Work Christmas parties

Ours was canny, far too much food mind. It was a hot buffet and they brought out beef stifado, rice, seabass, chicken wings, nachos, pigs in blankets, potato salad, few other things then a while later loads of turkey, carrots, broccoli and sprouts which barely got touched and loads of it got canned. Was alreet though, and was away by half 7 without calling anyone a dickhead.

CT wants to know what's for main course.

I like my colleagues, Renton! Though only having to see them once or twice a year may help.

Does everyone on here have a pathological hatred of their work colleagues or something?

I don't mind mine at all. Still go out with some of my previous work mates 5 years after leaving as well, entirely voluntarily.

I like the vast majority of my colleagues and get along well with them, have also made some great friends through work, but on the whole we tend to have different opinions on what constitutes a good night out so I don't do a great deal of work-based socialising.

Aye thats it for me too. I dont want to go to Walkabout and drink 3 for 2 bottles of VB, but if I was to suggest somewhere that a drink cost more than £3 I would get laughed out the room. So fuck them and their lack of taste

Maybe it's a lack of money rather than taste?

Had mine last night - I don't really like them but as I'm responsible for everyone's 'fun' I pretty much have to go. The company pays for it which isn't too bad - went to an Italian place that I frequent regularly (and have a loyalty card with). A loyalty card which benefited from a £700 spend last night

Went to karaoke afterwards as someone thought that would be a good idea. In truth it was kind of fun, everyone belting out really shit songs and so on - am now quite hungover though...

30 sparks and pipe fitters off to one of those all you can eat places on Friday night, next door to a wetherspoons for before and after. We asked Strawb but the snobby fucker said he'd rather spunk 400 quid on a bottle of Cristal before dining at the new Gordon Ramsay place in town......

They might have big vet bills? They might need a new fence after reversing their car into it? Maybe have a Eurovision shindig to pay for? A holiday needing paying? Young Johnny might have school trip needs paying? They might be saving for kids christmas prezzies? They might even think some bars are just a bit average and are not worth having the piss taken out of them for expensive Italian draught lager when surrounded by wankers? Truth is more varied and complex than heresay sometimes.

Nah, most of mine are dead canny. The management make all new employees go through a group interview day as well as a maths and English test to weed out all the knackers. It puts a lot of people off from even applying!

Ladies and gentleman, I give you Lord Fish of London, fresh from defending his adopted city on twitter to the editor of true faith.

Whey to say that the entire capital city is bereft of good pubs, bar staff or patrons is a bit fucking silly.
