City not a bad option for us actually. They have a long history of signing English players who look good but then dont quite manage it there. Maybe we pick him up in a year or two when the hype dies down.

Surely really only Grealish and he's a piss head.

Kalvin Phillips was the last one who went there with a similar profile to what Anderson has now, and it was a disaster for him.

I don't want him to go there and fail btw. We sold him out of necessity and it's been an absolute disaster in the sense that we've clearly just on the cheap sold our best academy prospect in ages.

But I still don't think he'd have had the chance to prove himself had he stayed here, and he might well find the same at Man City if he goes there in January and they sign the next shiny thing they see in the summer.

The problem with Man City for players going there is that they can afford to make very expensive mistakes in the transfer market, and just give up on a player if it doesn't work immediately. Unless you're an absolute undeniable superstar, you're probably better going to a club that can't afford those mistakes.

The other problem for players going there is they will almost certainly ALL think they're undeniable superstars.

And probably were "the man" at the previous club.

But so many players don't seem to get this, and/or their agents are interested only in the £. When a club at our level comes in for you, you know that they will do everything in their power to make it work for you because they can't afford it not to.

Anderson is over-hyped. He's fine. He wouldn't start for us right now, even with how shit things are going,

Miley is going to be twice the player.

Would take Anderson back to boost Euro domestic/home-grown numbers and to have a solid squad player. But not too upset he isn't here or we might not get him back.

He’s in the England starting 11 on merit, but okay

Downie thinks it's bollocks

We'd be silly to accept an offer like that, he has been improved in his time here and given he has the physical attributes to be the perfect player to fit in Howe's system. Has another 3 years on his contract and is still a young 22 in terms of development and football maturing. By the time you consider signing and loyalty bonuses there would be stuff all profit in selling him for €20m. He's a good player to have on the bench at this stage of his career, and for us, with our lack of striking options we can't afford to sell without replacing.

I think the 30m from the summer was rubbished shortly after the window shut, wasn’t it? I’d sell him though, even though he’s been handy at times when he’s come on. He’s not getting minutes ahead of Wissa and Big Nick up front and won’t be ahead of Elanga or Murphy off the right at any point. Pocket the profit and use it to get some full backs

I think if we sell him, we'll buy someone to replace him.

My biggest concern for the next couple of transfer windows is Tino fucking off to Man City.

Meanwhile Gordon is starting on his own up front.
