They’ve passed their tax bill. Cuts for businesses and millionaires all round.

Quite funny to see Americans on Twitter lose their minds over it, on about the rich getting richer and the poorer getting poorer, like it's something that hasn't been happening in the rest of the world for decades already.

The whole thing is a shocking shit show in law making. Trump kept telling people that it was a tax cut for the middle and low income families while keeping quiet on the fact the richer were going to benefit much much more from it.

Plus it was being voted on despite much of it not having even been seen by senators or been scored or in another case an amendment had to be rejected because it was hand written in chicken scrawl and was illegible.

Not to mention what this will do to the price of healthcare and that it'll increase the deficit.

There are pages with a large “x” over them in pen and then other pages with just a line over them in pen ffs, a Democrat Senator showed it on twitter and rightly asked if the line meant those parts didn’t apply that’s how absurd this whole mess is.

Had a long meeting at work yesterday about this, honestly some of the parts of it are so poorly thought out and there are holes and gaps due to how quickly it has been slapped together. The last time this happened (1986) it was years in the making, this one has been months.

The Republicans are preaching about how this will help lower and middle class families, but things like deductions for student loan interest have been taken out despite the crises over student loans.

Honestly it’s fucking crippling and coupling this with the net neutrality issue it shows how shambolic the government is over here. The last few weeks have been dreadful for me personally and for my family, so with all of this bollocks going on I’m genuinely looking to just move home to the UK.

They also managed to sneak in an amendment to the tax bill allowing drilling for oil and gas in the arctic. Because that’s relevant to tax.

They’ve also been talking big about bringing manufacturing and industry back to the USA but in this new proposal they have got rid of the section 199 deduction. That is a deduction for manufacturing and production activities in the USA. They are literally trying to just level the playing field for the large international multi nationals that line their pockets, rather than carry good on any promise to bring jobs back in manufacturing.

 They are aye.

It’s more the drive to be with my family tbh, but this fucking about and pushing through ridiculous tax bills just to say they’ve done something doesn’t help.

The only good thing about Trump and Jerusalem is that the news outlets have resurrected the footage of the mad cunt in his yarmulke standing a foot away from the wailing wall, looking like he doesn't know how he got there or how long he should hang around. Sensational.

That mad cunt is gonna cause a global war soon.

Yeah, but Hillary was going to double down on Ukraine. She was clearly the bigger threat to global security.

He's not actually done anything to kick off a war yet tbf

I'm actually a bit amazed by this. Almost a full year in and nothing.

Imagine how much time the next American President is going to have to spend walking Trump's insanity back.

Half their Presidency is going to be apologising and making amends. Which obviously the following President will spin as being meek and in the pocket of whoever .

Don't know actually. Trump's "hardline" stance might be useful to the yanks going forward as long as he doesn't go too far. The following president can maintain hardline positions and only ride back on them once diplomatic victories are achieved with the countries they concern. No US president is going to walk in and suddenly make things easier for all these countries without getting anything in return.

Unless there's a war.
