Have we been clever enough to insist on a sell on clause I wonder?

Been reported there's no add-ons, hasn't it?

Btw I don't think Howe is interested in another player without PL experience. He wants Wissa of JSL because they can play while he integrates Thick Dick Nick.

If we get a Muani or Vlahovic in, it'll be proper desperation stuff.

I was. That was Romano’s tag line throughout the summer. Liverpool and Isaks agent clearly engineered this and have been in control of the transfer since day 1.

Thats not to say (eg) Chelsea didn’t want to bid for him (and money does talk) but clearly he had eyes for Liverpool.

Nee shit? ;)

it works both ways though, I doubt very much that Liverpool would have been the only option if you’d had Chelsea and Real Madrid come in and offer higher wages

we've only got ONE person claiming the skinny cunt and his agent didn't pocket £15m in loyalty bonuses.

and that person is craig hope, who we all know is a useless cunt

We are in a nightclub and the last song is on. All you can see is fat chicks on the side licking their lips as you’re peacocking by dropping some world class moves on the dance floor.

That’s where we are now. DESPERATE.

p.s. I know fat chicks need love as well….but they gotta pay.

When I logged in this morning, the way some were posting last night you'd honestly think Isak had trained all summer, played the first 3 games and bagged 5 goals, and OUT OF NOWHERE we'd sold him to Liverpool on deadline day.

SOME OF YOU have seen sense today. SOME OF YOU are taking a little longer.

Spot on IMO. Whether he gets that is anyone's guess. Can't be that or nothing though, which is why a heavy loan fee without obligation to buy is a good alternative.

I think you needed to permit some of us to have a bit of rage when the news broke last night. As I said I slept on it and felt a lot more pragmatic about it this morning.

I'm still fucking livid, but I can see it's regrettably the least shit outcome.

Gemmill mocking Newcastle fans for being upset at selling a striker with 54 goals in 86 appearances.

You deserve to be sentenced to an eternity spent on the Talksport Sports bar with Jason Cundy.

I hope our statement is something along the lines of.....

We can confirm the sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a british record fee of £130m, despite the players actions. We have not paid any loyalty bonuses as part of this transaction.

We wish the Slovenian national team all the best in their endeavours against Sweden this weekend. Hard but fair boys.

I find it appealing that you’re prodding the good people of Toontastic but leave your mrs to stew in her feelings all weekend.

You've had 2 months to come to terms with it. He effectively "left" when he refused to travel to Asia with the rest of the squad.

You're usually quite sanguine about things, so I'm sorry but I can only conclude that your stake on this bet has put you in significant financial difficulty and you're currently negotiating the distressed sale of your house.

Unlike you I'm not a serial divorcee so can't match your extensive experience of separations.

BTW how the fuck are Liverpool going to keep both Isak and Ekitike happy? That goal celebration at Wembley was clearly barbed towards this carry on.

disappointing end to the saga. i expected the club to hold firm and negotiate something closer to the £150m they were looking for.

ultimately, £130m plus whatever we clawed back by not paying Isak his loyalty bonus makes total sense from a business/PSR perspective.

as far as howe is concerned, he no longer has to answer questions about isak. it had become a massive distraction. so i imagine he's relieved it's all over too.

another bonus is the players don't have to welcome him back - i'm not sure how that would have gone tbh, or if isak would have ever really put his all in for the team again.

personally, i'm glad the cunt has gone. shame it had to be to liverpool but i get why it happened.

however, you have to concede that liverpool have played a blinder. they used their media pawns and controlled the narrative all summer, got the player for less than we wanted to sell him for and fucked our start to the season in the process.

the bit that really stings - and that i think we're going to have to get used to it until the saudis are really willing or able to start flexing their muscle - is this:

we are still a selling club when one of the big boys come in.

The players don't need to make any direct statement about Isak. Just focus on Wissa coming in and making noises about squad unity being paramount etc. The message will be loud and clear.

Everything's been said, I agree with most points to a degree, pro and cons. Ultimately the player has fucked us over which absolutely hasn't been helped by the farcical power vacuum at SJP. Liverpool know what they're doing as well but fuck all will be said because they're an institution or something? If we don't get a credible striker in today we have helped kill this season which is unforgivable.

Go on there Craig, you get those players told. 👍
