Other Games 21/22: Talk about Actual Football

I'm guessing part of the protocol is that players have to be tested on the morning of matches. If an outbreak is discovered then unfortunately there isn't really any other option other than to postpone.

It isn't a benefit to most of the clubs involved, as Wyki says, they're going to end up playing a lot of games in a short period of time further down the line.

The decision should have to come the day before the match tbh. Make a call then based on the number of players out and the number potentially exposed. Be prudent if it looks like you will be seriously disadvantaged. Then still go ahead with testing the day of the game to make sure you aren't fielding anyone with covid, but you have to put out whatever team you can.

You can't have people travelling to the match, paying for trains and all the rest of it, and 2 hours before kickoff announce that the match is off. That is pure nonsense from Villa.

An apology for Burnley fans isn't good enough TBH.  Train tickets, fuel etc needs sorting out for them tbh.

They’re Burnley fans. An apology is too much for them.

Some sensible points made I think this thread re covid cancellations. Also good point about the unvaccinated players.

I see Chelsea have had a request to postpone their game today cancelled cos they've got enough non-infected players to field a side, but they aren't the players that they'd like to have.

Tbh that's no more a red card than Kane's should've been. Kane's more dangerous a tackle. Shergar will be going daft after the game as they could've had a pen as well, obviously not as blatant as ours but a bigger deal will be made, naturally.
