Joelinton makes such a difference to our press. He has a brilliant sense of timing and it seems that he is often the catalyst either in the tackle or as the close by pilot fish picking up the scraps after a teammate applies the pressure.

I wasn't too upset with the first half. I thought we frustrated them and perhaps even it was a plan by Howe to limit the minutes in the legs for Gordon and Bruno by setting up in a holding pattern with the two Lewis's until hitting them with early second half substitutes. I think a lot of the credit for the win goes to Howe. The substitutes were timed perfectly. He got in before Pep and we hit them before Pep could respond. Brilliant result. Another clean sheet. The machine appears to be clicking into gear.

Hopefully we can maul Pep-lite's Burnley at the weekend and move into the next CL match with even more momentum.

Joelinton is absolutely massive for us. Possibly moreso than Bruno now we have Tonali.

Well that was shite but we're in the game because City have been pretty gland in the final third.

What a waste of a finish from Murphy from the best chance of the game. Didn't seem confident at all and seemed like a half hearted attempt.

Imagine how he feels- people winced when he got the ball under the Baconator, and now he’s first name in the team sheet and absolutely loved by his teammates and the fans.

Credit to big Joe, some of the hate he was getting when the useless cabbage was here would have had a lesser man fucking off asap. But nope, the man put in shift after shift and made a lot of people eat humble pie.

The fact he became a Brasilian international while playing for little old Newcastle shows what a fucking player he is.

Fantastic on so many fronts.

Brilliant for Lascelles and Dummett not to give City a sniff up front.

Absolutely awesome performance from Livramento. He might actually be worth the money we overpaid for him. Solid performance from Targett in the second half as well.

unlucky for Hall and a good experience for Miley but Howe did the absolutely right thing at half time. As we got into the game after our first shot on goal bringing on the energy and quality from Bruno and Gordon changed everything and City were chasing shadows for the first 20 minutes of the second half. The goal was well worked and well deserved.

Only thing missing was Miggy nutmegging Grealish and smiling at him.

I’m sure I read somewhere that he was going for private training off his own bat whilst Bruce was here.

It’s one of the greatest turnarounds I can think of, in such a relatively short time.

Isak is a class act mind, confident as anything but also able to let others have their moment in the spotlight too. Really respect that.

Was class that. You can see he will be key in the dressing room
