devil's advocate here. Putting party before country is clearly not moral.

It's moral because the people voted them in. These weren't nice, competent politicians to begin with, they haven't suddenly become worse since 2019. They're cunts and they told the country they were cunts and yet the country voted the cunts in.

 

Regarding the change of leader, we live in a parliamentary system. Despite the fact that Johnson claimed a personal mandate it was technically a mandate for the Conservative party and that party still commands the HoC.

 

I'd like to see the cunts out as much as anyone but the fact is that they are free to govern until 2024 as long as they have a majority and are under no obligation to call an election that will decimate their party.

Once again, they're not under a legal requirement, no. But it's not just their leader they have changed (potentially twice), it's their entire manifesto. Instead of levelling up, we now have auserity mark 2. Literally nobody voted for that. Of course it's immoral they continue, of course they will continue out of self-interest. But self interest on this basis is inherently immoral. 

 

ANd btw, to be pedantic decimate means reduce by 10%. They are going to be more than decimated.
