Either buy him now, if the budget allows it, which seemed to be the plan with Ekitike, or agree a deal where a player comes next summer. Man City, Chelsea, Real etc do it quite often where they've basically half signed a player, and allow him to play one more season at his present club. Whether we could do that with Porto for example, who knows. What we can't be doing is getting caught with our pants down again next summer, scrambling for a replacement when everyone knows we'll be flush with cash. Its just happened to us preseason. Let's use the remaining 3 weeks to mitigate the situation the best we can. Its the same as if Isak had snapped his leg. We're all agreed that no player is bigger than the club and we can't be fucked around like this. I think Eddie Howe has acted brilliantly, as expected. He's been backed by PIF.
