Polarboy 2770
Fuck. Hopefully Bruno hasn't followed his mates suit. With betting it has to be the thrill or is a full on addiction for these lads. I can't imagine getting paid tens of thousands per week and then feeling the need to put bets on. Although it's quite counter intuitive as well, I think it's far more understandable that someone who's skint or close to it wants take a chance on making some money. As for the Greenwood situation, what makes it even more disturbing is that it's not even a case of them spunking 60-100m on a player and not wanting to lose that value. Don't get me wrong, the only morally right move would be to move a player on even if he did cost that, but the point is that Man U have an academy player that want to keep, and it's likely partly down to them not wanting to pay money for a new forward.
Holden McGroin 9911
It’s more of the buzz. If you ever listen to Steven Caulker on Undr the Cosh podcast, it’s eye opening. he was getting private jets over to Cyprus (which have lots of casinos apparently) after game on Sat, losing £100ks then be back in for training on Monday. Gemmill 63312
Very different story to Toney if he's been piling on an outcome and then making it happen.

Diego21 2465
It is very easy to get caught in a bet like this. Much more in a professional football so watched and so measured. I remember years ago, a boy from my neighborhood who played in the First Division of Futsal in Italy. His team was leading and played against the bottom of the League, which had already been relegated. The bets were 20 to 1 for my friend's team... And the boy told some people in the neighborhood to bet, because they had rigged the game to lose. The news spread around the neighborhood and even the dumbest could take €20 and bet. They finally lost that match.... But it turns out that the bookmakers found it very strange that in a futsal match where you almost never bet suddenly there would be hundreds of bets... And on top of that with such an improbable result. They challenged and no one charged anything. Fortunately I stayed out of it.

Spot fixing is also a criminal offence I believe, football authorities could be the least of his worries.

Large sums going on it, particularly if it happened more than once, is always going to raise red flags.
ewerk 39291
To add insult to injury the bets were placed with Betway, who also happen to be West Ham’s shirt sponsor.

Diego21 2465
I think Manchester United's doubts are evident because, although the court has decided that Greenwood is not guilty, we have all seen the video of the bloody bride asking for help and we have all seen the videos and audios where the conversation tells us that he is abusing clearly from her. I have not followed the case, and I do not know if she has simply withdrawn the complaint, if they have reached an agreement or what. But the evidence we've all seen will put Greenwood on trial in every stadium he steps foot in.
Kid Dynamite 9342
The CPS withdrew the case because his girlfriend decided not to testify (they've now had a baby together) and because "new evidence came to light". The last line is a strange one. Because the evidence we've all seen seems irrefutable

ewerk 39291
Chances are that the new evidence is that she changed her statement.
