Howe's post match quotes might explain why we continue to plumb the depths of our striker targets.

Sounds like Isak continues to be a little cunt.

The belief that PIF won't sign off on Watkins and Wissa btw. After the complete fuck up their terrible decision making has made of the transfer window.

Different interpretations of Howe's quotes on the two videos. Downie thinks the player is the one saying he won't train with his teammates, Hope thinks Howe is saying that the player's outlook/attitude is such that he can't have him training with the rest of the squad.

Who knows, but it looks like a very long road back, if that's even possible, so we're gonna be doing our absolute best to sign two strikers and move him on.

Wykiki's favourites the Geordie Journos with the casting vote:

Their interpretation is that the player is refusing to train/play.

They also said there was some positive stuff from Howe. He was asked about the ownership and said that there is a lot going on behind the scenes with the training ground and stadium, and that the ownership are as interested and as engaged today as they were when the club was first taken over.

Also he was asked whether the club has been dynamic as he had asked them to be in the transfer window, and he gave a very robust yes and defended the transfer team for their efforts in the window. (and yes I think he would have done at least some of this even if he thought they'd fucked it)

So it sounds like, at least on the face of it, Howe is still fully on board, and it's largely Isak (and Paul Mitchell/Darren Eales who refused to improve his contract) that have brought about the vast majority of the mess we find ourselves in.

Also Eddie the General: if I have to run with this squad of players come the end of the transfer window, I'll be proud to do so. Look at last season, we signed nobody and what did we do? We won a trophy.

Eddie's digging in and building the siege mentality. We're gonna fucking KNACK everybody.

It's not confirmed either way, I thought it may have been that the player group is not yet ready for Isak to return. Howe would like him to be back but it's not time yet, he has to do his time before being allowed to train together.

If Isak is refusing to train what a turbo cunt move that is with 3 years to run on a contract.

From Caulkin's piece in the Athletic, the last sentence could easily be interpreted as "if he turns up some of the lads'll kick his head in":

“But I have to say big credit to the players because they’ve got on with their work. The training has been at a really high level. I haven’t seen a negative output on the pitch. But I have been aware of feeling around the group that there’s something there that’s not to the benefit of the group.”

I'm not surprised the players don't want him there, on the list of people Isak has insulted this summer his team mates are pretty high up there.

Regardless of the circumstances but I have to say that I can’t remember being as disappointed about a player’s character as with Isak. His attitude stinks and he seems rather poorly advised behaving like a cunt. It will be interesting to see how he copes with playing for a "big" club when he has serious competition for a starting place.

Its really his first summer as a star as well, its gone straight to his head and the head of his agents.

Think its been mentioned but he is their golden goose by an absolute mile as far as clients go, they'll be frothing at the gash to get him this move and get paid a fortune for it but their inexperience has fucked them all because they didn't put a release clause in his deal  cunts.

Here’s the actual press conference, you can make up your own mind.

Lot of blame on his agents, agreed a six year contract with zero get outs/flexibility so he hasn't got a leg to stand on other than to act the cunt.
