If you think @Alex is any sort of replacement for Isak, you're mistaken. He's a 50 year old odd civil servant who was all bested by the grey man in the 5 aside nearly 20 years ago ffs.

Not true. Manc-mag was on my team

True. All said and done £150m would have been a sufficient amount to come and buy him honourably without trying to strongarm us via the media and agents.

They've acted without honour, and so unfortunately has Isak. The latter is the really disappointing aspect of this whole saga as it has severely tarnished his achievements here.

Barca can buy him for £100m if Livepool want him it's £150m

There must be something else to this saga. It’s not like we are shite. We’ve just won a cup and got in the CL.  No reason to completely down tools and seems out of character.

I feel like something isn’t being reported. Maybe it will come out when he leaves.

It seems like he's a kid having a complete meltdown & won't listen to anything

No doubt the bought and paid for media will get increasingly shrill and hysterical as the end of the window approaches, before it SLAMS SHUT

Maybe. Could just that it’s snowballed out of control to the point where he doesn’t feel he can retreat from his position. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s shit-scared of his agent and what he might be capable of

I think it's all about his agent. I don't doubt he wants to go to Liverpool, and he might even be a bit of a sulky wanker, but what

we're seeing is his agent's shady contract breaking tactics to force a move....very extreme boat burning stuff

There are no possible mitigating circumstances to explain or excuse Isak's actions. We'll certainly get a load of excuses and accusations leveled against us in an effort to rebuild his reputation once he has gone. And that too will be a load of media driven horseshit. We'll never get clarity and anyone who believes a single word he says in the future about us is a fool. Best to put him down as a prized cunt and move on.

Edit: All just my own opinion, of course. :)

Oh it will all be about broken promises and being badly treated after all he's done for the club. He'll be the victim in all of this of course

Had they come in with a respectable bid initially then I agree with you - would have given us time and impetus to seek out a suitable replacement. They didn't so even £150m for me needs to be met with a "yeah, fuck off!"

Not that he's worth that any more - his conduct in the past 4 weeks will have seen his stock and value decrease significantly. Quite possibly that's the plan from his bullshit agent - "play up, your market value will drop and they'll HAVE to accept a lower offer in fear of it plummeting even further!"

I really do hope there's some truth in the suggestion that PIF's position is he won't be sold in this window under any circumstances and he won't be sold in any window to another English club. If there is truth in it, it'd account for the toys being chucked out of the pram.

If you want to play bluff with your career as the stake, Saudis may not be the best opponents

All they had to do was not buy Ekitike. That's it. Had we been the only horse in the race for Hugo, he's in a black and white shirt and Isak is wearing red. We'd probably already have got another striker in as well.

Now, I not only hope that we never sell him to them, I also hope Ekitike and Wirtz are massive flops

Yep, and that smacked of them taking the Chelsea approach of buying up all available talent to mitigate against those in and around them catching them up.

Follow the money. In this case it's his mob boss agent. This is the bit in the gangster film where a capo has got his gun to someone's head. What happens next in the scene is anyone's guess;  does an ally loom into view in the shot and press a pistol against the Capo's temple and resolves things in his/their favour? Or do the rest of the mob turn up and there's a bloody massacre of all the good guys?....

He's crashed the van again. In a ditch, clearly concussed with blood running down his forehead, just repeatedly hitting "Submit Reply" and wondering why the ambulance hasn't turned up yet.

There'll be roaming television crews following his every move etc. The media scrutiny will just make any rehabilitation harder for him. In a way I'd like him just to say " sorry, I fucked up, I'll stay a year and make it up to you all" but that ain't happening is it.

Not sure what happened there

How's winter in Christchurch mate? About the same as here?..  :D

Coldest we've had since I moved here. After a mediocre summer I am very much over it and ready for the weather to get good any time now.

Next week I'll have been here for seven years.

I think there's a case to say Liverpool set out not only to damage NUFC this summer but also to humiliate them...
